The console itself is a massive upgrade—lightning-fast performance, stunning visuals, and whisper-quiet operation even during intense gameplay. Every game feels smoother, sharper, and more immersive. The improved graphics and frame rates are immediately noticeable, especially on a 4K TV. Best Buy made the process incredibly easy. The staff was knowledgeable and answered all my questions about the new features and setup. Pickup was fast and well-organized, and the console arrived in perfect condition with secure packaging. I also appreciated the real-time updates from the Best Buy app, which kept me informed from purchase to pickup. If you’re thinking about upgrading, I highly recommend grabbing the PS5 Pro from Best Buy. Top-tier product, top-tier service. Couldn't ask for a better experience! --- If you'd like it to sound more personal, more technical, shorter, or more excited, I can tailor it!

Only worth it if you have 4k/120hz, vrr, ALLM TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have the tech to actually make this beast work its magic it's gorgeous and stupid fast. Upgraded storage, great improvement on the psvr2 quality as well, added USB c ports, sturdier USB a ports and no bulky disc drive are only the start. But if you don't have a 4K 120 hz TV with 2.1 HDMI capability, VRR ALLM etc then it's just not going to do a lot more than your current setup with a PS5. This is what I think the PS5 claimed to be when it first came out. I just got a brand new TV and let this thing do what it was meant to do for the first time and it's night and day in quality of picture and frame rate. I think this would be a great choice for those who are skeptical of the PS6 roll out and want to still get the best Sony has to offer in that transitional stage.

PS5 PRO
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS5 Pro is exactly what I hoped for. Games look noticeably sharper, smoother, and more detailed especially with the higher frame rates on supported TVs. Load times are instant, HDR looks better, and overall performance feels much more consistent. It handles demanding games like NBA 2K, Call of Duty, and open-world titles with ease.

Best Console Preorder experienve hands down
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far worth the purchase despite what many say on the internet. It has brought life to old PS4 games, improved PSVR2 game quality, enhanced PS5 games that are not pro enhanced thanks to the new specs, and the new Pro mode. I have no complaints with this console. All topped by the best console preordering experience thanks to Best Buy’s curbside pick up. Setting up the console was extremely easy, and so was transferring my data from my slim PS5 to the Pro console.

Worthwhile upgrade if you have a good TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When paired with a TV capable of 120Hz at 4K with VRR, the PS5 Pro can be a worthwhile upgrade. I use this with my 77" LG G4 OLED Evo TV, and it definitely highlights all the capabilities of the PS5 Pro. As someone who usually games on a PC with a Nvidia RTX 4090 on a 4K 240Hz OLED monitor, I feel like I have been spoiled with both image quality and motion clarity that my base PS5 could not dream to compete with. Does the Pro compete? Absolutely not, but it definitely closes the gap and has made couch gaming more enjoyable. On the games I have tested so far, the new "Pro" graphical setting gives similar visuals as the "Fidelity" or "Quality" mode that usually locks you in at 30 FPS but now offers similar FPS to the "Performance mode". You are basically getting the best of both worlds now. On the "Pro" setting, I was averaging between 60-90 FPS when unlocking framerates. If you are after FPS, you can use the "Performance" mode that is also available on the base PS5. In games like TLOU2 and GoW Ragnarok, I would average between 60-90 FPS on the base PS5. On the PS5 Pro on performance mode, I am now averaging about 90-120 FPS. In many cases, across multiple games, I was averaging between 20-30 FPS more on the PS5 Pro than the base PS5. Other than performance, the Pro does come with 2TB of storage which is great. The biggest con about the Pro is that you have to buy the disk drive separately which is completely asinine.

PS5Pro
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had the PS5 Pro for a couple of weeks now, and honestly, the upgrade feels worth it if you’re someone who really cares about performance and visuals. I play on a 4K OLED, and the difference in frame rate and ray tracing in supported games like Spider-Man 2 and Horizon Forbidden West is noticeable—everything looks smoother and more detailed. Load times are slightly faster than my standard PS5, but not drastically so. What really sold me is how stable the Pro runs under heavy load—it’s quieter and runs cooler, which is a big deal in long sessions. That said, if you’re a casual gamer or mostly play less demanding games, the difference might not justify the price. Not all games have Pro enhancements yet, so it feels a bit like early adoption.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PlayStation 5 has completely transformed my gaming experience. From the moment I turned it on, I was blown away by how fast everything loads. The graphics are incredible—super detailed and realistic, especially on newer titles like Spider-Man 2 and Horizon Forbidden West. I also love the new DualSense controller. The adaptive triggers and haptic feedback add a whole new layer of immersion that I didn’t expect. It really makes you feel more connected to the game. Storage is decent with the built-in SSD, though if you're downloading a lot of large games, you might want to consider extra storage down the line. Setup was straightforward, and the UI is clean and easy to navigate.

PS5 Pro
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely a step up from the original PS5 in terms of performance which is noticeable both in gameplay and download speed immediately. Disappointing that there is no built in disc option, but unfortunately that seems to be the future of all gaming consoles.

Power at a Premium
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After several months with the PlayStation 5 Pro, I can confirm it's the most powerful console Sony has ever released. Whether that power matters depends entirely on your gaming priorities and budget. Performance Upgrades The hardware improvements are substantial. The GPU delivers roughly 45% faster rendering than the base PS5, with significantly more compute units and faster memory. The doubled storage capacity is genuinely appreciated since modern games can easily exceed 200GB. PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution), Sony's AI-powered upscaling technology, is the real differentiator. When implemented properly, it's impressive. Games like Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered deliver sharp 4K visuals at 60fps with enhanced ray tracing. The difference from the base PS5 is immediately noticeable, textures look sharper, reflections feel realistic, and performance remains smooth. Enhanced ray tracing performs 2-3 times faster than the base model, creating substantially better lighting and shadows without performance penalties. For anyone with a quality 4K TV or high refresh rate monitor, the visual improvements are clear. That compromise between quality and performance modes essentially disappears here. Significant Issues The lack of included disc drive and vertical stand feels like nickel-and-diming customers on an already expensive console. The digital-only default forces complete reliance on PlayStation Store pricing, eliminating cheaper physical or used game options. PSSR has real problems in certain titles. Games like Silent Hill 2, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and Alan Wake 2 exhibited serious visual artifacts, shimmering surfaces, and unstable image quality. Some games actually look worse than they did on the base PS5. Several developers have disabled PSSR entirely and reverted to traditional upscaling because the AI implementation wasn't working correctly. These issues stem from PSSR being new technology that developers are still learning. Games using older development tools can't access the latest improvements, leaving them with inferior versions. Sony has announced PSSR 2 for 2026, but that doesn't address current problems. Third-party support remains disappointing. Many new releases launch without Pro enhancements, which feels absurd on a premium console. The PlayStation Store doesn't even detail what enhancements are included, you often need to check forums just to determine if a game is optimized. For players focused on single-player campaigns or those without premium displays, improvements often feel marginal. I've completed entire games where I genuinely forgot I was using the Pro because the visual differences became unnoticeable after initial impressions. Who Benefits The Pro serves competitive multiplayer players, those with premium displays, visual fidelity enthusiasts, and anyone who can comfortably afford the investment. For this audience, it delivers the absolute best PlayStation experience available. For everyone else, the value is questionable. The base PS5 plays identical games and still looks excellent. The Pro offers better graphics, not different games. If budget is a consideration or you're satisfied with your current PS5, upgrading makes little sense. The Verdict The PS5 Pro is technically impressive and delivers the best console gaming experience in 2025. The power is genuine, the storage upgrade is welcome, and properly implemented PSSR produces beautiful results. However, the high barrier to entry, missing accessories, inconsistent upscaling performance, and limited third-party support make this a niche product. It's a boutique console for graphics enthusiasts rather than a necessary upgrade.

Best Christmas Service Ever!
||Posted . The PS5 itself is incredible with lightning fast load times, stunning graphics, and an overall next level gaming experience that truly lives up to the hype. On top of that, the service at Best Buy was excellent. The staff was knowledgeable, efficient, and made the purchase process smooth and stress free during a busy holiday season. 10/10 Console Experience
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS5 Pro is fantastic. Games look incredible, with sharper detail and smoother performance compared to what I’ve seen on the standard model at friends’ places. Load times are practically instant, and it handles 4K gaming beautifully. Even after long sessions, the system stays quiet and cool. It’s just been a really solid experience all around.

If You Haven’t Bought a PS5 Yet, Get the Pro
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you haven’t bought a PS5 yet, I’d honestly recommend spending the little extra and going straight for the Pro. The performance boost is noticeable, especially if you have a newer TV, and it just feels more future-proof for the next few years of games. Load times are great, gameplay is smooth, and everything feels a bit more polished overall. It’s not a "must upgrade" if you already own a PS5, but for first-time buyers this is easily the best way to jump into the PlayStation ecosystem without wondering later if you should’ve waited. No regrets here!

Not for everyone, but there is a clear difference.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own a fat PS5 and an Xbox Series X, and had the money to upgrade to this console. The price is cery high, so it is not for everyone in that regard, but also in what the console provides. The console offers more power in both of the consoles I mentioned, and it is quite noticeable with a 4k tv, as the games in quality mode are incredibly crisp, something that the regular PS5 struggle to do so a lot compared to the Xbox Series X, and takes it to a higher level compared to the Series X, but the most noticeable power increase from both consoles are in the performance modes in games, 60 fps as usual with these consoles, but with far more features from the quality mode as a higher upscaled 4K and some extra bits in some games like Ray Tracing. And to hardcore competitive gamers, this console goes a lot higher than 80-90 FPS in most fps games. Overall, if you have the money and a 4K and or 120hz TV or monitor, yes- and if you are patient, maybe wait for the PS6, but even then, seeing the PS4 still kept alive, getting any PS5, specially this one, doesn’t seem like a bad choice.

Awesome console
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I noticed significant performance differences in comparison to the Base PS5. The processor and fan are much more efficient, and the storage base is a bit larger than the PS5. Loading screens obviously load much quicker. I recommend playing the PS5 Pro Enhanced titles like KCD2, Balders Gate 3, and Dead Island 2.

A Stepping Stone for the Next Generation
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s clear Sony is laying the foundation for whatever the principles and philosophy of PlayStation 6 will be with the PS5 Pro. PSSR, their up-scaling, AI-machine learning proprietary design, allows the system to enhance games and do much of the heavy lifting without needing developers to implement things in a way that costs time and money. The additional TB of storage capacity over the regular PS5 is a nice addition that I think is overlooked as well. The system is shockingly small and rather quiet for a machine that is so powerful and capable of extraordinary output. I could be playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer for hours and the PS5 Pro would remain as quiet as it was when I turned it on for the day. The design of the system is sleek and fits nicely with any console entertainment setup you might have.
