The doubled storage capacity is genuinely appreciated since modern games can easily exceed 200GB. PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution), Sony's AI-powered upscaling technology, is the real differentiator. When implemented properly, it's impressive. Games like Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered deliver sharp 4K visuals at 60fps with enhanced ray tracing. The difference from the base PS5 is immediately noticeable, textures look sharper, reflections feel realistic, and performance remains smooth. Enhanced ray tracing performs 2-3 times faster than the base model, creating substantially better lighting and shadows without performance penalties. For anyone with a quality 4K TV or high refresh rate monitor, the visual improvements are clear. That compromise between quality and performance modes essentially disappears here. It’s clear Sony is laying the foundation for whatever the principles and philosophy of PlayStation 6 will be with the PS5 Pro. PSSR, their up-scaling, AI-machine learning proprietary design, allows the system to enhance games and do much of the heavy lifting without needing developers to implement things in a way that costs time and money. The additional TB of storage capacity over the regular PS5 is a nice addition that I think is overlooked as well. The system is shockingly small and rather quiet for a machine that is so powerful and capable of extraordinary output. I could be playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer for hours and the PS5 Pro would remain as quiet as it was when I turned it on for the day. The design of the system is sleek and fits nicely with any console entertainment setup you might have.

If you haven’t bought a PS5 yet, I’d honestly recommend spending the little extra and going straight for the Pro. I own a fat PS5 and an Xbox Series X, and had the money to upgrade to this console. The price is cery high, so it is not for everyone in that regard, but also in what the console provides. The console offers more power in both of the consoles I mentioned, and it is quite noticeable with a 4k tv, as the games in quality mode are incredibly crisp, something that the regular PS5 struggle to do so a lot compared to the Xbox Series X, and takes it to a higher level compared to the Series X, but the most noticeable power increase from both consoles are in the performance modes in games, 60 fps as usual with these consoles, but with far more features from the quality mode as a higher upscaled 4K and some extra bits in some games like Ray Tracing. And to hardcore competitive gamers, this console goes a lot higher than 80-90 FPS in most fps games. Overall, if you have the money and a 4K and or 120hz TV or monitor, yes- and if you are patient, maybe wait for the PS6, but even then, seeing the PS4 still kept alive, getting any PS5, specially this one, doesn’t seem like a bad choice.

I noticed significant performance differences in comparison to the Base PS5. The processor and fan are much more efficient, and the storage base is a bit larger than the PS5. Loading screens obviously load much quicker. I recommend playing the PS5 Pro Enhanced titles like KCD2, Balders Gate 3, and Dead Island 2.

I gifted my PS5 to my grandkids and bought a PS5 Pro for myself. Really like having the larger internal hard drive. Stinks that Sony does not make the pro with a disk drive and you have to spend extra money for the add on disc drive but I have such a library of PS4 disk that there was no other way to go. Unit works great and pleased with my purchase. The slim PS5 becomes about the same size as the original when you add the disc drive. Very pleased with the unit.

I love the new PlayStation five it’s super fast to start up, everything loads quickly and has so much storage like I have all my games and still have so much storage left over. Also, the controller battery life lasts so much longer. my games look so much more clear and crisp compared to when I was playing on my PS4. i’m so happy with this new system and I’m sure anybody who gets it will be to.

If you have a large 4k VRR TV you will appreciate this console a lot. The picture quality is amazing with supported games, standouts are all the Spiderman games and Horizon. Other games with un-capped frame rate options benefit greatly like Elden Ring, allowing you to run it in its quality mode at much higher fps. However, if you have a 48in 4k TV, or a 1080p TV and just want a console, I would go with the standard PS5, as it will be harder to distinguish the visual upgrades. There are some games that use better fidelity effects with the improved hardware, but most of what this console is about is delivering a sharper image with better performance.
