Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

Best console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first edition of the PS4 is amazing and with the continuos updates keeps getting better. It is seemingly faster than the previous version and user friendly. I use it to game and as a 3d blu ray player, which I love. The controllers are great too. Huge fan of Playstation.

Great Next-Gen Gaming Console
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The power of this console is very apparrent once you start getting your hands into the UI. It is fast and fluid and much better than that of the PlayStation 3. The Dualshock 4 is also a great re-designed controller and what I consider to be one of gamings best controllers in history. The system does feel a little bare with it not having all of the announced features on launch, but looking ahead it is clear that the console has plenty of potential of becoming everthing Sony promised and more. I would highly recommend the PS4 to anyone considering the purchase, but with a word of warning: Games are lacking at this point so do not expect a true next-gen gaming experience right out of the box, that will come in time.

Next Gen Console Impresses
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is a pretty impressive console. This marks the first Sony console that I have purchased, and so far I am not disappointed. The graphics are great, I enjoy the interface and speed and the controller fits well in my hands. The only thing I would consider a drawback is the 500 GB hard drive. With games being installed onto the hard drive and save data as well, this could fill up. Fortunately, Sony made the hard drive easily upgradeable and even provides instructions to do so online. All in all, I'm glad I made this purchase and look forward to the new games that will be released.

Fantastic - Wish for more backward compatibility
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product, clear, sharp, quick and easy. Need more backwards compatability for PS3 Sony headset and bluetooth remote. Interface is smooth, suspend feature is great. Makes almost no noise and same size as the ps3.

The BEST current gen system!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you happen to be on the fence about whether to get a playstion4 or an xbox one, it depends what you are into. Chances are if you are looking into buying a video game console, then games are the priority and everything else takes a back seat. Being an owner of both the xbox one and the playstation4, it's clear if you are into gameplay and graphics and want games running the best they can, playstation4 is the way to go. There are a multitude of games that are multi-console, and not only do they look better on the ps4, they also play better. Xbox one has it's advantages in the tv - voice operated arena, but for the best game experience, buy the ps4 you will not regret it!

im glad i got it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was debating if i should by it or not and I'm glad i did. not only i can play my games, i can stream movies and music when im not in a playing mode. my daughter and wife loves it just as much. They like using youtube, Netflix, and all. Really a great product if you don't have a smart tv or a bluray player with all the extras that way you only need one device. And your tv.

Worth every penny
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The epitome of gaming and entertainment. This sleek yet muscular machine, is like the Playstation 3 on Steroids. And similar to steroids, it has its glaring advancements, and thusly, glaring deficiencies. More Storage, Party Chat, and 8GB of RAM are just some of the drool worthy supplements. But Alas, the incompleteness is clear. No dedicated video chat software, which was a fav on its predecessor, and only 1 type of video output. HDMI. If anything happens to it, you could pay a hefty price for repair. So get the protection plan or wrap your hardware in diapers. In Summation this is the cream of the crop in quality. Sony does it again.

The PS4 is a great system.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Owning both the XboxOne and the PS4, I can honestly say that the PS4 is a better system. It's not perfect by any means, but it's a great system. It's the only system that you can get in which you can play games right out of the box. The PlayStation Store has several Free to Play games that do not require a PSPlus account. (i.e. DC Universe Online). If you have a PlayStation Plus account then you have access to even more free games every month. The user interface is easy to navigate and the upcoming release of PlayStation Now (in which you can play games directly from the server without having to install them) looks very promising. It's not free, but it gives you access to even more games. I highly recommend this system if you're looking for something new.

PS4 easy to set up and use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My 12 year old son received the PS4 for Christmas and hasn't stopped using it since. The graphics are great, much more improved than the other systems - more life like. The system is easy to understand and operate. Great investment!

Super new PS4
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This new Play Station 4 is simple to set up, even if it is larger than previous PS models. I do prefer the sleek black look. The wireless controller works great from all angles also, but it does need to be recharged too frequently.

Great gaming console delivering hours of non-stop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having a great user friendly menu and easy to understand controller makes up for a great gaming console. Blu ray player and high definition gaming makes this a great addition to rest of my entertainment devices. The downfall is the controller which needs to be frequently recharged. The USB cord is too short and doesn't reach my couch which makes playing while charging difficult. Overall Sony has met my highest expectations.

Great Package
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Impressive graphics, great streaming device, sleek design, improved ergonomics on controller. Overall very impressed. My only complaint, if any, would be that battery life of the controller seems less than that of the ps3.

Very good console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is a huge improvement in terms of usability over the PS3. It is a lot easier to navigate, as quiet as it's predecessor and the controller is a massive improvement over the PS3 one. You really have to hold it to feel the difference. My main issue is that the controller's battery drains too fast; whereas the PS3 controller could last around 10-12 hours (even after 3 years of use), this one will last about half of that. Good thing they included a charger for it because you will need it.

Just amazing!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a huge fan of the playstation consoles and have had my PS3 for over three years now. After getting my PS4 a month ago, I can see a huge difference with the way it performs. The new controller feels much more comfortable in my hands than the previous one since to joysticks are indented and the controller itself is larger. Also, the graphics are amazing and the home screen is easy to navigate. And the exclusives so far have been great! I would definitely recommend this to any gamer.

Great platform and superior games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the previous generation of game systems, I had the Nintendo Wii, the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Each had their pluses and minuses, so I was happy to own all 3. This time I wanted to choose platform only. The PS4 allows me to watch Blu-Ray movies, has the best resolution currently available, and one doesn't have to purchase a membership to get basic services on PlayStation Network, which allows me to watch Netflix, Crackle and Hulu Plus. In addition gameplay is smooth without delays, slowdowns or jaggies. If you can have only one system, it should be this one, and buying from Best Buy got me Best Buy Reward points. I also continue to get extra Gamer's Memebership points as well. I'm happy I bought my system there.

Great So Far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My initial thoughts were that the PS4 was going to be practically an improved PS3. I guess I was wrong. I understand the lack of available games as it is a brand new platform, but the lack of PS3 features just bums me out on this system. There is no way (so far) to load onto the internal memory, songs or pictures like the PS3 did. In doing so, playing NFS Rivals, I can't use my own music as the playlist during gameplay. The menus seem a little more complicated (IMO), but I know that part just takes a little getting used to. Just don't like how it's missing several PS3 features so that's the reason for the 4 stars only. Otherwise the graphics and refresh rate #aka gameplay smoothness) is wonderful! I have NFS Rivals on PS3 and I can definitely tell the difference with NFS Rivals for PS4.

PS4 is awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never been loyal to a specific company but I am very happy I went with a Playstation 4 over the Xbox one. The game play and graphics are superb as to be expected but the new controller design is really awesome. It sits in your hand way better then the ps3 controllers did and has a new big bottom in the middle that is also like a track pad on a laptop. The game selection is great and the Playstation plus has added tons of new features that make it that much better.

PS4-Practice Patience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As with any console, you should know not to buy the first batch as they often have kinks. Such is the case with the PS4. It's amazing and by itself it works extremely well. Amazing graphics, intuitive interface, superior controller/mic combo. Many articles have been written that PS4 is the best console at the moment for pure gaming. It's not so much an "entertainment center" as it doesn't try to connect your other devices like it's competitor. It simply is made for gaming. The games are the biggest problem right now. There aren't many of them and come of them are REALLY buggy. Take need for speed for example, if you don't buy the disc from the store, expect to be very disappointed when you download and everything loads except for the gas pedal. You have to look up on the internet how to generate a work around. Surprisingly, with the PS4, it's the free games that are the best. The game warframe which crosses over the PC with the PS4 is probably my favorite and it's free. My least favorite have been Killzone and the big name games that the magazines say are the best. They are difficult to say the least and aren't as much fun as you would think (though they look amazing). Finally, it has to be said that there is no disappointment greater than the slow release of things like the PS4 camera. You think you don't want it but then you buy the PS4 and realize that the best parts of it are the creative bizarre games that are free or low cost. One such element is the playroom where you can create toys to play with and interact with little virtual critters. It works with the camera only, and there is only one camera and it currently sells on ebay for double what it will when sony finally makes enough product. It's sad. Still, in the long run, this system surpasses the others. It is functionally more powerful and the cross-over with the PC world (new FF online is another example) has some interesting possibilities. Though one area that has already been noticeable is that the console bombs when running more advanced graphical settings that a PC could handle. Give it about 6 months and then go for it.
