Customers are saying

Customers express satisfaction with the PlayStation 4's impressive graphics, enjoyable controller, and ease of use. Many also praise its performance and find it to be a good value for the price. However, some customers point out the lack of backwards compatibility with previous PlayStation consoles and disappointingly short battery life of the controller. The absence of a bundled camera was also noted as a drawback by some users.

Excellent console for the price! The touchpad addition to the controller is fantastic. This bad boy will get many years of use. I can't wait to see the next line of titles that arrive within the next few months!

I didn't expect much as far as improved game graphics and performance, but THERE IS! The new controllers are much nicer and feel better in my hands. Haven't upgrade my HD space, but I now have the option to. This things has plenty of hardware to support some nice patches for improvements in the future. Remember how the PS3 games looked when it first came out and got much better.... I can't imagine what games for the PS4 will looks like in a few years.

While there may not be many games for the PS4 out as of yet- the games that are out for it shine on the PS4. While more advanced than the PS3, I wouldn't call it Light years ahead, but then again, that's how it usually seems for the first few games on a new console. So far, it lives up to expectations. It does however get rather loud while playing a resource intensive game for at least 20 minutes or so- even if placed in an area of good ventilation.

With it's lower price than the Xbox One, Sony's PS4 is a console worth buying. Amazing graphics, flawless controller, fast user interface and competitive pricing hands down the PS4 is the game console for now.

The PS4 is Sony's most attractively designed piece of hardware. It's a beautiful system, with a sharp, slightly angled profile accented by a light bar that acts as a console status indicator. On the back, PS4 has gone digital-only with HDMI/optical ports, and no analog audio or video outputs. We appreciate the internal power supply — it sounds like a small thing, but it's one less object to sit on the shelf next to or behind the PlayStation 4.

The PS4 is an amazing system. The graphics are insanely smooth and crisp. The details in the games are mind blowing. The things that I don't like is that it's not backwards compatible, meaning you can't play ps3 games on it. For the price, that should be a given considering ps3 was backwards compatible. Plus you can't play outside audio and video files like you could on ps3. This doesn't bother me as much because if I want to play music or video clips, I'll use a computer or something. But since it was on ps3, why take it away. They took it away so they can try to force you to use their music and video apps that they have installed and cost money. But I bought this system to play games and it kicks butt at that.

The next generation starts now. Loaded with top notch hardware and a silky smooth interface, Ps4 looks to dominate. The game lineup through 2014 looks amazing and Im looking forward to long hours of riviting game experiences. The Ps4 is easy to setup and get going.. 10 minutes max! Download some demos and choose the ones you like the most. Ps+ is highly recommended. You get monthly free games and assorted discounts on new titles! Greatness Awaits!

It's a great console, has an amazing price, greate exclusives already (more to come). Now u must pay the Playstation plus IF u want to play online and u might think that this is bad , but, NOPE for 2 reasons , is very cheap if u buy for a whole year and PSN gives 2 games a month for free é also great discounts in some other great games and not only in ps4 ,if you're using the same account in ps3 an Playstation vita you also get this bonuses.

Set up is very easy and the built in Wi-Fi makes network connectivity a breeze. As for the Power and Eject buttons, I prefer a tactile push button over the passive touch sensitive type.

Next Gen Game Console from Sony

If Sony had included at a minimum the features already present in the PS3, this would have gotten 5 stars, but the shortcomings are going to take years of updates to compensate. No DLNA support, no CD playback or ripping to MP3s, no backwards compatibility for PS3 games, no PS Home, etc. Thus far the game library (including those available on PS Plus) is very limited. Of course this will improve over time, but for now you'll have your PS4 off most of the time waiting for a new game to release. So what did Sony do right to get my 3 star rating....the new controller is really nice. Fits well in the hand and the touchpad shows great promise. The graphics are excellent and gameplay is much smoother compared to similar PS3 titles. The PS4 boots quickly and does automatic update downloads & charges the controller if you leave it in standby mode (console is off, but not completely). The most recent update (1.75) brought 3D Blu-Ray playback to the PS4. So overall it is a good system, but the lack of titles and features we have come to take for granted from other consoles, PCs, laptops, etc. keep it from being a great system. Eventually as the game library grows and the updates trickle out it will be a great system, but it may take a few years to get there. I received it as a gift and do enjoy playing games on it, but I probably would have waited longer to get one if I had been purchasing it for myself.

Let be start out by saying I own an Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and now a PS4. It is quite great! The graphics are slightly above that of Xbox One, and beyond Ps3 and Xbox 360, as expected from a next-gen console. The connection speeds are a little slower than that of PS3 (mainly because of the LAN reciever hardware), but most popular games have dedicated online servers for next-gen. So this really isn't a problem. I recommend this for any gamer!

Love the PS4, hopefully it'll live for 5-10 years like the last generation of consoles did. Really enjoying it so far. The only thing I don't like is the new DS4 controller has a pretty short battery life when compared to the DS3. I'm assuming this has to do with the light bar built into the controller which is pretty pointless in my opinion. The Li Ion battery in the controller is also nearly 1/4th of what's inside the DS3... odd choice.

Playstation still holds the crown of the gaming systems war. Although this time around it was a close one. I think if Xbox One had a better game library, playstation would be in serious trouble. With that said!! This is playstation 4, Blue Ray capable, better controls, not bulky, space efficient, and huge game line up. What more could you ask for?
