I'm a huge fan of the original Playstation 5. The fast storage and dualsense controllers stood out as the biggest advancements to me. But if you have the latest and greatest tv and want to play the latest games with all the eye candy it is capable of, you are stuck with an annoyingly low fps. And if you want better fps, you're stuck with a lower resolution. And usually there is no balance to both. The pro was advertised to address those issues and from the games I have played so far, it delivers. As many have pointed out, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth plays dramatically better on the pro and other games also show an improvement. The improvements vary from game to game. I also appreciate the 2TB storage. I won't have to rush out and buy an additional ssd anytime soon. The only disappointment is the disc drive. Not because I had to pay extra for it. But because at the time of this review, the disc drive add on is sold out at all the major retailers. So if you have a physical game library like I do, the only way you can get one is by buying one from a scalper. Luckily, I bought a disc drive a month before the pro came out. If you have a physical PS5 library, I would wait until these get back in stock. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase, but this is not going to be for everyone. If you're a casual gamer and already have a PS5, I wouldn't recommend it. But if you have the money to spend and have a monitor or TV will all the bells and whistles, you won't be disappointed.

It was easy to transfer all PS4 data to the PS5 - the interface is clean and the PS5 is so much nicer: faster, better menu layout, crisp graphics, etc. Getting the PS5 pro was the way to go - its worth the higher price tag. Buying was easy too. I liked the whole experience and came back to order the charger stand and headset that go with.

Coming from the launch edition console i don’t really notice a difference in performance i only upgraded cause of the price and needed more memory. I can say its quieter and it doesn’t come with a disc drive sold separately and sony doesn't have any plates yet for it and the ones they do have are sold out at the time

If you mainly play Playstation and you want to get the best possible graphics and performance, then this is for you. It's not an alternative to a powerful PC, and you shouldn't think of it like that. The PS5 games look great, and the boost to older games is also welcome. The 2tb SSD is nice to have, since modern games are only getting bigger. It would have been nice if you didn't have to pay for a stand and a disc drive, but what can you do. Overall, a very good console.

I wasn't sure initially if I had made the right decision in upgrading to the pro but once I started playing the PS5 pro enhanced games it is noticeably better in terms of picture quality, frame rates and load times. It's an excellent piece of hardware if you're a PlayStation fan.

Its runs super smooth and loads game almost instantly! 10x better than the regular ps5!!

I bought this as I have been a playstation gamer since the original. I've had all the consoles since launch. This to me is sonys greatest console ever. However the price is very high and also you need to buy the disc drive which is a further £100. Totaling $900 for console and disc drive. To the average consumer that is a huge chunk of money. You also have to have a newer TV with all the bells and whistles on it. Ie vrr. 120htz. 4k.hdr.etc. But once you have all that the difference is mind blowing in games that have been ps5 pro enhanced. Alan wake 2 is absolutely incredible. The details and the ray tracing effects are on another level. Every game so far I have replayed is outstanding in some sort of way. The ps5 pro also enhances certain ps4 games which is fantastic. Giving your old ps4 games a new lease of life. Would I recommend this product. Absolutely. But it is expensive. Very offer 12 months buy now pay later which is a lot less stressful on the wallet. If you are feeling on the fence over this product. Belive me when I say it is an outstanding piece of technology. This is the future of gaming.

Bought the PS5 Pro for “responsible adult reasons” and wow… huge mistake for my free time. Setup was easy, load times are basically gone, and everything looks ridiculously good. Games run so smooth it feels unfair. If you enjoy productivity and sleep, maybe skip it. Otherwise, highly recommend.

This is a great product. It does what it says it would do. It is overall a better product than the original ps5 The features are great like pssr and advanced ray tracing and the optimized console performance creates higher and more consistent silky smooth frame rates for the games I've been playing

Great system. Beyond happy with this purchase after waiting some time to jump from the PS4 to the PS5 Pro. Anyone in the same boat as myself that has been waiting to upgrade systems, this one is a definite leap in quality from one generation to the next. Purchasing the optical drive is a must for anyone who really does want to get the most out of the system and enjoy not only games, but uncompressed 4K UHD tv and movies. While it is a bummer that PS3 games are still not available (MGS4), there is plenty to enjoy with such a large library all ready available. With a possible price hike due to ram shortages, among other things, if you're on the fence about getting the system I say do it now.

I can notice the difference between the pro and the standard PS5. I will say it needs more space to stay cool but that's it's only negative.

Gave my nephew my old ps5 as a gift and I upgraded to the ps5 pro, and lets say its worth the upgrade. God of War Ragnarok and other ps5 pro enhanced games feel like PC upgrades. One thing to keep in mind not all PS4 or PS5 games have pro enhanced patches yet so some games will still run as they did before. I'm the type of person that pays attention to the tiny details and want to get the best out of my Alienware monitor which this ps5 pro does. I'm definitely happy with my purchase. Comes with 2 TB which is much needed since a lot of games take up a lot of space.

2tb's of storage, the new PSSR feature and the enhancements for certain games (FF7 Rebirth) was the biggest selling point for me. I think Sony really outdid themselves with this console and it's performance. My biggest gripe with the console isn't about performance or any sort of hardware issue. It's the fact it doesn't come with a disc drive, that is probably everyones big issue. I do believe this is more or so for the enthusiast sony gamer or for anyone who wants to make the most out of their display that supports hdmi 2.1 and can really take advantage of the 120hz and uncapped frame modes some of these games can offer now. But truthfully, I really do enjoy this console.

Overall system runs smoother than base PS5. super quiet noticeable bump to graphics. Can’t wait to see how things go once developers have more time with the console. Extra storage is very welcome. Added my previous WD black drive from my launch ps5 for a total of 3rb of space. Very happy with pro.

If you have a top tier television or monitor-highly reccomend (120hz) capability with VRR and HDR OLED or QLED and know how to tweak advanced settings to enhance picture this thing is a total beast! Monster Hunter Wilds is fantastic and Horizon remastered is one of the best looking games I’ve ever seen running on this thing. Disc drive took all of 5 min to install and I added another 2TB of SSD memory that was super easy to uprade for a total of 4TB. You will absolutely notice a difference in your games and load times. It’s up to you if it’s worth the asking price but you are hands down getting the closest thing to a gaming pc the console players have ever had and don’t have to spend hours tweaking settings and options to get your games to run. I am absolutely thrilled with this purchase and was worth it to ensure fames will look best on this for next 5-6 years until the new gen starts.

Modest upgrade over the base PS5 but the extra storage capacity is a huge plus. It’s also incredibly easy to add your own storage. Slightly smaller so it fits better on my entertainment center than the base model. Games will get 120 fps if you have a monitor that supports it.

Purchased this for my son. Hes into gaming and had a few issues with the hdmi cable on his old 1st gen Playstation, so i decided to upgrade to the pro. I had him give his old one which he fixed to one of his friends for free since he was getting a new one, kindness is better. He loves the speex and graphics and the storage is amazing. Purchasex the disc attachment too, which i would highly recommend getting along with the Playstation pro. Great purchase imo.
