Finally decide to upgrade from my PS4 Pro. Loading games is fast, while adding external USB SSD drive is also quite responsive in loading PS4 games. Running games at 4K 60hz is smooth. I have a narrow cabinet shelf space that only offer one inch gap above and about 2 inches to each side. That seem to be plenty for the machine not to start loud fans. But of course this is run during winter with temps in the 60s. Will update if this doesn't hold up in the summer time.

The PS5 is a gaming monster that is more consumer friendly than the Xbox Series X. It is very easy to add any SSD that meets Sony’s requirements. Unlike Xbox which forces you to buy a seagate expansion SSD thats double the price of a SSD you can buy for PS5. The PS5’s SSD is also way faster than Xbox’s so games load a little quicker. You can buy different side plates for it. Games look and run BEAUTIFULLY on it. Especially insomniac’s Spider-Man series. Those games look so good on this console! PS5 has arguably better exclusives than Series X (Nintendo is the only first party developer than can give them a run for their money right now imo). The Dualsense controller is AMAZING. The haptics on it are out of this world. I don’t want this review to sound like console war bs. I own and love Series X and even Switch but when it comes down to next gen console gaming PS5 wins hand over fist. So if that’s your primary interest go with the PS5. Microsoft is much better about backwards compatibly and game pass is a better gaming catalog/streaming service than PlayStation’s PS Extra/Premium so only choose xbox over PS if you care more about that. The exclusivity advantage that PlayStation has may shrink now that games like avowed/ES6/and Fable are on the way but as of 2023 PS5 is still clearly the next gen King.

Longtime PlayStation owner who finally upgraded to the PS5, and I’m very impressed. The original model is a little large, but runs great and is super quiet. It was easy to install and looks beautiful even on my tv that’s a few years old at this point. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to upgrade, and maybe an external drive as the memory fills up quick.

Great console, superior performance, wonderful controller features. Sleek design. As an Xbox fanatic since forever, I find myself always missing this controller. I like how it feels, except for the thumbstick placement. It takes some getting used to, but the D pad is one of the best out of current gen consoles. Great budget option for high end gaming capabilities when you compare it to the current GPU/PC Market.

The Ps5 is a great console, everything about it is an upgrade from the ps4, What really make it stand out is the Ssd, you can start and play Horizon forbidden west within 40 seconds, And other titles if optimized for it and the performance you get is also very good, unfortunately gamer devs do not know how to optimize games sometimes, some issues that could come up is controller drift, There’s still a possibility of that happening due to the controller design and the battery life can last 6-8 hours which is probably the most your gonna be gaming anyway, Another issue is the rumor for the ps5 pro…… I dont think That the ps5 pro is a good option over the base model, you cant go over 60fps if you don’t have a 120 Hz tv or monitor which will run you about 800$+ for a tv and if you want a 4k 120hz monitor that will run you about 600$ and higher, a bit cheaper but you sacrifice size, if you can’t afford that then your stuck with 60fps/Hz, so the pro would be useless other than 4k native 60 maybe,RDNA 2 Architecture is decent for what it is and if the pro model is getting RDNA 3, At that point build a pc cause you’re gonna get more vaule off a actual gpu with RDNA 3, other than those issues the Ps5 is a great console with great exclusive and a powerful APU.

Incredible machine, this thing cooks and the graphics are above and beyond what was expected. Sony really puts out a top quality product and has since the start. there is a reason I have been a loyal PlayStation person, the quality and value in the product and this newest iteration is right in line with what was expected. My only gripe? It is on the larger size.

Noticeable difference in speed/loading time compared to the ps4. This is pretty fast and the 4k feature is great when paired with a nice 4k tv. It's a little big but I don't mind. I love how it looks and the color.

So, it’s strange that Best Buy knows I have this. This was actually bought for me as a gift from my boyfriend. Which I should point out we don’t share any accounts or anything. Yet Best Buy knows somehow that I own it. Anyways. I enjoy my PS5. It has the option to put a passcode to unlock which previously I had issues on my PS4 of my nieces getting on without my consent. Which as you can imagine led to games being played and things being bought (specifically in game like Fortnite vbucks being used). It’s quick to download and update games as needed. Downside is the storage. It’s not as big as my PS4. I also love the fact you can order covers to put on instead of the white. Also other downside it tends to put itself in rest mode once a day when I’m in the middle of a game. Which is weird. Like it’s happened when I was spectating without touching the controller. speaking of the controller it’s reactive(?) like playing call of duty the trigger button has more of a need to push in (like you can feel it being a little harder to push in.)

Good console but a bit too bulky. I found that the disc feature is not needed now with everything being digital and all. Performs well under pressure as long as you keep it clean. Horrible standard storage and original controller doesn’t last long. It’s a rushed to be built system that’s overpriced. They don’t make them like they use to anymore.

Its a pretty bulky system but its operating speed and graphic capabilities are pretty incredible. It runs much smoother than ps4 and loading times has become next to nothing. I'm actually pretty impressed with this. The fact i can play my ps4 discs on it as well, major plus.
