PS5 is easily the best console on the market

The PS5 is easily the best gaming console out this generation. Powerful. Amazing graphics. SSD makes load times blazing fast. And also has a bevy of console exclusives you can only find on Playstation. If you're looking for a premium console, the PS5 is it. As a heads up, you should definitely get the standard console with the disc tray or at least spring for it a attachable disc tray since the PS5 is backwards compat with PS4. The only issue I have is that I wish it launched with more storage space but I was able to order a 2TB SSD separately to increase storage so I can hold more games.

For one this thing is HUGE and I love it. at the same time if you’re looking for something that will fit in a little space. This is NOT small maybe 2-3x larger than the 4. It’s the first console I’ve bought. It’s actually quiet (I thought I would hear it) the visuals and graphics are wonderful. It’s very modern. Set up takes a minute but very customize-able. One thing I’m not fond of is the amount of space for downloads. The software itself takes some and then most games that I think are “worth” playing are heavy. You will have to get an external storage if you’re like me.

I went from a PS3 and Nintendo Switch to this, so to say I'm impressed with how graphics and performance have evolved is a bit of an understatement. So far, we've put several games on it and have yet to need secondary storage. Fitting it into our TV stand was a bit of a hassle, and we had to drill a large hole into the back of it so that the cords had room to breathe. It's a bulky, weird-shaped console, but I think it looks more futuristic than an Xbox. The online ordering process went smoothly and it was ready for pickup in about a week after I placed the order.

Sony’s PlayStation 5 is more than just a gaming console – it’s a leap into the future of interactive entertainment. Lightning-Fast Load Times: Thanks to its custom SSD, gone are the days of long loading screens. Games load in mere seconds, allowing for a more immersive gaming experience. Ray Tracing: Experience games like never before with ray tracing, bringing realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections, providing a level of realism previously unattainable in console gaming. Haptic Feedback: The new DualSense controller offers haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, ensuring every explosion, gunshot, and raindrop is felt, providing a tactile experience that enhances immersion. Expansive Game Library: With a mix of blockbuster titles, beloved franchises, and intriguing indies, the PS5 caters to every kind of gamer. Plus, backward compatibility means your PS4 favorites can be enjoyed with enhanced performance. 4K UHD Blu-ray Drive: Not just for gaming, the PS5 serves as an entertainment hub, offering stunning 4K video playback for your movie nights. 3D Audio: The Tempest 3D AudioTech ensures that you're not just playing but living the game. I've had my PS5 Digital Edition for over a week now and I'm very impressed with it. The DualSense controller is a revelation in gaming immersion. In games that support haptic feedback, vibrations in the DualSense are based specifically on what's happening onscreen. Reloading a revolver in Borderlands 3? You'll feel a series of small, targeted vibrations that correspond perfectly with the reloading animation on your screen. The adaptive triggers are excellent as well. I don't have any experience with real guns, so I can only guess that the small bit of resistance every time I fire Jesse Faden's gun in the PS5 version of Control must be based on the way it feels to pull a real trigger. It all makes for an unprecedented tactile experience. Beyond that, playing games on the PS5 in Performance Mode is fantastic. I've been playing in this mode on a 1080p television with nothing but crisp visuals and smooth gameplay. God of War Ragnarok (the game that was included with this bundle) looks especially nice. I imagine the Resolution Mode is good for people who have 4K televisions, but the smoothness of Performance Mode is where it's at for me. Because this is an all-digital console, I recommend buying extra storage for it in the form of a supported NVMe SSD with a heatsink included. I went with the WD_BLACK 2TB SN850X, but go with whichever one feels right to you. To me, the PS5 looks nice without that awkward disc drive bulge on one side. If you care about your console's aesthetics, the PS5 Disk Edition is the way to go.

This system is absolutely worth the wait (and money). Coming from a standard PS4 Slim, it has MAJOR improvements on visuals and user interface, and features are continually being rolled out (like Discord voice features and SSD upgrade compatability). Even on games I’ve played multiple times before on my PS4 (Resident Evil 2 Remake and Jedi: Fallen Order), it looks and feels like a massive graphical boost and improvement, and load times are practically nonexistent, even on huge world games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Hogwarts Legacy. The haptic triggers and vibrations are a major standout too. I’d highly encourage new players to play Astro’s Playground as the first thing they do. Not only is it the perfect tech demo that shows just how amazing the machine is, but it’s also just a downright fun and great game for free! It demonstrates features on the new PS5 controller that made me sad that developers haven’t used the controller’s capabilities to its full extent yet. It’s also got a lot for Playstation history lovers to discover! The only downside to the system is the default memory. It’s just not enough when you’d like to download all the PS5 versions of your favorite games. It’s especially tough for massive multiplayer games like any recent Call of Duty game or Destiny 2, so you have to be conservative until you get a new SSD to connect, which can cost anywhere between $150-$300. Other than that, the games are also $10 more than PS4 versions, which can really break the bank when you want to experience the best of the system. Pro tip: get a decent HDD for your PS4 games to help with your storage management! Over all, I love this system and I don’t regret getting it for a second. Prices will change, that’s the way the world works, but I haven’t had this much fun on a Playstation in years! Just get yourself an ethernet cable, set aside some funds for the games you want and storage upgrades, and get ready to be immersed in the future of gaming.

I grew up with a PS and PS2. At some point became an Xbox guy. But for years I always wanted to play a lot of the PS exclusive games and never did. I finally broke down and bought a PS5 to play The Last Of Us. They updated their controller to be much more pleasant and an easy transition from Xbox. The graphics are fantastic. The 4k blue-ray player is an awesome inclusion. I love it so much I want to rebuy games for PS just to play them with what I think are superior graphics. The only thing that I wish was better is the home media part of it. With my Xbox I could browse my computer and play movies on my tv over WiFi. I’m tech savvy and can’t figure out an easy way to do this with PS5. I have to put them on a thumb drive and plug into usb port. Not the end of the world, plays back great. But I hate spending the time loading the thumb drive, plugging it back in etc. Takes longer, transferring files.

Definitely a fast and sharp gaming system! The first thing you will notice when using it is load times. It drastically improved from the PS4. Would recommend this for anyone who has the means to upgrade from PS4! I was planning on getting the Digital Version, but am not disappointed with the disc version at all. Storage is a bit low for the size of games these days, but a new SSD or existing hard drive will help a ton!

The PS5 is a gaming monster that is more consumer friendly than the Xbox Series X. It is very easy to add any SSD that meets Sony’s requirements. Unlike Xbox which forces you to buy a seagate expansion SSD thats double the price of a SSD you can buy for PS5. The PS5’s SSD is also way faster than Xbox’s so games load a little quicker. You can buy different side plates for it. Games look and run BEAUTIFULLY on it. Especially insomniac’s Spider-Man series. Those games look so good on this console! PS5 has arguably better exclusives than Series X (Nintendo is the only first party developer than can give them a run for their money right now imo). The Dualsense controller is AMAZING. The haptics on it are out of this world. I don’t want this review to sound like console war bs. I own and love Series X and even Switch but when it comes down to next gen console gaming PS5 wins hand over fist. So if that’s your primary interest go with the PS5. Microsoft is much better about backwards compatibly and game pass is a better gaming catalog/streaming service than PlayStation’s PS Extra/Premium so only choose xbox over PS if you care more about that. The exclusivity advantage that PlayStation has may shrink now that games like avowed/ES6/and Fable are on the way but as of 2023 PS5 is still clearly the next gen King.

My PS5 has performed very smoothly and I have had no issues with it. I do love the upgraded features that have improved upon the PS4 system features. The fast load times and amazing graphics are a definite plus. Though I do wish it came with more storage as with the storage on the system you will not be able to download a lot of the big-sized games. But overall, I definitely recommend this product.
