If you've got a 4K TV, have a tons of games you want to store locally & have a faster internet connection than the pro is what you want. I personally don't see a big difference in graphics (I don't have 4K) besides being smoother and speed is not that noticeable. However I love being able to connect to my 5.0ghz wifi and have the TB hard drive & the overall design of the console is far superior than the original.

works great with the XBR-55X700D and STRDH770

At the time of purchase, BestBuy had a sweet deal with the PlayStation 4 pro and the XBR - 55x700d for 999.99. Pick them both up. Set up was smooth and I had no issues with 4K and HDR. I also picked up the str - dh770 and with all 3 I had no issues. I've read on many different forms how many people are having problems with a in compatible TV or TV and receiver but I can tell you that with all three of these components, I'm getting full HDR and 4K with the no issues. The PlayStation 4 is not for everybody and if you're not really into 4K then stay with the PlayStation 4 Slim. I only see a slight increase in picture quality and graphics with the PS4 Pro but there's not that mini games out that take advantage of the Playstation 4 power.

    Amazing 4k Console

The PlayStation Pro is an amazing 4k gaming console. It will be great for 1080p TVs as well. Do not listen to these negative reviews they are Xbox fanboys that give PS4 negative reviews to persuade people to buy an Xbox. The PS4 Pro is a very powerful console with a large library of beautiful looking games and many exclusives. Don't let the lack of 4k drive turn you away, 4k movies are expensive and physical disc sales are on a decline and that is why Sony opted out a 4k drive on the Pro. Many of these people complaining about no 4k drive won't buy 4k movies. The Pro can stream 4k HDR from services like Netflix. The console runs very quiet and stays cool. You will not be disappointed in this console.

Upgraded Game Quality (From a 1080P Perspective)

    Posted .

I just got my PS4 Pro yesterday- a day earlier than expected, but hey- I was excited it did! The sooner the better, yeah? So upon firing it up, transferring all my data from my original PS4 (which didn’t take long considering I was near full on the old one), and what have you- I was eager to try out the games that were Pro ready including the PSVR. Mind you, I ran this on a nice 1080p television. I tried out games that were both Pro ready and non along with turning on the Boost Mode (Settings>System>Boost mode) and saw some improvements on the framerate. The hues, dynamic lighting, and sharper image made the game stand out in comparison to the old PS4. Add to it there are slight more texture quality on Pro games as well. Honestly, I saw no difference in the loading times as I played games on both systems to see which look and ran faster though, which really is not an issue. Next, I put on my PSVR to see how that is on the Pro. The VR games ran smoother framerates such as Gran Turismo Sport, Dirt Rally, Drive Club VR (Yeah, I am a racing fanatic and the sole reason why I bought a PSVR), etc, etc. Games that tend to drop framerate at certain points due to high volumes of objects moving at once were resolved. That, and add all the previously mentioned improvements before and I will say it is a win on that part. In conclusion, was it worth getting? (In my opinion) It surely is if you are looking to get your first PS4. Otherwise, like what I and a lot other original owners did- just take your time getting it unless you are an avid PSVR player. I am certain there is a very noticeable difference on a 4K versus a 1080P television and I look forward to seeing it for myself in the future.

PS4 Pro Is The Ultimate PS4 Experience

    Posted .

I was on the fence about upgrading from the original PS4 to the PS4 Pro. Having just purchased a 4k TV, I was uncertain if the upgrade was truly necessary. Having taken the plunge I can safely tell you it was absolutely worth it. The interface is far more responsive than on the original PS4 & aside from the flimsy feel to the new physical Power & Eject buttons on the system itself the entire system has a feel of quality to it. A quick note for anyone buying this for HDR or 4K gaming, the HDMI cable which comes with the system will deliver full 4K & HDR signals so there's no need for an additional cable purchase. I was unfortunately told otherwise prior to my purchase but upon hooking everything up & coming to this realization, BestBuy was more than accommodating on returning the unopened RocketFish 4K HDMI cable.

Great console to go with your 4k TV

I have owned a PS4 since it came out, but recently upgraded my living room TV to a 82 inch 4K TV, and wanted to make sure I had the best experience. For that reason, I decided to upgrade to a PS4 Pro. PS4 is a great console and has some amazing exclusives. While the upgrade isn't as monumental as PS3 to PS4, there is definitely a noticeable improvement in the quality (esp on a large 4k tv). My one complaint about the PS4 is that you really need to control the disc playback through the controller. I wish there was a better way to integrate with my Harmony.

This console exist solely for the hardcore gamer. This is an advanced version of the console with an overclocked GPU and 4K and HDR that is something to behold if you witnesses it in person. Everyone who is complaining about the UHD player not included in the console. Here's the reason, the number of consumers who have used the PS4 and PS3 when it picked up traction using NETFLIX was the #1 streaming device for all content. This is exactly why they didn't include the UHD on the PS4 PRO. YOU consumers clearly made it so, MORE people are streaming watching there content than they are buying $30 UHD Blurays to watch one movie. It makes sense across the board, this console is future proofing moving forward with the technology of 4K and HDR and enhancing future game titles with improving everything developers can do with. If you all want a UHD player for $300 get the Xbox One S, clearly that is what many of you are interested in and less on games having 4K support as well. This is a VIDEO GAME platform first and a multimedia entertainment system second.

I picked this up on its release date and been loving it since. I owned the original PS4 when that first launched and it ran flawless up to the day I traded it in to upgrade the pro. The main reason I wanted the upgrade was to get rid of the annoying fan on my oh PS4 that would force me to turn my tv up higher just to hear what i was seeing everything else the Pro would do on top of having a quieter fan was a plus i.e. Added frame rate, a visual boost on 4K as well 1080p displays on certain games and the reduction of load times. It's now a week later and I am very satisfied with my upgrade.

I did not have a chance to compare it apples to apples to the regular PS4 but this one is great. I had to get it since I have a 4K HDR high-end TV set-- wouldn't want to make that go to waste. I love the earphones on the controller, I can play while my 4-year old is asleep-- but I think you have it on the regular PS4 too. I do hear the fan every so often, but that's because I've been playing Horizon Zero Dawn which could be graphics intensive. Oh, the connection to the Harmony Hub seems to drop-- that's one horrible thing. Other than those, everything seems to be great.

A BEAST of a gaming console!

I never thought I would prefer Playstation 4 over my Xbox One, but that all changed after I got my PS4 Pro. I am enamored with how beautiful some of my favorite games like Titanfall 2, The Last Guardian and Paragon look on it. I can't wait to boot up some other Pro supported titles like The Last of Us, For Honor, Horizon Zero Dawn, etc. The only thing I wish is that it came with a game and a slightly better controller than the standard dual shock 4. A pro console deserves a Pro controller. Other than that I have not one complaint and am in love with "Pro!" ;)

    Worth the extra money

Definitely a great gaming console most games look stunning and at 60fps but operating system and ps store could be better. Sony could take a cue from Xbox in that respect. Controller is virtually the same except for the addition of a thin strip across the touch pad that acts the same as the front light. Btw the hard drive only has 860ish GB of available storages FYI. Not sure current PS4 should upgrade unless you're planning to get the ps VR then you'll definitely need the extra graphics power the PRO offers otherwise save your money.

Ah, a new classic! The PS4 and its Pro counterpart will go down in history as maybe the best generation of consoles ever. The slate of PS exclusive and first party games on this machine is certainly my favorite from all the way back to the first Nintendo. Some others come close, (SNES, might beat it but let’s forget about that for now) but you’ll certainly find something to love here. Sure, Next Gen has arrived. PS5 may offer you whisper quiet console performance you don’t have to blow your speakers out to hear over. The most responsive and innovative haptic controller to ever grace your clutched palms. A UI of blistering speed and panache, a console design that resembles a European Modern Art Museum... But that is all for not if the games ain’t there. And for the vast majority of year one you’re going to be playing games that the PS4 supports. This thing will be chugging along for years to come. And good on it. I love it and thank it for all the great times. Now, will I kick it to the curb if I can ever manage to buy the new shiny white monolith? You better believe it! But it will live on, in the mind, in the heart, In the cloud, on the hard drive. Cheers PS4, Cheers.

I had one of the ps4's that came out and had issues with it after awhile such as overheating and the discs randomly ejecting. I traded it in for credit to buy this one plus I got a gift card from a new phone through best buy so ended up not spending too much, So far it does seem like its a upgrade somewhat but not mind blowing difference. Extra storage is nice. I have to really wait and see when I get a 4k TV and more games start supporting more enhancements So far a happy buyer,.

Before I spent the $399 for this PS4 Pro at Best Buy, I read plenty of comments and reviewed sites such as CNET. I had a purchased an LG UHD television from Best Buy before getting the PS4 Pro and I am amazed at the details in the graphics. I had previously owned the latest PS3 but did not buy the original PS4 because I was waiting to see where Sony was upgrading to next. I am very pleased with this system and would recommend it. I am glad I waited for this version.
