Good console.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Can't really notice the graphic improvements between this and the original PS4 but the HDR and 1440 support is appreciated on my 4K TV.

not much difference if you don't have 4k
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my son for Christmas but we returned it being he said he couldn't tell any difference between it and his original ps4. We did notice that the wifi chip is much improved but that wasn't worth $399 to us as he doesn't have an issue with lag. We do not have a 4k tv, just a 1080p, so could be a big difference if you do-can't comment to that. This costs quite a bit more than the ps4 so was not worth the upgrade.

Good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It would be nice if more games were already available. I bought a new TV too and can't tell a difference yet.

Awesome console, poor quality controller
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.2 Stars coz i only get to enjoy for 2 days. I got this for christmas and 2 days later, the controller that came with it will not charge or respond. Sony support will just tell you to follow their procedure, no offer of temporary replacement while you wait till they fix it.. You have to wait 10 days to get your controller back. Oh and you will be paying for shipping too. Nice, no? So frustrating , very inconvenient way to deal with the problem...so no matter how awesome the console is, if you cant use it because of a badly made controller....you are in for a HUGE disappointment. oh yeah another solution ...buy another one...and then maybe another one ...and another one. *sigh* So disappointed i couldnt play the games i just bought coz i was impressed with the powerful all new PSP4 Pro.

PS4 Pro cant handle native 4K :(
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was exited to find out what sony had in mind, but after going online for more information that sony did not inform (or at least i didn't see). Was the fact that the ps4 pro cant handle native 4k at 60fps. I would love to have this unit but at a much lower price point by at least 150 buck off.

Overrated. Stick to PS4 500GB.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Search "PS4 pro black screen" before purchasing. One of the reasons for purchasing this system is to play it on a 4k screen yet many of us are having issues with the system connected to a 4k tv. Would not recommend a PS4 pro at least until the issue is resolved.

4K PS4
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Get the PS4 Pro if you will utilize PS VR Headset or have a 4K TV and/or if you are planning to upgrade to a 4K TV. If not, the original PS4/PS4 Slim would be the system of choice since both have HDR capabilities.

Overall, impressive system with gaping omissions
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a brief review since much has already been covered. My low rating has to do with the glaring omission of a 4k blu ray player. Sony set the bar in the past including 3D blu ray and they really missed the boat excluding this component especially considering they are the company that developed blu ray. I've read reviews about individuals not concerned since they stream exclusively but i consider that short sighted. I also stream extensively but this console is part of my home theater, requiring, unnecessarily, another component just to play 3D 4k content. Bad decision Sony

Sony did NOT think the Pro through!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read reviews and have always been a big Sony supporter, until recently. First off, the Pro is NOT an upgrade to the original. I bought Diablo 3 on the original PS4 and had 0 issues playing it. Then I purchased the Pro, believing I was upgrading & boy was I wrong!! Diablo freezes after about 10 minutes of play. I reported the crashes, every time!! Sony did NOTHING!! I pre-ordered Destiny 2, it is 7/23 & still cannot complete the very first mission of the early access Beta!! Reported it to Bungie & Sony! Guess what? NO response!! It was only when I Googled troubleshooting tips that I found out that the PS4 Pro has issues with Destiny 2 Beta AND Diablo 3 (coincidence that both developers begin with "B"? Hmm)!! I finally had enough of Sony and Bungie throwing up weak solutions in their troubleshooting tips, on their websites. The typical "it's their fault" throwbacks! Bungie even blamed RUSSIA language on system, as a problem!! REALLY!! Guess Bungie is running for the next American Presidency with their blame Russia antics lol! Anyways, Sony lost me as a loyal customer, I bought an XBox One S.....Bye Sony!! Learn to make good products Sony!! Have been able to play everything on Xbox thus far, with no lag or crashes!! DO NOT waste your money on this garbage system!! A NES is an improvement over this system!! Heck, even an Atari is better....so sad!! Would not recommend this system to my WORST enemy!!

Not worth money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.6 reasons why to get xbox one s over ps4 pro. Just to mention I do own both systems but if I had to choose one I would go with xbox one s. Here is why. 1 xbox has uhd player built in ps4 not. Considering buying a uhd player cost just as much as a ps4. 2 this holiday xbox one s comes bundled with all 5 halo games for $299.99. More that's $100 cheaper than ps4. 2 xbox live service blows psn out of the water. Psn has too many outages. 3 exclusive games ps4 has uncharted 4 now to me that's the only good exclusive they have. Wait the last of us too but I can play that on ps3. Xbox has gears of war 4, halo 5 and collection, forza, recore and dead rising 3&4 but don't get me wrong ps4 has some good one coming out later on days gone and God of war but this is later not now. 4 xbox play anywhere if u havee a pc some games u buy digitally u can play on xbox one and pc and I only buy once. 5 backwards compatibility some 360 games u can play on xbox one. Not all games but it's still growing. Ps4 has ps4 now where u can play ps3 and ps2 games for 100 a year. That's my reasons to buy xbox one over ps4. If in no rush wait for xbox project Scorpio it will destroy both systems I'm hearing.

PS4 Rookie
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A complete swing and miss on Sony’s part not to include a 4k player in the PS4 Pro. The Xbox One S does it for $299. A huge error in my opinion. They’re basically trying to get you to pay $400 for a Roku that plays games! All 4k Tvs already have 4k streaming apps as does stand alone streaming units already on the market that does HDR now and or will with the next release wave coming anytime. The leading manufacturer of 4k Tvs, projectors, UHD discs and a 4k streaming service that they don't even include in their own product! They’re all in on the 4k bandwagon but yet refuse to include a player with the premiere product in their 4k lineup that has the potential to give them the majority of the market share and push the 4k format to the next level which would bring millions of consumers still on the fence to adopt the format exponentially! Not everyone has the internet speed to even push 4k streaming to their homes. Streaming can never match the picture quality of a physical disc. To top it off, they’re adding HDR capabilities to all current PS4’s and to the PS4 Slim disqualifying any need for the more expensive option of the Pro.

Great for Gaming...Nothing Else
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was pumped to finally get my PS4 and unleash the power of my 4k 60" Sony Bravia TV. I hooked up the PS4 Pro only to find out that you cannot get Youtube TV on it, which made my purchase 50% worthless. Then, I found out that the VUDU app won't play 4K. I'm taking this back today and switching over to an Xbox One X so that I can actually use the apps I need.

Mixed Feelings
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well, I bought this, never owning a gaming console in my life, and I must say, I AM NOT IMPRESSED, I have tried REPEATEDLY to connect to the internet, THIS HAS ONLY WORKED ONCE. So, I am thinking about returning it to get the cheaper older version, regular PS4. Get $100.00 back, I mean how much faster can the pro be, really?

Buyer Beware!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The disc drive stopped working on my PS4 Pro about six months after it was purchased. I shipped the PS4 Pro to Sony to have them fix it but they refused to do so without paying $150 first. They said that because the PS4 wasn't working they wouldn't fix it!! Sounds crazy, right? Video game consoles have a history of having problems. Don't buy a PS4 Pro. It is a giant gamble because if something goes wrong, Sony WILL NOT fix it.

Pricey - Lacks 4K BD
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.4K BD may not be the future, but it will be our present for a long time, while streaming bitrates are so poor. You just can't compare until everybody has gigabit internet at home. The cheapest version of the new Xone has the 4K BD drive and this new best version of the ps4 ( so far) has not. Why not? It's pricey!

Great concept but what happened to the UHD player?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I see that this is for hardcore gamers but man it woudnt have hurt to add that UHD player.... I mean the competition is doing it for $100 less and with more features? Console gaming should be for casual to semi hardcore gamers for anything else you might as well get a really good PC from BestBuy

No UHD disk playback!!! Stay away and don't buy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking fora 4k UHD Blu-Ray Player then save your money and purchase a Samsung UBD-K8500 4K blu-ray player! Since Sony dropped the ball and did not read their own information regarding what age group uses the PS4 the most and of that group the primary usage: gaming or movies!

Unclear or Don't Understand
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I find it odd that these game consoles at one time could hook up to any TV but now, anymore, you wonder what TV the console will work on because you don't want to pay over $400 for a gaming system, take it home and find out that it isn't compatible,it won't work on your TV

So Disappointed!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been holding out for this console for the longest time in hope that it would feature a UHD Blu-ray Drive like its competitor, the XBOX One S. I cannot fathom why Sony, who is a leader in 4K technology would leave something so important out. Not only will we miss out on the UHD Blu-rays, but imagine what triple layer 100GB discs could handle for the PS4 Pro! Such a missed opportunity for Sony. People are buying up UHD Blu-rays right and left, and people who want to game and watch 4K movies on the same device, will only have one option. The XBOX One S.
