Ok great console for this generation had a lot of fun purchasing it looking forward to seeing more

Wanted one since release and finally snagged one! I went with the digital because I only had 2 disc games for my PS4 and I usually buy everything online so it wasn't a big deal. Also that extra $100 is enough for their Sony headset which you'll want to get, the console makes all games 3D audio. If you are in a FPS and something happens behind you to your right by 3 meters you will literally hear exactly that. It's incredible

I love it, Spider-Man Miles Morales looks amazing on this system and PS4 games look really good too.

I was fortunate enough to preorder one and get it on launch day. Feel very thankful for that. Took a couple days off work to usher in next-gen on PS5. I’ve been playing since launch day and here’s my takeaway so far... Console itself: It’s BIG. But the size has purpose and that’s ventilation and cooling. I have the disc version and other then when I put in a disc and hear the drive itself initially while it reads the disc, the console is silent! I had to put it sideways under my TV so it’d fit lol. But it’s grown on me sitting that way and it seriously looks like a piece of art. It’s beautiful! UI: When I first powered on PS5 and got through the setup process, I was greeted by the 4K HDR UI... and it’s GORGEOUS! You can see right away why they went with the design they did. If you have a 4K HDR TV, each game has its own section and the detail and colors just POP. I literally stared at it for a few minutes when I first saw it, and still do before starting a game lol. The UI itself is FAST, simple and clean, extremely snappy and fluid. Looks and works fantastic! SSD: This is the centerpiece of the PS5. It’s what Cerny talked about at the deep dive and now I see why... UI is lightning fast because of it. Everything loads instantly. Launching games literally takes seconds and once you’re in games, everything just flies. Loading times are just seconds for next-gen games and significantly reduced for BC games. And as game developers have said, it’ll significantly improve how games look, feel and function. It is THE difference maker going into next-gen! Along with the IO compression block Sony engineered. It’s pretty much the reason(besides scumbag scalpers) that PS5‘s aren’t available and everyone wants one. Controller: Normally, you wouldn’t really see a controller as a key feature of a console. However, that absolutely changes with the DualSense controller! It’s heavier and more ergonomic than the DS4. The new haptic feedback and adaptive triggers can be absolutely game changing for immersion. CoD Cold War is an EXCELLENT example of this! Now, most people will disable the features in multiplayer, but I HIGHLY recommend playing the campaign! You FEEL what your character is doing through subtle vibrations that feel AMAZING. You FEEL the weight of guns through the left trigger and you FEEL like you’re pulling the triggers of different weapons! It’s honestly something you have to experience to understand. This is next-gen gaming and Sony is BRILLIANT for engineering it this good! And so far, battery life of the DualSense actually isn’t bad at all with the features in use. I’d say you’re looking at 15-20 hours of solid play time and the experience with the DualSense is absolutely worth it! Oh, and make sure you pickup the charging dock Sony made! It’s not only magnetic, it stops charging the controllers when the battery is full to preserve battery health! Excellent! Audio: The PS5 uses the Tempest 3D audio engine that Sony developed. You do have to use headphones to get the 3D audio but it’s absolutely worth it! I highly recommend the Pulse 3D headset! I’ve played Demon’s Souls and Cold War which utilize the audio engine and what you hear is truly amazing. Sounds are SO crisp and directional audio is SPOT ON. You’re basically in a sound space while wearing a headset and you truly hear sounds from everywhere. Playing Cold War campaign, I can hear my teammate wherever they are, pinpoint enemies through walls because I can hear them walking, shoot an enemy in the distance and hear them scream from EXACTLY where they are! It’s another thing that you really have to experience for yourself! Games: Well, this one is fairly simple... next-gen games look, well, next-gen! Demon’s Souls looks gorgeous with its very dark, gothic theme. CoD Cold War is absolutely jaw dropping on PS5! I’ve literally found myself taking a minute at the start of each mission in the campaign and just looking around in absolute awe because of how beautiful everything looks. It’s like YOU are in a movie that you can interact with! Oh, and ray tracing just adds to the beauty of everything. Lighting, water, puddles, shadows. Like I said, it looks like a movie. Just beautiful! Some BC games also get a boost in visuals and/or fps. Ghost of Tsushima is locked at 60fps on PS5 and it’s SO smooth! The image of the game is cleaner too due to the fps boost. Sony introduced the PS+ Collection with PS5 and all games on the list have been upgraded for PS5. And they just happen to be some of Sony’s most popular and greatest PS4 titles! Seriously, if you can manage to get a PS5, DO IT!! They’re sold out everywhere for a reason(besides scumbag scalpers)... people WANT this console. The PS5 in my opinion, is the TRUE next-gen console! The look of the console itself, the UI, the ridiculous instantaneous speed, the DualSense controller, the Tempest 3D audio, the absolutely eye-gasmic next-gen games... the PS5 provides an experience that literally nothing else on the market can provide! And... this is just the beginning of next-gen gaming! In the next 2-3 years... my gawd... I can’t even imagine the experiences that are coming! Next-gen is here!!!

i would prefer to get the disc console so i can re-use old games but digi is cool too.
