Customers are saying
Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

Playstation 4

Awesome Next Gen console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What I love about the PS4 is the better integration of features that allow me to browse and watch media, as well as download games from the console which admittedly is not a new feature but is has definitely been made easier to get digital content. One thing that disappoints me is the number of updates with this console. It seems like every time I turn on the system I have to update before I can play. It's so much an annoyance as it is an inconvenience because the updates are quick but it seems like they could figure out a once or twice a year thing for major updates and have minor updates download in the background and install when I turn off the system and not interrupt my gameplay experience. But I guess that's the trade off for next gen graphics and more powerful and connected systems. They require more maintenance. Overall a great experience and I like it more than the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles.

Great Multimedia Device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS4 is a great every day multimedia device. This device offers great graphics during both gameplay and blu-ray movies. Whether you want to enjoy gaming(although currently the selection is limited) or streaming movies through nextflix/hulu, you will not be disappointed. With only having it for such a short time, I have yet to see some of the bugs or flaws that others may have mentioned. The start-up time for both games and movies is pretty quick, however I am comparing to the day 1 original PS3 which finally gave out on me. The controller is nicely balanced and feels solid in the hand. In all honesty, if you have a perfectly good PS3, you may consider holding off on the purchase of a PS4 b/c I haven't seen a difference large enough to justify the pricy purchase. Overall this is a great device and you won't be disappointed w/ the PS4. The only reason it receives four stars is because nothing is perfect in this world!

PS4
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Playstation 4 loads quickly, switches apps smoothly and plays games flawlessly. My PS3 slim played games flawlessly but that was kinda it. It lagged when opening apps, especially the PS store. NEGATIVE: This unit creaks when I lift it. One of the top panels seems loose but it works great so I never bothered looking into it. My other PS4 does not do this. For the first week or two, I had these terrible cramps in my left hand when gaming for about an hour or so. I assumed it was the new controller design but it finally went away after about a month or so.

Lots of Potential
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you plan on upgrading to the PS4, prepare to sacrifice most of your PS3 games. The only reason I hesitated was because of GTA 5, but I finally just gave in. The best thing about the PS4 is its' speed. Starting a game is very quick and when you want to do something else, you can quickly go out and come right back in. The camera is pretty much worhtless right now and it's impossible to find. There's really not a lot you can do with it anyway besides the Just Dance game and the Playroom, kids got bored pretty quickly with the limited activities. Graphiocs are definitely improved, I play BF4 mostly and it was quite a difference from the PS3. Am looking foward to Second Son and more games and activities for the camera.

SONY Greatness
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony's Next generation gaming console delivers a true quality gaming and social experience. Not just a gaming console but a social hub to connect with friends and family. Sharing your favorite moments just got better with the ability to broadcast your gameplay via twitch or U-stream. The user interface runs smooth, with the ability to see what your friends are playing, checking out the PlayStation store or making adjustments to your hard-drive gaming information. Take it for a test run and you will see why the PS4 is for actual and true gamers.

Good console, bad games.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The console itself isn't bad, a little slow loading some things though. Most of the "big" games on the "next gen" platform are not worth AAA price though. Games like Destiny and Evolve. In Destiny the campaign is VERY short, less than three hours, the rest of the game is being released in chunks as paid DLC, and to be frank and clear, any DLC pack+the game itself are not worth an AAA price.

Wait until there are some games.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If your on the fence I would wait until there a few more games out. There's not much out right now but if you want the newest and greatest, go for it, there will be games soon. I love the controller, much better than the PS3 controller and feels much better than the Xbone controller. I was an avid 360 player and didn't use the ps3 much because I hated the dual shock but Sony definitely got this controller right and I prefer it now to the Xbox controller. The downside to the controller is poor battery life, only last 6 or 7 hours so buy a second controller and keep plugged in at all times. At the moment the PS4 is not a DLNA media server which is pathetic being the PS3 could do this, hopefully they add support in a future update.

Amazing Gaming Console, but a Few Issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had PlayStations for years and debated upon purchasing the PS4 when released, but decided to wait about a year. Finally went ahead and made the purchase and am overall very happy with the system. The graphics are amazing! It really feels like you're watching a movie rather than a video game. The blu ray feature has always been and still is a plus to this machine. Love the controllers and all of their functions. The machine really is a solid PlayStation and I expected nothing less. My main issue with it is the lack of games available for it after a year's time and the loss of backwards compatibility. I unfortunately didn't do my research well enough on this and found out the hard way that my PS3 games would not work in this console. Had just assumed they would as the PS3 had the backwards compatibility. Once more games are available - I think this is an impressive system!

Everything you'd expect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The price is fair for a new console. The accessories are good, though the included mic (while a nice thought) feels like a rock in my ear -- I'd expect something a bit more decent considering it's Sony, an earbud manufacturer. The controller feels great, and so far I haven't had issues with the rubber wearing off, as some have reported. The battery life could be a little better, but it's whatever. Probably best to pick up a second controller anyway, if you expect any use for it at all (besides having a fully charged one at all times).

Very Happy with my PS4
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have no complaints about the PS4 so far. It is fast and the games look amazing. I only wish there were games to choose from, but, that just takes time. I would rather the controller had a changeable power pack. I tend to keep it plugged in while I play but I do wonder how many discharge cycles you actually get before the battery starts dying faster. Also, to charge the battery, any powered device with a USB port will work, you don't have to plug the controller exclusively into the PS4's USB port; the instructions didn't mention that.

Great next Gen Console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I remember back in the day when I bought Sega Genesis, it came with 1 controller, a game, and a voucher to get 2 more games ans a additional controller free, Today next Generation Consoles don't do that, as always their is a lack of games to play with, on the Arrivals of New Gen consoles, Anyways I love the new PS4, easy to set up, I been using it to watch Blue Ray movies, will be buying games later on this year to test out the gameplay
