Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

Simply Awesome
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is amazing! The graphics are awe-inspiring. Its a lot smaller and lighter than my first-gen PS3, as well as quieter. My only gripe is that I wish you could change the color of the player indicator on the controller. Player 1 is blue and it is way too bright for my taste. I would assume that this will be included in a patch later on. But seriously, get the PS4!

Much more than a gaming system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want to play games, watch Netflix, stream music or movies than you have to get the PS4. It didn't have very much at launch but now it has anything you could possibly need. I regretted selling my PS3 at first because of the lack of music player and a decent media player that would pick up my home server but that has all been solved. I was almost convinced into buying an XBox One because of that but I'm so glad I didn't. This thing is a beast and it looks really nice with all the other stuff I have in my living room.

Amazing system! Sony does it again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony has done it again. Another solid performer. Faster than the last Playstation, sleek new case design, and the new DualShock4 controllers are even more comfortable than the last ones.

Welcome Next Gen
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a little iffy to pick up my pre-order when I heard about all the problems people were initially facing with their launch systems. I decided to go ahead and get it since it was to be my birthday present I purchased for myself and I already had the weekend clear of work and other things to enjoy playing it. Brought it home and after downloading all the necessary updates for my system and games, I was off and running. This system is amazing, the visuals on some games like AC4, Killzone and even 2K14 are jaw dropping. This is just scratching the surface, games are going to get more and more visually impressive and I'm very excited to see the future of gaming arrive.

Best of the Next Generation Consoles
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was up and running on my new PS4 in less than fifteen minutes! Once I loaded my Playstation Plus account, I was downloading free games (in the background), and playing Call of Duty Ghosts! Graphics are amazing, load times are short, HDD is huge, system is super snappy. New dashboard looks great. The new controller feels AMAZING, the dual rumble packs rock! Add the PS Vita and play throughout the whole house on wireless. It's a cool machine. Downside, the power and eject buttons are hard to see, lights on the controllers take away battery life and glow in the dark, with no way to turn the lights off. Limited games at release, let's get more games coming. Looks great in the media cabinet, it's quiet, small and powerful.

Excellent value for the tech
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned the system for approximately 30 days now and could not be happier. Sony did a great job making a system that was powerful and relatively inexpensive. A good value overall.

Graphics and speed out-of-this-world! Quick setup.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hype was worth it. Great graphics and speed. Setup was easy. I was disappointed in the lack of online playability in some games (COD) between console generations. (i.e. PS3 and PS4), but some games do. Due to the lack of availability of PS4 units at this time, a lot of my friends who don't have one cannot play with me on the PS4. I keep the PS3 hooked up and running for that. Otherwise, nice and quiet so far, fast, and a pleasure to use.

An excellent next-gen console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Playstation 4 system is a next-gen gaming console in the Playstation family. Its performance is very good, and it's a pretty quiet system. It's still early in the console's lifespan, so the game library isn't quite there yet. Still, it is considered to have the better performance on games and its other next-gen competition. The controller battery life is a little on the short side, but you can plug it in and play while it's charging. Running Netflix or Amazon Video works well. It doesn't have a Youtube app yet, but it's supposed to be on the way. When the game library is expanded, I would make an unqualified recommendation. As it is, a purchase of it now is more for looking towards its future.

Excellent Product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Haven't owned a Sony console since the PS2, but picked up the PS4 and couldn't be happier with it. Easy set-up and user interface. Runs very smoothly and intuitively. The game library at this time is somewhat slim, but that will be changing in April/May with many releases coming out. Note: I own both the Xbox One and PS4 and both libraries are lacking as of this writing. Xbox has Titanfall coming out next week so that may add something, but PS4 has Final Fantasy and MLB: The Show coming soon. If you can't purchase both, do your homework on the game titles exclusive to both consoles and choose which to go with. Be advised, there is a charge to access the Playstation Network (PSN), but it is minimal.

PS4 Moves gaming to the next Generation
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the PS4, it has a lot of new features to offer. The new touch pad is a nice feature but not a main selling point. The speed and responsiveness of the games are amazing. The 3D gaming is impressive, played some CoD Ghosts in 3D and it was very cool. Disappointed to now have to pay to get online but so long as there isn't a security issue like there was circa summer 2011, then I am happy to pay a couple of extra $$'s. There are a lot of new features with the PS4 and still discovering them all.

Exceeded my expectations...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never used my PS3 for anything but a blu-ray/3D blu-ray movie player. I was a die-hard Xbox360 fan and bought my son a XboxOne for Christmas. A new high watermark for what I thought a next-gen gaming console should look like and perform. I finally broke down and bought a PS4 on the launch day of Watch_Dogs. All of my expectations were exceeded. The system performed faster, had a better user-interface, and displayed stunning graphics on my 65" 3D Panasonic Plasma. Blu-ray movies loaded much quicker than on my current Samsung 3D blu-ray player. The only two hang-ups were the controller and 3D blu-ray movie support. If using the controller to watch movies, care in how you set the controller down must be taken as the trigger buttons are the FF and REW functions... the trigger button sensitivity is high and can easily activate if you set the controller down too hard or fast. As of the time of this review, the system DOES NOT YET support play-back of 3D blu-ray movies. I can only hope this a feature that will be activated in a later firmware update since the PS4 DOES support 3D gaming playback... Sniper Elite III running is 3D is a truly epic experience.

Online gaming and graphics are great!

Next generation exquisiteness
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an avid gamer and Sony fan, this new system was lacking titles at first. This is why I waited till now to purchase it. It was well worth the wait as the graphics and interface are perfect (I have a Sony bravia). It's smooth layout and ease of use are key for first time buyers who are switching from Xbox or are new to gaming.

Really like the improvements
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4's OS is much improved over the PS3. The PS4 Dualshock controllers are wider than the PS3 controllers, and surprisingly feel pretty good. The triggers feel a lot nicer too. The touchpad is pretty nice, but I haven't found a use for it yet. The HDMI port does not output enough power for you to use a passive HDMI switch. In fact, I had a hard time getting the PS4 to work properly with two HDMI switches that I tried. I had no problems getting my PS3 and Sony-branded Blu-Ray player to work with the two switches. If I plugged the PS4 directly to my TV or receiver, I had no problems. For whatever reasons, HDMI switches do not want to work with the PS4 properly.

PS4!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The console is great, but there are concerns. One, the fan will sometimes sound like a hairdryer. I have never had a problem with overheating (the ps4 will shut off if it detects an overheating problem) but mine hasn't done that. Two, the controllers battery life SUCKS. that stupid light drains the battery so fast. Consider buying another controller to combat this problem. Three, the bugs. There seems to be bugs on the system even after updates. Friend chat not working (messages take hours to be seen by me or friends), a stupid "Discover" icon that pops up every time the machine turns on. The games are ok. Not a lot of first party games out at the moment. It seems to be 2016 will be a good year, until then they are riding on BloodBorne and third party success.

best system on the market
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a person who skipped the 3rd generation systems I could not be any happier with this purchase. Like its counterpart you can purchase gamed directly from the online store and download them straight to your system. The controller is comfortable and rechargeable (Xbox requires a special battery pack for this function). The only feature that it is currently lacking is the ability to play video files from an external USB device ( which should be on its way via system update)

Best gaming plataform
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Comparing in performance with others plataforms PS4 do it better but my only concern is about their network system (on line playing), lately is being opeating with some difficulties and sometimes is crashed. In december happend the lizard squad issue that put down the system for 5 days in my case and I wonder how that happened that a few guys or maybe a couple can hack a huge company plataform for many days. The other concern is that you can not play your old PS3 games what makes no sense at all. Some info has been leaked that in future you may use them but is still rumors!

Really feel good about switching to PS4
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a xbox loyalist since the original. But after last years E3, and seeing how xbox one was more of a media machine rather then a gaming machine, I was really turned off by Microsoft for that. So I decided to look into PS4 and after a few months of reading news about both and seeing the directions that both were going, I went for the PS4. I feel like I have made the right choice, the few games that I have played are graphically beautiful as well as just overall nice to try a new piece of hardware and software. Just look at the sales numbers, PS4 is dominating the Xbox one.

Great for gamers, no matter your definition
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great system and user interface. It's so quick and intuitive. Very little lag time between selecting and opening apps, standby mode is great for quick access and low power consumption, controller battery a little draining due to light, but great controller nonetheless. Low amount of AAA games but that grows steadily and indie games have been great to get into. Give them a shot for sure.

Great system, just need more exclusive games
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this as our second PS4 (so my girlfriend and I could play together). The system is great, the interface is updated nicely (although it would be better if you were able to REMOVE things from it). The controller is updated, and feels a lot better in the hands, but the battery doesn't last as long as in the PS3. The biggest downside is the lack of games designed from the ground up for the system, so the graphics are top notch... yet. While there may not be that many games for it yet, I would have purchased PS4 anyway, so this was just a purchase for the future, but able to enjoy a couple of the games for it now.
