The PS4 is great. Between Playstation Plus and the Free to Play offerings you don't even need to buy a game to jump in and have a great time. The new user interface is a big improvement over the PS3's XMB, but still leaves room for improvement along the lines of sorting and filter options.

I Was So Excited When I Went To Best Buy And Bought This Sony PS4. The Only Issue Was That The PSN Was Still Down But Other Than That, Its Perfect.

After some major missteps during the launch of their previous console, Sony came back strong with PS4. Strong on both the hardware and software fronts and very competitively priced, the PS4 is a pleasure to experience. The software will come, but the hardware is here now and it's fantastic.

The graphics and user interface are solid, but this platform lacks what the PS3 was already capable of doing. This includes the ability to store and play songs, and to enable streaming of songs. Even using third party apps like Plex don't work with the PS4. The reason is Sony wants you to use their paid audio service and doesn't allow users to play their own music. This is a huge step backwards from the PS3, which was more of an open system. On the gaming front, there are a few good ones out there, but the only one I currently have is MLB The Show. The graphics on the PS4 are much improved, but it isn't quite as phenomenal as I would have liked. The frame rates, for example, can get rather choppy on MLB The Show. Media playback through services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon are good, but I can't give the PS4 a thumbs up until they allow users a little more freedom to do their own thing, like stream music or play mp3's on the box itself. I know there are many PS4 users out there who are making noise, so I expect a change in the future.

Power is easily noticed, by way of beautiful games and quickly getting through the PS4 menu options. On a PS3 such tasks caused slow lag times which made you question why you paid so much. Games are few and far between. The third quarter of 2014 and 2015 should fix this problem though.

For the price, it's hard to beat the many functions of the PS4. It'll play BluRays, allow you to download games (some of them free) from the PS Store, and offers the best gameplay. As the PS4 online experience grows, I'm sure my happiness about the purchase will also continue to grow.

If you're picking up a ps4 you've probably done your research. I can attest that it meets whatever expectiations you may have. Games look great and play smoothly. You should be aware that playing online games may require you to open ports in your router settings for multi-player games.

Sony listened to gamers and developers, making a system more focused on games that was easier to develop for (compared to the complex architecture of the PS3). DualShock 4 is a little bigger and feels better than previous versions. PSN massively improved. Overall great strides from Sony.

I brought this system the day it came out and I believe that it will keep entertained for years to come Sony make some of the greatest electronics hands down. I would def suggest buying the system for yourself, Grand Kid's, Husband's, Wife's, Daughter's or Son's it is well worth the money.

Hesitated on puchasing because of limited games but honestly, 100% worth the money. System is very easy to navigate and very user friendly. Would definitely reccommend to a friend.

I wanted a gaming system. I wasn't concerned about a camera or apps, although it does have good ones. I am very pleased with the ps4. Some may complain about a lack of games but they are coming. Also, my ps4 is in a media closet and it works great with the controller even through a wall.

Love everything about it . Would be nice if would hold more games since you have to download into the system. More games please. Overall very happy with it . Love that you can rent movie on it and have them for 30 days. Also well priced especially compared to renting on demand , on the tv

I purchased this for my 15 year old son and his review is as follows: The games rock, the controller is better than Xbox, the online gaming experience is better. It's just better. The rest of the comments have been omitted to protect those with delicate sensibilities...and Xbox fans.

Well I picked up the ps4 at launch and couldn't be happier with my purchase. The controller is the best I've ever played with and the interface is easy to navigate and very fast in response. Although I still have plenty of games to play on the ps3, I find myself playing the ps4 primarily.

After reading at least 20 reviews/blogs/publications comparing the XBox One to the PS4, I decided to take the leap and purchase this system. We bought the system, an extra controller, the camera, and a couple of games. This system will be used as a family system and hasn't disappointed so far. My wife and daughter love Just Dance, despite the game's mostly bad reviews and I really enjoy NBA 2K12. This system can and will be a great system for families. The voice recognition will get better and it will end up being slightly better than the XBox One. ***Wish List - If Apple would purchase Sony and integrate into the Playstation, it would hands-down be the better system.*** I know that's not going to happen, but seriously, go out and purchase this system. You won't regret it.

I had an Xbox360 original and upgraded to the PS4. I went with the PS4 as I wanted it more for gaming and the blue-ray player...then for all the other apps/functions out there. So far the graphics have been great and the games run smoothly...either by downloading or inserting a disk.

My son got this PS4 for Christmas. It was a great deal. The PS4 looks great on our tv, very HD! I only wish they would make more games (esp multiplayer) for younger kids since my son is only 7.
