Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

Great gaming console
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PS4 is everything as advertised. The games look terrific, the speed is great, it's much quieter than the PS3. It's off to a great start as the developers have just started tapping into the PS4's abilities. The controller feel awesome...after a week I'm hooked!

No problem here!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are excited about this new Playstation 4 then you are in good company. It works great and is a step up from the Playstation 3 in both power and ease of use. The price makes it more attractive than the Xbox One. It also seems more friendly to developers.

A bit lacklust for a next gen console
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was super stoked to get my PS4 and enjoy it for what it is, a next gen console. It is more powerful than its predecessor and runs smoother, however, it is not without flaws. The games look great and play excellent. Pros -More powerful system -Runs faster -Nice updated interface -Faster Blu-Ray drive -Amazing graphics -Amazing audio Cons -No multimedia support ( no option to play video files from a media server or from a usb device) which is a major disappointment -No interface customization -No option to delete unwanted apps off the system. There are several video apps that I will never ever use and want them off my system however I have no way to delete them. -Lackluster range in genre of launch titles. I am not a sports fan so I don't consider them options and there are way too many fps. It would have been awesome for Watch Dogs to have been released at launch or a good RPG. Overall, the system is worth the purchase especially if you need/want upgraded games and a blu-ray player. Knowing what I know now, I probably would have waited a bit longer before purchasing one. There have been so many reports of people having issues with their consoles, but that hasn't been an issue for me so I consider myself lucky.

PS4 it's awesome and if u love video games, get it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love PS1-4, same with XBOX, 360, and now One. If u limit yourself to just one system. Then, you're the one missing out. I'm in my 30's so I don't have a die hard commitment to any company whether it's Sony, Microsoft, Apple, etc. If a company creates a product that I like and can afford, there's a good chance I'll buy it. I remember back in the early 2000's when Sega Dreamcast, PS1&2, and XBOX where all out. I liked all of them for the most part, but my friends loyalties seemed to sway in the direction of who had the best game out and just being released. So, one week 2 of the systems sucked, then it could switch completely the very next week or month!! People are just like that and that's life!!

Great console, needs content
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My playstation 4 has worked pretty well for me. All of the games look beautiful as ever, but Battlefield has had a couple problems with connection to the PSN. The PSN itself is pretty bare, not much additional content to buy from the store. The controller's light is always on while charging so that can get annoying. Also, the provided ear piece (headset), is huge, and will hurt 99% of its users ears (it is a large ear bud).

Love it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I cannot say enough positive things about the PS4. The graphics are awesome. It's super quiet. Remote play with a vita is fantastic. Despite what is being said, there are plenty if games to keep me busy many months until the games catalog starts filling out.

Improves on the PS3 in every way
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is pretty much what one would expect from Sony. They promised to focus heavily on games, and focus heavily they did. Switching between the UI and games are a breeze. Loading times are also very brief. Comes with several video apps to get you started. Still missing ESPN and HBO GO but Roku just recently got ESPN so I am holding out hope that they achieve this sooner rather than later. Sony is still working out some of the kinks which is to be expected with any new operating system. But with the recent 1.51 update I have noticed that many of the bugs have subsided. Extra Notes: Remote Play with the PS Vita is insanely cool! Not sure what kind of wifi speed one needs for this but mine works flawlessly from about 40 feet away from the modem. And I have 20 mbps. Not slow but not super fast. Also being able to download games from your phone or computer is very cool. I purchased a digital game on my lunch break at work and came home ready to play! Overall: I am very excited for the future of this machine. There may not be a bunch of game titles out before Christmas, except for some of the more popular multi-platform games, but next year's lineup looks to be something special.

Good system, lack of games at launch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The UI is a great improvement over PS3 and the graphics are certainly impressive. However, the lack of games at launch, while expected, is still disappointing. This will definitely be a must purchase for most gamers in the future, but right now there is no urgency to make a purchase. Also, the lack of games extends for quite some time as Infamous does not have a hard date on it and neither do any of the other exclusives.

Great System!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is a great system for games and media but it's not without faults. It's $100 cheaper than the Xbox one, and allows for use of network services like Netflix and Hulu without having to buy playstation plus (PS+). Their controller has improved as well. It's easier to hold in the hand and the analog sticks are much easier to use. The biggest fault of the ps4 is its lack of big name PS4-only titles to play at launch. Those won't arrive until next year. The other fault is the lack of dlna support, so you can't stream media from your computer anymore. Sony will likely release an update adding this feature later. Overall the ps4 is a great gaming system and there's plenty to play, just not many Sony - only titles right now. But in the long haul it will be a great system to have given Sony's well known first party titles and overall power when compared to the Xbox One.

Noticeable upgrade over PS3
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For first person shooters, I have always been a PC gamer. The controls of the consoles were way too sluggish. What impressed me the most about the PS4 was that there was very little sluggishness in the controller response. It still isn't quite to the PC level, but it is more than playable to someone used to a PC. Honestly, I think this may have signaled the death knell for my PC gaming days. The ability to choose whether to buy the games in disc format, or to purchase them as DLC is also a great option that I think may get some use from me. The only cons that I have to gripe about are the lack of game selections. I would really like to see content that utilizes the camera, maybe fitness type games. I also have to complain about the size of the HDD. 500gb will go very fast when each game installs into 30gb. Yes you can swap out the HDD for something bigger, but I shouldn't have too. The ability of allowing a USB drive would have solved this.

Left Xbox and Microsoft behind
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesomeness, this thing rocks! Only 399 plus twice as powerful as the Xbox one, whats not to like? Greatness awaits! I love this system it is def worth the upgrade. Graphics are great and the system and interface is super fast. I really have no complaints. If you are a gamer this is the system for you and I recommend it over the Xbox One. Sony delivered and the PS4 is amazing, and this is only the beginning. I was so tired of the Xbox interface with ads everywhere, everywhere i went ad after ad after ad would start playing, which made it super slow. Left my years of gaming history behind because who freaking cares. I've heard of many people not wanting to switch because they don't want lose their gamer score and history, even though the PS4 is more powerful and a better price. This is my first Playstation system since PS1, and im very happy that i went back.

No frills solid gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From opening the box, which is decidedly cheap, it is easy to determine that Sony put every penny into the hardware. The UI is slick and smooth, but lacks some functionality PS3 owners may be used to. Games and updates install automatically and very quickly. So far, Ghosts, AC4, and Flower all play well with superb detail. There could be more premium launch titles, but for cross-platform titles, this is the system.

Sony soars above all
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Go buy a PS4 and experience greatness!!!! The console itself is eye appealing and the new controller feels great inside the hands. The next level in console gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start by saying that since the PS2 I bought an Xbox then Xbox 360 and fully intended to buy an Xbox One. This is even after having SIX Xbox 360 systems replaced under warranty for RROD. After E3 2013 I was extremely unimpressed with Microsoft's pitch for the Xbox One. With all of the negative press I was leaning toward PS4. Once a friend picked one up in November it was no question which way I would go. The system is amazing! From controller feel to user interface to quality of titles the PS4 beats the Xbox One hands down. I am not the only one in my group of friends to come to this conclusion. Two of my friends sold their Xbox One systems to purchase a PS4 and several others skipped the Xbox One entirely. Based off of reports from the internet many PS4 owners have switched from the Xbox camp. See for yourself this is an amazing machine!

Next Gen Stunner
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is fantastic. I bought the PS4 and Killzone Shadowfall and I love it. The graphics look amazing. The games run at native 1080p, 60fps. The biggest improvement over the PS3 is the included Dualshock 4 controller. This baby feels great in your hands. It has textured sticks, improved triggers, and a nice grippy surface on the bottom. The touchpad may be good for some games too, but I've yet to really use it much. I also like how easy it is to share screens and videos from your games with a touch of a button. The OS also works well and allows multiple applications to run at the same time. Party chat is a welcome improvement too, although the earpiece that comes with the system seems a little cheap for my taste. Just get yourself a nice pair of headphones and you'll be good to go. All in all it's a great next gen gaming system that I highly recommend.
