I can say I am happy to have upgraded. The first pro unit I purchased crashed and burned in the first few weeks. Multiplayer gameplay would cause the system to shut off and required a reboot. Took it back and exchanged and have been happy since. The frame rate and graphic improvements are noticeable. System runs a bit more quiet than the standard PS4 but also runs hotter than the standard. Still wish the unit came with an ultra HD bluray player. Wouldn't mind spending another $100 on this unit if it came with the 4K player.

I sold my PS4 to a buddy and bought the PS4 Pro to replace it. Games that output to 4K ( not many out there yet ) like Final Fantasy 15 look amazing, but not signifantly different from the PS4. Games like Rocket League are smoother and render signifantly better, but the overall gameplay doesn't change. I wouldn't recommend buying unless you don't have a PS4. Also doesn't seem like a good buy unless you also own a 4K, HDR TV and have streaming services in 4K. Otherwise, wait until the next gen consoles come out.

With the advent of PS5 and the next XBOX (whatever it's called), I felt it was time to get on the PS4 bandwagon. I have this connected to a 4K LG TV and I have to say the graphics are amazing. So is the sound. Clearly Sony know what they are doing. Bought Spiderman 2018 right away and have been enjoying the Uncanny Valley ever since. The game is good, the graphics are great and the game play, a bit grindy, but still all around good fun. If any of these exist in the market place after the world shut down in 2020, and you can get one cheap ($250 or less), this will probably be a good buy. But if it's still $400.00 and the PS5 is say $100.00 more, you should probably go with the PS5. TL;DR: great game system (but still not as good a PC! PCMR forever!)

Was in between a bind if I should buy the slim or the pro.. I'm glad I got the pro it's quiet and runs like crazy.. I've had s gaming session of 12 hours one day.. and it wasn't even running hot.. it got warm but not hot.. It's a awesome system and I most def. recommend it..

This is a must have if you have a 4K TV. Not every game has a patch for 4K but some do.

it's faster and a bit better than the old model, and a little more convenient for VR.

Read the reviews while trying to decide which console to get. I'm not a huge gamer and have owned a PS3 a while back. I liked that upon initial start up, you were walked through the setup which was extremely easy. The games load up fast and the picture quality is impressive.

I don't have a 4K tv, but I decided to get the PS4 pro because I know that in the next 6 months I will get a 4K tv. In the mean time I love how fast the pro is, and for most of the games I've played, they have updated the game for faster frames-per-second. Highly recommend

Great gaming console and perfect for streaming picture on games is amazing but beware this does NOT play 4K ultra hd Blu-ray Discs. If that doesn't bother you go for the PS4 if it does then stick with the XBOX One.

If you don't have a PS4, this is the version to get. It offers 4K streaming and allows you to play many PS4 games in higher resolution. Some games offer better performance and true native 4K resolution. Last of Us offers native 4K and HDR. Many other games offer near-4K resolution with better effects. Rise of the Tomb Raider is an example. All future games will offer PS4 Pro benefits as well. The system isn't perfect as it does not offer 4K Blu Ray support. It is also bottlenecked by the weak Jaguar CPU cores found in the standard and slim PS4. With that said, for $400 you're getting a much better GPU (2.3 x more powerful), 4K streaming, and a 1TB HDD. These are all gains, with no losses over the standard PS4 with a modest price increase.

I was greeted with courtesy when I walked in the store. I was looking for a ps4 pro, and the staff made the experience very pleasant. They helped me make the final decision to purchase the ps4 pro much easier. The ps4 pro has excellent graphics, and runs beautifully.

This is a must if you own a 4k tv. This well make games look sharper and also allows for full 4k capability. Improve graphics and storage with options to expand internal storage with a external drive or easily replaceable internal hd.

I had a PS4 since day 1. Having a pro is like putting a super charger in your car, it just breaths new life to your games. So far, a pretty good handful of games support the pros enhancements. And the games that don't support it, benefit from a better frame rate.

Have wanted a new gen PS4 for quite awhile now and could finally justify purchase. Set up is a breeze and was playing in no time flat. Currently enjoying God of War.........not only looks fantastic , but great gameplay and story. Good job Sony.
