The most powerful and consumer friendly system they have ever made. The power you get at only $500 and the compatibility with PS4 is amazing. Yeah Xbox has full backwards compatibility but the ps5 has so much better exclusives and a REASON to buy the system. I wouldn’t want to buy a console from a company who is considering not making another console in place of moving to a full streaming service. When the series X Came out they talked about just not doing consoles again. I’d rather be somewhere that is not ready to move on months after release. They clearly took care with the ps5 SSD options as the only one Microsoft allows is a proprietary inferior memory card. Yes it’s easier to install but I mean 3 screws isn’t hard either.

With the grace of God and I seriously mean, the "grace" of God, I managed to preorder this beast on 9.17.20. I got it sent to me a day after it's release which is not a problem considering the pandemic we are going through (again). Despite hearing about all the faults that people are having with their PS5s, I have yet to encounter one so far so that is good. It is quiet, the load times are much faster than the previous gens, and the controller is much more welcoming to hold for big handed people like myself. That said, I am satisfied. Also, word of advice. Please do not buy these consoles from scalpers on Amazon, Ebay, etc. These machines are great, but not worth paying 2x, 3x, 4x the retail price. Patience is a virtue. Do not give scalpers any power. The wait will certainly be worth it.

Waited for many years like so many others. Was one of the lucky ones that managed to buy one around release. Yes, not just scalpers managed to get one into the cart. Very grateful. I hope everyone that wants one gets one as soon as possible. It's an amazing console, can recommend playing demon soul's as the first game to try on it if only for the graphics. The graphics will blow you away, no doubt about that. And the special controller will immerse you further into all the games. Does this product really need a review though? Maybe for people that are buying it as a gift for someone. If you are thinking about gifting one of these to a gamer just know you are aaaamazing and it will probably be the best gift ever received. For a gamer this console is everything. If you are able, get it.

Best system hands down! I’m lucky to have one and was able to pre order and pick this up when it first dropped! Extremely hard to get but I definitely see why! The only con is the size of the system it’s huge but looks so nice!

Amazing console, when I made the switch from Xbox to PlayStation I had zero regrets. Amazing graphics, amazing exclusives and an amazing experience overall. I highly recommend getting a PlayStation 5.

Great Upgrade from the PS4. Seemless gameplay as load times are basically gone. The haptic feedback for the controller is a must experince. Ive also noticed a major increase to the visuals and proformance on my ps4 games i play.

The ps5 is new faster and overall better than the ps4. But it brings nothing new feature wise, it's the same just better. It loads, downloads, and uploads faster overall. The different layout takes a while to get used to. A thing I wished they didn't change was that when you clicked on a game I still have you a prompt of whether to launch it or not if another game was open, because too many times I've accidentally clicked a game and closed a match I was in the middle of. Graphics wise only certain games have improved that updated to a ps5 version but those do look better. The party system is different too and I wish you could share play between ps4 and ps5. Overall it's better but not different. It has more space compatible with older ps4 games and still nice.

It was so hard to get but after countless attempts it was well worth it. Would I recommend it to somebody that has recently started getting into videogames, in short answer no. But its definitely a great choice for someone that knows what they are looking for, like raytracing, 60fps, better graphics and performance. If you are just getting into gaming ps4/slim/pro. IMO would be the best option for your pocket, yes load times are better and graphics as well but if you aren't invested that much in games you may not even notice a difference and if you do you might not even care. At least for the moment the ps5 shouldn't be your average gamers go to for $500 +tax BUT a ps4/slim/pro will definitely deliver you an experiences for half of the money

I find this system to be excellent. Launch titles are amazing... besides godfall. The system feels fresh and news. It packs quite a punch and the new dualsense controller is fantastic. While I have a problem with some launch titles... ahem Ubisoft.... it is not a ps5 problem. I know some people have been having technical/software issues with next gen consoles, but I have not experienced a single issue hence 5 stars. Now is it perfect? No. Day one launches are basically an extended test period with updates fixing and improving things as customers provide feedback, but as far as a launch day console is concerned, the PS5 has crushed it compared to previous gens. Oh ya... that ssd is nuts. Playing Spider-Man with 0 load times is insane compared to the ps4 one.

I cant believe I finally got one after trying so hard! This console definitely lives up to the hype. We bought an 85" Sony TV from bestbuy as well. We made sure to get the right hdmi cord (audio quest 48) to complete the vision we had for our theater/living room. The console is beautiful and it runs effortlessly. Its definitely user friendly as well. My only complaint is that best buy gave me a box that was messed up/punctured but everything seemed to be in order inside the box when I 1st opened it. The controller is on a whole different level. It fits my little hands and my husband's hands which are way bigger than mine. We ended up getting all of the accessories for the ps5. Definitely in love. Movies and games look amazing on the ps5 and the TV of course.

This is my first PlayStation, and it’s honestly amazing. The remote adds so much to the games, because of the Taptic feedback and the vibrations, and the console is fast, and futuristic looking.

Not too many "next gen" games a year in, but the ones it does have are good, and the performance increase in PS4 games alone is worth the upgrade if you can get one. For reference, I play ESO. On a PS4 Pro using an SSD, it took sometimes a minute or two to load a zone. On the PS5, it takes literally 1 to 3 seconds. The jump from sub 30 fps in the game to ~60 makes it feel like a new game. The haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in the controller are revolutionary in some games, but are pretty annoying in other games. Thankfully you can turn it off if you want. Get a TV that can take full advantage of 4K, 120 hz, and VRR ( when it comes out). Also, don't buy from scalpers.

The next generation of gaming has arrived after a seemingly long 7 years. The console looks incredible and at its best in a vertical orientation. The dual sense is the best controller Sony has ever released and the entire PSN catalog displays in a snappy, native 4K resolution. There are few hiccups out of the gate with the biggest being the lack of external storage. I know it’s coming but the onboard ssd capacity isn’t very big at all. I’ve been finding myself playing Tetris with storage space on more than a few occasions to accommodate big games that have yet to take advantage of the new hardware and it’s compression features. If you’re a Sony fan then you won’t be disappointed. I haven’t been this satisfied with a console since the PS2.

Truly exceeds expectations. I wasn’t sure if it would feel like the huge jump between PS3 and PS4, but the loading times and performance of this system have blown me away. The SSD is no joke!

Much better and faster than the PS4. Great design and graphics as well as the best lineup in exclusive games. The new DualSense controller is also a big improvement over the DualShock 4. Get this when it becomes available.

Worth it for the reduced load times alone. Quiet as a whisper, beautiful on my 4K tv, reflections on the water and improvements to visuals even on an upgraded PS4 game. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Hard to get next gen consoles but Best Buy took care of me. Graphics and speed are second to none. Love the ssd speed but size could be more stout. Purchase an external hard drive and you can expand storage space!

Super fast, excellent graphics. Easy to set up and transfer data from PS4. Trying to get one was the hard part. For the price it should come with a game, extra controller and a year subscription to PlayStation Plus

To start, like many others, im amazed that I actually got my hands on one. I would like to thank Best Buy for marking the pick up of this device via curb side SO CONVENIENT so I didn’t have to wait long hours in a line. Now on to the device.....WOW! Initially prior to buying this device I was torn between purchasing the new Xbox or PlayStation, now I know I made the right choice! The controller is truly next level! The controller adds another level of immersion with its haptic feedback during the games! I must highly suggest, if you are planning to purchase a next gen console, purchase a tv that has the ability to optimize all the graphical capabilities this console truly has to offer. I can’t wait for more titles to be available to play on this console!

Don’t ever buy something this expensive for a boyfriend ever. Make sure he puts a ring on it first this was my mistake but I’m sure he’s enjoying this PlayStation immensely.
