Amazing for large 4k VRR displays

If you have a large 4k VRR TV you will appreciate this console a lot. The picture quality is amazing with supported games, standouts are all the Spiderman games and Horizon. Other games with un-capped frame rate options benefit greatly like Elden Ring, allowing you to run it in its quality mode at much higher fps. However, if you have a 48in 4k TV, or a 1080p TV and just want a console, I would go with the standard PS5, as it will be harder to distinguish the visual upgrades. There are some games that use better fidelity effects with the improved hardware, but most of what this console is about is delivering a sharper image with better performance.

I've had a PS5 since they launched and decided it was time to upgrade because of the black friday sale that was going. I was able to trade in my original PS5 for almost what i originally paid for it and then got $100 off the PS5 Pro. Based on that it was 100% worth the upgrade for me. It downloads games much faster, the remote gaming from the portal os smoother, and it seems to run cooler. Graphics might be better and crisper but its hard to tell, and I am using an Alienware gaming monitor with it. The big difference is holding the higher frame rate while playing. Does it all add up to the cost of the Pro and then the additional cost of the disc drive without any discounts or trade in deals? For me it doesn't which is why I only gave it 4 stars. The slim would have sufficed if I was purchasing for the first time and a disc drive should be standard on the Pro at the current cost.

The PS5 is a powerful console with a great library of exclusive games, fast load times, and immersive 3D audio, but its bulky design and some minor issues hold it back from perfection. It's still considered one of the best consoles available, even in 2026.

I purchased this in anticipation of GTA 6. I already had a launch PS5, so i was skeptical of the improvements this sustem could make. The upgrade from ps4 to ps4 pro was pretty clear, and this didnt wow me from the presentation to purchase day one. Well, ghost of yotei has released and the ray tracing pro setting using the ps5 pro’s PSSR upscaler is a game changer. I switched back from native 4k that runs 30fps, to the pro raytracing that AI upscales to 4k and runs 60fps witb ray tracing. Even in the smallest details I cannot tell a difference its not native 4k. Plus running 60 fps with the raytracing, its a truly incredible machine!

I recently upgraded to the PS5 Pro, and it has completely blown me away. The performance leap is immediately noticeable – games load lightning fast, and the upgraded visuals make every detail pop. I tested it with a 4K HDR TV, and the combination of ray tracing, smoother frame rates, and enhanced resolution makes games feel like an entirely new experience. What I also love is how quiet the system runs, even during demanding sessions. The DualSense controller’s haptics feel more immersive than ever, and the console still manages to keep that sleek, futuristic look. Backward compatibility means my PS5 library instantly benefits from the Pro’s power, which is a huge bonus. If you’re on the fence, the PS5 Pro is absolutely worth it. It’s not just an upgrade—it feels like the way these games were always meant to be played.

The PS5 Pro is awesome. Games look way better and run super smooth, especially in 4K. It loads really fast, and I noticed it’s quieter than the regular PS5. Everything feels more powerful, and it makes playing games even more fun. If you’re into gaming and want the best experience, the PS5 Pro is totally worth it.

Excellent. Very fast system with huge storage. You definitely notice a difference (I had my old ps5 running side by side as a comparison). I only wanted to play on this one after that. I did end up getting a disc drive and stand which unfortunately dont come with it. The system is physically more streamlined than the original. It looks really nice. I definitely recommend it.

The PS5 Pro is easily Sony’s most powerful console yet, and it shows—games run smoother, look sharper with its new PSSR upscaling, and ray tracing improvements add a lot of visual polish. The upgraded 2TB SSD is a huge quality-of-life boost, and Wi-Fi 7 makes it feel future-proof. Titles like Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth really shine on this hardware, pushing frame rates and fidelity further than the base PS5. That said, the $699 price tag stings, especially since the disc drive and stand are sold separately, and only a limited number of games fully take advantage of the Pro right now. If you’re a hardcore gamer with a 4K display who wants the best PlayStation experience possible, the PS5 Pro delivers. For casual players or those happy with their current PS5, the upgrade may not feel essential.

The PlayStation 5 Pro is a fantastic upgrade for gamers seeking better performance and visuals. The enhanced graphics, smoother gameplay with 120Hz support, and realistic ray tracing make gaming truly immersive. I’m especially happy about the increased storage capacity—it’s a relief not having to constantly delete games to make space. The improved cooling system and upgraded haptic feedback on the controllers are also great additions. While it’s a bit pricey and bulkier, the PS5 Pro is worth it for anyone serious about gaming.

The PlayStation 5 is a truly next-gen experience, offering impressive improvements over its predecessor. From its blazing-fast load times to stunning graphics, Sony has hit the mark with this console. The SSD makes loading times nearly nonexistent, and the ray tracing technology ensures games look visually stunning. The redesigned DualSense controller is a game-changer, offering haptic feedback and adaptive triggers that bring you closer to the action.

Currently loving my Playstation 5 Pro. I’ve had it for about a month and have enojoyed every single aspect of it. From the high resolution display, the lightining fast loading times, ability to keep high frame rates on graphic-heavy games and overall better perofrmance that the Playstation 5 Slim I had.

PS5 Pro = Worthwhile upgrade for performance enthusiasts. Not a must-own console for the average gamer. It improves graphics and frame rates in meaningful ways, but the difference only shines in the right setup (120Hz displays, supported games). For everyone else, the standard PS5 remains a very capable machine. No hype. No sugarcoat. Just reality: Good upgrade. Not game-changing.

I upgraded from the 1st gen OG launch day ps5 and I love it, definitely faster loading than the OG ps5. Though my other 5 is still running fine, this one is definitely an upgrade. I wanted the better graphics capability and ray tracing, games are even more beautiful. I'm fortunate to be able to upgrade

PS5 Pro is absolutely amazing. This PlayStation 5 Pro works great for gaming, movies, and everything in between. The graphics are stunning, 4K resolution is crystal clear, and the performance boost is unbelievable. Games run smoother, faster, and look better than ever. I'm a huge fan of the original Playstation 5. The fast storage and dualsense controllers stood out as the biggest advancements to me. But if you have the latest and greatest tv and want to play the latest games with all the eye candy it is capable of, you are stuck with an annoyingly low fps. And if you want better fps, you're stuck with a lower resolution. And usually there is no balance to both. The pro was advertised to address those issues and from the games I have played so far, it delivers. As many have pointed out, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth plays dramatically better on the pro and other games also show an improvement. The improvements vary from game to game. I also appreciate the 2TB storage. I won't have to rush out and buy an additional ssd anytime soon. The only disappointment is the disc drive. Not because I had to pay extra for it. But because at the time of this review, the disc drive add on is sold out at all the major retailers. So if you have a physical game library like I do, the only way you can get one is by buying one from a scalper. Luckily, I bought a disc drive a month before the pro came out. If you have a physical PS5 library, I would wait until these get back in stock. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase, but this is not going to be for everyone. If you're a casual gamer and already have a PS5, I wouldn't recommend it. But if you have the money to spend and have a monitor or TV will all the bells and whistles, you won't be disappointed.
