    Great Black Friday Pickup

I picked up the PS5 Pro from Best Buy during the recent Black Friday sale and got it for about $100 off, which made it an even better deal. I’ve always been somewhat of a gamer, and while it can be harder to find time to play as you get older, this was a purchase I felt good about. The in-store pickup process was smooth and easy. As for the console itself, the graphics are excellent and everything runs incredibly smooth. Games load quickly and the overall performance is exactly what you’d expect from a next-gen system. Overall, this was a solid purchase for me at the right time, and I’m really happy I grabbed it when it was on sale.

The PS5 Pro delivers faster performance, sharper visuals, and smoother gameplay compared to the standard model. Games run beautifully in 4K with improved ray tracing, and load times are nearly instant. It’s more expensive, but if you want the best PlayStation experience available, this is it.

Going from a PS4 Pro to a PS5 Pro is a Dream. Works amazing. Plays games flawlessly. Excellent Experience. No. I don't care about the missing Disc Drive. Its 67% More powerful than the Base PS5 with twice the storage. But not 67% More Expensive. Its Completely Worth it.

The PlayStation 5 Pro is a fantastic upgrade for gamers seeking better performance and visuals. The enhanced graphics, smoother gameplay with 120Hz support, and realistic ray tracing make gaming truly immersive. I’m especially happy about the increased storage capacity—it’s a relief not having to constantly delete games to make space. The improved cooling system and upgraded haptic feedback on the controllers are also great additions. While it’s a bit pricey and bulkier, the PS5 Pro is worth it for anyone serious about gaming.

The PlayStation 5 is a truly next-gen experience, offering impressive improvements over its predecessor. From its blazing-fast load times to stunning graphics, Sony has hit the mark with this console. The SSD makes loading times nearly nonexistent, and the ray tracing technology ensures games look visually stunning. The redesigned DualSense controller is a game-changer, offering haptic feedback and adaptive triggers that bring you closer to the action.

I purchased a PS5 from Best Buy just before Christmas, and the entire experience was outstanding. The PS5 itself is incredible with lightning fast load times, stunning graphics, and an overall next level gaming experience that truly lives up to the hype. On top of that, the service at Best Buy was excellent. The staff was knowledgeable, efficient, and made the purchase process smooth and stress free during a busy holiday season. Great product, great service, and a purchase I am very happy with.

    Power at a Premium

After several months with the PlayStation 5 Pro, I can confirm it's the most powerful console Sony has ever released. Whether that power matters depends entirely on your gaming priorities and budget. Performance Upgrades The hardware improvements are substantial. The GPU delivers roughly 45% faster rendering than the base PS5, with significantly more compute units and faster memory. The doubled storage capacity is genuinely appreciated since modern games can easily exceed 200GB. PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution), Sony's AI-powered upscaling technology, is the real differentiator. When implemented properly, it's impressive. Games like Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered deliver sharp 4K visuals at 60fps with enhanced ray tracing. The difference from the base PS5 is immediately noticeable, textures look sharper, reflections feel realistic, and performance remains smooth. Enhanced ray tracing performs 2-3 times faster than the base model, creating substantially better lighting and shadows without performance penalties. For anyone with a quality 4K TV or high refresh rate monitor, the visual improvements are clear. That compromise between quality and performance modes essentially disappears here. Significant Issues The lack of included disc drive and vertical stand feels like nickel-and-diming customers on an already expensive console. The digital-only default forces complete reliance on PlayStation Store pricing, eliminating cheaper physical or used game options. PSSR has real problems in certain titles. Games like Silent Hill 2, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and Alan Wake 2 exhibited serious visual artifacts, shimmering surfaces, and unstable image quality. Some games actually look worse than they did on the base PS5. Several developers have disabled PSSR entirely and reverted to traditional upscaling because the AI implementation wasn't working correctly. These issues stem from PSSR being new technology that developers are still learning. Games using older development tools can't access the latest improvements, leaving them with inferior versions. Sony has announced PSSR 2 for 2026, but that doesn't address current problems. Third-party support remains disappointing. Many new releases launch without Pro enhancements, which feels absurd on a premium console. The PlayStation Store doesn't even detail what enhancements are included, you often need to check forums just to determine if a game is optimized. For players focused on single-player campaigns or those without premium displays, improvements often feel marginal. I've completed entire games where I genuinely forgot I was using the Pro because the visual differences became unnoticeable after initial impressions. Who Benefits The Pro serves competitive multiplayer players, those with premium displays, visual fidelity enthusiasts, and anyone who can comfortably afford the investment. For this audience, it delivers the absolute best PlayStation experience available. For everyone else, the value is questionable. The base PS5 plays identical games and still looks excellent. The Pro offers better graphics, not different games. If budget is a consideration or you're satisfied with your current PS5, upgrading makes little sense. The Verdict The PS5 Pro is technically impressive and delivers the best console gaming experience in 2025. The power is genuine, the storage upgrade is welcome, and properly implemented PSSR produces beautiful results. However, the high barrier to entry, missing accessories, inconsistent upscaling performance, and limited third-party support make this a niche product. It's a boutique console for graphics enthusiasts rather than a necessary upgrade.

The PS5 Pro is awesome. Games look way better and run super smooth, especially in 4K. It loads really fast, and I noticed it’s quieter than the regular PS5. Everything feels more powerful, and it makes playing games even more fun. If you’re into gaming and want the best experience, the PS5 Pro is totally worth it.

Purshased the ps5 pro because i heard alot of good things about it. Coming from PC with a intel i9, 4080 graphics card i really doubted the ps5 was gonna impress me but mannn. It trully did im playing fornight, and this new season has alot of detail graphics and the ps5 pro is playing it at 170fps the highest i saw it go to a steady 135fps and the box says it only play up to 120fps. So the fact is playing way higher is really impressive. Note i play it on a 65 inch LG G5 TV and for it to play on such a big tv desplaying so high FPS is insane to me.

Upgraded from a Covid era PS5 when they were impossible to get. What prompted me to purchase it was the enhanced graphics that provide higher frame rates in games. It felt so good to be able to select up to 60fps on several of the games I was playing. Well worth the upgrade!

I upgraded to the PS5 Pro, and it’s a total game-changer! The improved graphics and smooth frame rates make everything look incredible, and the faster load times are a huge plus. Games feel more immersive with the DualSense controller, and the overall performance is flawless. I also love that it’s backward compatible with my PS4 games, so I didn’t lose my library. It’s pricey, but if you’re serious about gaming, it’s absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

I recently upgraded to the PS5 Pro, and it has completely blown me away. The performance leap is immediately noticeable – games load lightning fast, and the upgraded visuals make every detail pop. I tested it with a 4K HDR TV, and the combination of ray tracing, smoother frame rates, and enhanced resolution makes games feel like an entirely new experience. What I also love is how quiet the system runs, even during demanding sessions. The DualSense controller’s haptics feel more immersive than ever, and the console still manages to keep that sleek, futuristic look. Backward compatibility means my PS5 library instantly benefits from the Pro’s power, which is a huge bonus. If you’re on the fence, the PS5 Pro is absolutely worth it. It’s not just an upgrade—it feels like the way these games were always meant to be played.

I'm a huge fan of the original Playstation 5. The fast storage and dualsense controllers stood out as the biggest advancements to me. But if you have the latest and greatest tv and want to play the latest games with all the eye candy it is capable of, you are stuck with an annoyingly low fps. And if you want better fps, you're stuck with a lower resolution. And usually there is no balance to both. The pro was advertised to address those issues and from the games I have played so far, it delivers. As many have pointed out, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth plays dramatically better on the pro and other games also show an improvement. The improvements vary from game to game. I also appreciate the 2TB storage. I won't have to rush out and buy an additional ssd anytime soon. The only disappointment is the disc drive. Not because I had to pay extra for it. But because at the time of this review, the disc drive add on is sold out at all the major retailers. So if you have a physical game library like I do, the only way you can get one is by buying one from a scalper. Luckily, I bought a disc drive a month before the pro came out. If you have a physical PS5 library, I would wait until these get back in stock. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase, but this is not going to be for everyone. If you're a casual gamer and already have a PS5, I wouldn't recommend it. But if you have the money to spend and have a monitor or TV will all the bells and whistles, you won't be disappointed.

Currently loving my Playstation 5 Pro. I’ve had it for about a month and have enojoyed every single aspect of it. From the high resolution display, the lightining fast loading times, ability to keep high frame rates on graphic-heavy games and overall better perofrmance that the Playstation 5 Slim I had.
