PS5 Pro > Standard PS5
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Verry happy with my purchase! The Pro version is much better when compared to the standard PS5. Do yourself a favor and get the Pro version!! Oh and dont forget to pair it with a 4K OLED gaming monitor! I have mine paired with a ASUS ROG PG32UCDMR and its absolutely mind blowing!!

Amazing upgrade!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had owned the base PS5 from the release in 2020. I traded that in for a very good return of $300 and upgraded to PS5 Pro. I see a huge difference in performance and Quality.

It works, received on time, but room for improveme
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The item shipped well and it works. It even arrived on time. However, the delivery was less than desirable. I wasn't home when it arrived, so the delivery person placed it wedged between a metal storm door to my condo. The item was also not packaged beyond its PS5 packaging, leaving it susceptible to the elements and possibly worse, theft. I know porch theft is a real thing, though not a huge issue at my residence. But the box literally had PS5 PRO written all over it.

Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s just a PS5 , with higher frames and better graphics. If you want a competitive advantage over your friends with a normal ps5 this can get you a small fps advantage in 120fps games or at the very least slightly better graphics.

Awesome console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome console with excellent storage. Took advantage of the trade in promotion to upgrade from base ps5 to the pro, and it was worth the effort. If you have an oled tv, it will enhance the experience of owning a ps5 pro.

Power at a Premium
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After several months with the PlayStation 5 Pro, I can confirm it's the most powerful console Sony has ever released. Whether that power matters depends entirely on your gaming priorities and budget. Performance Upgrades The hardware improvements are substantial. The GPU delivers roughly 45% faster rendering than the base PS5, with significantly more compute units and faster memory. The doubled storage capacity is genuinely appreciated since modern games can easily exceed 200GB. PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution), Sony's AI-powered upscaling technology, is the real differentiator. When implemented properly, it's impressive. Games like Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered deliver sharp 4K visuals at 60fps with enhanced ray tracing. The difference from the base PS5 is immediately noticeable, textures look sharper, reflections feel realistic, and performance remains smooth. Enhanced ray tracing performs 2-3 times faster than the base model, creating substantially better lighting and shadows without performance penalties. For anyone with a quality 4K TV or high refresh rate monitor, the visual improvements are clear. That compromise between quality and performance modes essentially disappears here. Significant Issues The lack of included disc drive and vertical stand feels like nickel-and-diming customers on an already expensive console. The digital-only default forces complete reliance on PlayStation Store pricing, eliminating cheaper physical or used game options. PSSR has real problems in certain titles. Games like Silent Hill 2, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and Alan Wake 2 exhibited serious visual artifacts, shimmering surfaces, and unstable image quality. Some games actually look worse than they did on the base PS5. Several developers have disabled PSSR entirely and reverted to traditional upscaling because the AI implementation wasn't working correctly. These issues stem from PSSR being new technology that developers are still learning. Games using older development tools can't access the latest improvements, leaving them with inferior versions. Sony has announced PSSR 2 for 2026, but that doesn't address current problems. Third-party support remains disappointing. Many new releases launch without Pro enhancements, which feels absurd on a premium console. The PlayStation Store doesn't even detail what enhancements are included, you often need to check forums just to determine if a game is optimized. For players focused on single-player campaigns or those without premium displays, improvements often feel marginal. I've completed entire games where I genuinely forgot I was using the Pro because the visual differences became unnoticeable after initial impressions. Who Benefits The Pro serves competitive multiplayer players, those with premium displays, visual fidelity enthusiasts, and anyone who can comfortably afford the investment. For this audience, it delivers the absolute best PlayStation experience available. For everyone else, the value is questionable. The base PS5 plays identical games and still looks excellent. The Pro offers better graphics, not different games. If budget is a consideration or you're satisfied with your current PS5, upgrading makes little sense. The Verdict The PS5 Pro is technically impressive and delivers the best console gaming experience in 2025. The power is genuine, the storage upgrade is welcome, and properly implemented PSSR produces beautiful results. However, the high barrier to entry, missing accessories, inconsistent upscaling performance, and limited third-party support make this a niche product. It's a boutique console for graphics enthusiasts rather than a necessary upgrade.

PS5 pro
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is what the ps5 should have been from the get go. Much more stable frame rates in new gen games making the overall experince better than PS5. When GTA6 hits your going to want the extra horsepower and faster loading times. Makes PS4 games look fantastic and play even smoother. Definitely recommend to any gamer.

A Little About PS5/ PRO
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are trying to get the most performance and willing to put the money in, I will recommend getting the PS5 Pro BUT if you are just a regular gamer and want to save money just get the regular (PS5). There’s not much difference between the PS5/ Pro. In my eyes the difference is in the RT and the storage (you can add more storage)*. Ofc there’s more stuff between PS5/ PRO, if you really thinking in getting one, do your research and see which one will suit you better.

Playstation 5 Pro is worth it!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best Playstation yet! I know... one can say this about any and every new product in most instances, but this really is quite powerful and if you have a newer TV that has full HDMI 2.1 support, you can tell a difference. It may seem slight at first but after a while the additional graphics power becomes immediately noticeable and you don't want to go back after that. I do admit thought that for the price, you do have do a doubletake and first. It also really seems like Sony should have included the higher end dual sense controller and they missed a huge opportunity here by not including it because if they did, it would make the whole setup unquestionably worth it. If you are on the fence, try it, after some time using it, you won't be disappointed, even if you don't like that it doesn't have a disc drive, that will slowly fade away as well and you'll just focus on the technical goodness it delivers.

PS5 Pro for those who want more power.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If money is tight, stick with your standard PlayStation 5. If you have the money, go for the Pro is you want the best looking console performance in the market. While not all games utilize the PS5 Pro to its full potential, you are at least given the chance to play games with far higher graphical fidelity with better frame-rate (as long as you also have a TV supporting VRR and what not). Now with the recent RAM shortages and PC parts rising in prices, for someone who simply wants to game, I recommend a PS5 or PS5 Pro. But if you have a PC that is on par, perhaps wait a year or so and you'll see those PS5 exclusives come to PC as well (as we have seen with God of War and other exclusives). All in all, PS5 Pro is a great console if you can afford it!

Performance at its finest.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PSSR really works. Coming with 2TB is huge! Games run smoother with less frame drops, like Witcher 3, cyberpunk, FF revbirth. Pro is the way to go.

PS5 Pro - No complaints
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I treated myself to this purchase with money I received for Christmas gifts and I am ecstatic with it. The deck itself looks great and the game play on my 75" QLED TV is amazing at 4K. I see many complain about the price but that was not a concern as it was essentially a gift. Functionally, I have no complaints and everything about it from turning on and downloading and installing games it simple. I am retired and must admit I spend too much time playing games these days and do not regret the purchase. The buying experience was simple from Best Buy and I later purchased the additional Blu Ray Disc Drive and 4 TB extra storage.

Know what you are buying before you buy
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Know what you are buying. These reviews that whine about this console not having a disc drive or not having a stand are obviously trolling or they don't research anything they buy. If you plan to drop $700 on something, you ought know what is included. I received exactly what I expected. The system itself is great. On my OLED it brought in more fidelity without giving up the higher frame rates. I can't stomach 30fps anymore, it almost makes me motion sick. So, for me this was a perfect upgrade as I was always in performance mode in games and now I can have most of the fidelity mode AND the frame rates of performance mode. Gran Turismo 7 is fantastic with the Pro. Spiderman 2, I'm speechless. I do not have a gaming PC, at this point in my life, this console meets my needs. I know a PC could outperform this system, but I have no complaints and it meets my expectations.

PS5 Pro-Worth the cost if you want more upgrades
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love my pro. Just finished Rise of the Ronin on it with the upgrades, now looking forward to finishing another playthrough of FF7 Rebirth, which looks absolutely stunning! The 2TB is also a nice addition. If you can afford it, and want additional graphical fidelity that the base ps5 couldnt provide, this is for you.

Great for Certain Situations
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all, its expensive, too expensice for a console. However, I game on a 77 inch oled and sit about 8 feet away. Games like Final Fantasy Rebirth, Alan Wake 2, and Star Wars Outlaws were noticeably blurry to the eye on tbe regular ps5. Ot was like you were playing this high end system with nice graphics, but they ran out of juice for the resolution part. It was like playing the game through the bad lense at the eye doctor. Anyway, the ps5 pro fixed this with more horespower and pssr. Those games I mentioned, among others like Hogwarts Academy and Dragon age Veilguard look super sharp and crips. This not only makes it look like you booted up a high end pc, but it also adds depth and immersion. I feel like i see kore of the background and the worlds are more expansive. Now, i you have a tv 55 inches or less and you sit 10 or more feet from your tv, this honestly might not be a good purchase for you. The change might be barely noticeable in that situation. Anyway, im still yet to play any game thet was 30 fps only on the vanilla ps5 or see one thst has added ray tracing, but im sure that will be good too.
