Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

Great for hardcore not so for casual.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is well worth the price especially if you know what's under the hood and compare it to gaming desktops/laptops. The system has great exclusives, online store is much much faster then PS3's, The system is extremely quite actually you can't hear in running! The only downside to new consoles is that most of the playable games are current gen (360/PS3) Give them a year or so and well have a few more goodies to play.

Great system worth the wait
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony did ti right this time, this system is thinner, smaller and lighter then their first PS3. They took it to another level! Just make me think if they come out with the slim PS4 how much smaller they can go? Only thing i was disappointed with was that i have to wait to use my sony 7.1 wireless headset until the next major release but overall the graphics are great and can't wait for future titles to start rolling out.

PS4 Is Money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love my PS4. It has lived up to everything that I thought it would be every since I saw the live footage of the reveal back in like June. Only thing that lacks of right now is games, but more time passes more games will be there to choose from. I would recommend this to all my friends. Only problem I really see is this 500gb wont be enough space cause some of these games has some ridiculous GB that needs to be installed on the system.

Good Gaming System...That's About it Though
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know this will get a ton of thumbs down, but I'm looking at this through the eyes of the regular consumer. Notice how I gave it a 3 star instead of a 1 star. I'm doing a fair impression. I think that this is a good system and many people will enjoy it and be just fine with it. Let's start with the good. You don't have to check into the internet every 24 hours. This may not concern many people but hey, it's there. I personally don't care as I always have an internet connection. The price is the sweet spot for consumers. Yes, the Xbox One is $100 more but don't forget it does come with the Kinect and more features. Still, $400 is a great price. Controller has changed and now feels better in the hand. Good news here as the PS3 controller was awkward compared to the Xbox's. My complaints are that this is mainly for the gamer. They are not appealing to every single market. This system plays games, browses the web, and streams Netflix. Nothing amazing here. Compared to the Xbox One which has a boat load of new features such as the Kinect 2.0, HDMI In port, Twitch streaming, Skype Video Calls, Multi-tasking while doing two things at once on the same screen. Truly great stuff coming from Microsoft. I was underwhelmed by Sony. Xbox One uses the cloud amazing well, this will change the way the computer plays against you as it knows exactly what you do in the game. Pretty neat stuff. Plus, you can share your game library with up to 10 people anywhere in the world, and they can play instantly!! This really is suppose to be for your "family" only but Microsoft said that you can work around it and share with your friends and that they won't hunt you down. Awesome! Also, there has been confusion with used games. You can still trade in used games on both the Xbox and PS4. The thing with the Xbox is that once you give your game to a friend, they now own it and you don't. Not a big fan of that, but I don't lend games so this doesn't apply to me but it may to you. The PS4 DOES indeed charge a used game fee just like the Xbox One. Neither Microsoft or Sony will charge though, it will be up to the developer to set the price. These are the things I want in a next-gen console. Not just a faster box with a revamped controller. If you have trouble with an internet connection by all means get the PS4. If you're like the average consumer though...go with the Xbox. It offers a lot more for the money.

Evolutionary step in the right direction
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony has really done a fantastic job with its refresh of its flagship console. Every aspect of its hardware and, in most cases, its software is better than its predecessor. The slanted body design looks stunning, the new dualshock 4 is easily the best controller I've ever used, and the remote play feature coupled with the Vita works better than I initially expected. All in all, a must buy for any gaming enthusiast.

Better than the ps3
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is great, way better than the PS3. The graphics are unreal and i can see what they were working on improving between the PS3 and PS4. I think the games will only get better as developers are still working on reaching the full potential of the graphics card. This is a sought after system, it's evident because all of my friends are still trying to find this system :) Overall, i'm very happy with my purchase.

Great system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you like gaming quickly and appreciate the quality in the graphics of games then grab a ps4. This system has satisfied my requirements to meet a superior performance. It plays well, runs well and looks well. If you don't have one right now that's alright because there isn't much library built up yet digitally or disc based BUT the line up to come in the near future will prove to be worth the current investment.

Great Console That Has a Lot of Potential
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I'm impressed with the PS4. Even though most of the time you want to just jump in and game, the menus on the console make it somewhat easy to navigate and do what you need to. You can stop gaming and go to PlayStation Store to download a demo, then hop right back into your game seamlessly. You can also now chat with anyone on your friends list regardless of what game they're playing, or chat without gaming whatsoever. Overall it seems like they wanted to make all of the console's software work together as one. The launch lineup of games didn't appeal to me too much, but I did buy Need for Speed Rivals and am very impressed. While the game probably could have looked better, it moves fluidly and plays well. They also give you several free games courtesy of PlayStation Plus--you'll get a free month with your purchase. The games are pretty fun for indie/downloadable titles and will keep you occupied for a few hours (or more if you're really into them). You can also download several full releases just like with the PS3, and even upgrade certain PS3 titles you've already paid for for another $10 (these are games that have been released simultaneously for PS3 and PS4, like Assassin's Creed: Black Flag and Injustice Complete Edition). If you're like me you probably bought the PS4 in anticipation of titles to be released in the future, but the interface for buying, downloading and upgrading games on the console is very good. Apps for music and video services (such as YouTube and Netflix) have returned and offer entertainment for those who want to use these services on their TV's. I've only used Netflix so far and it seems to work just as well as it did on my PS3. There's also a web browser, which I haven't used yet. Important system updates and game patches can now be downloaded and installed in the background automatically, as long as the system is left in standby mode. This way you don't have to sit and wait for them to be completed before you start playing. The friends menu is different but works pretty much the same as PS3. You can actually use the same PSN ID from the PS3 and view your friends on both/either console. For example, you can view your online friends playing PS3 games while logged into your PS4. This is a nice addition, and shows that Sony put a lot of thought into keeping you and your fellow gamers connected. The introductory setup was plagued by slow connect times and failure to download updates--making downloads impossible for a couple of hours--but I suspect this was due to first-day online congestion. Haven't had any issues since then. My gripes, while minor to some, have to be mentioned. A lot of useless data continues to be displayed long after you're done with it. For example, after downloading an upgrade or receiving a friend request, the messages remain in your Notifications queue even after you've read and acted upon them. Most of these can be manually deleted, but the extra step should have been eliminated (maybe in a future firmware update). Also, games and apps on the console's home screen don't seem to be organized. Overall any gaming console is ultimately about the games. Everything, including watching movies, chatting and downloading apps, comes second to that. If PS4 had a stronger lineup of launch games it would have been a much better experience. But I'm still happy with my purchase and look forward to lots of great games in the future.

Great Gaming System
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A great system with incredible graphics. Switched over from the competition based upon the pre-release reviews of this system and have been very satisfied with the decision. The voice activation is a really cool touch. I also liked that they threw in a trial enrollment in the online gaming. This allowed me to immediately contact my friends that also got the system and start battling it out with the new games.

Very Fun Console!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have both a ps4 and Xbox one. I'm not a fan boy of any kind. I will start by saying that I'm really spending a lot more time with the ps4. You get some cool stuff out of the box free game downloads like Warframe, very cool game! $10 to spend on psn, 30 days of PlayStation plus free. If you want to know if I had to make a choice on what console to get at least as of right now. I would go ps4 it has the fun factor your looking for. I will be honest I was disappointed with what Xbox one gave me out of the box. You get Xbox live free for 30 days as well, however I think the free downloadable games on Xbox one are bad at best. a waverace type game you use with Kinect and a fitness game you use with Kinect. Pretty much forcing you to purchase a good game right out of the box. I don't know about everyone else but, I just shelled out more for the Xbox one and now I have to shell out another 60 bucks for a cool game right away boooooooo! I love Forza 5 so cool! I want to get dead rising 3 too! Anyways you cant go wrong with either one, but this review is for ps4, and as I said I don't think you will be disappointed. Get it Get it Get it!

Great console for gamers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love my PS4 so far. It's a huge improvement over PS3. Graphics are so crisp and clean. Games run fast and smooth. The social aspect around gaming on PSN is great. It is still early in consoles life, so I expect lots of new capabilities to come with later firmware updates. All in all this is the new console of choice if your main reason for getting a console is to play games and have fun doing so with friends.

Great Next Gen System
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good, initial offerings of games are great. New Controller design is by far the best part of the new PS4. Love the sharing options, Shape of the Dualshock 4 and feels so much more solid in your hands more than DS3. The look and design of the ps4 looks great in your entertainment system. Love the live broadcasts so you can watch other players play if you are on the fence about buying a certain game.

Absolutely Incredible!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely incredible piece of machinery. I have owned every Playstation since the PS1 and not once have I ever been let down. The graphics continuously stomp out the competitors, and the games available on the PS systems destroy any XBOX franchises. If you are in doubt of which system to buy, watch "DESTINY PS4 Trailer" on YouTube. If that doesn't sell this to you, then there is no hope left in this world!

PS4 graphics are great and price is right.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PS4 is all that it was cracked up to be with better graphics. They also have the price point right unlike the ps3 when it launched. Addituonally its 100 bucks cheaper than the zbox one.
