Best Christmas Service Ever!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a PS5 from Best Buy just before Christmas, and the entire experience was outstanding. The PS5 itself is incredible with lightning fast load times, stunning graphics, and an overall next level gaming experience that truly lives up to the hype. On top of that, the service at Best Buy was excellent. The staff was knowledgeable, efficient, and made the purchase process smooth and stress free during a busy holiday season. Great product, great service, and a purchase I am very happy with.

Returning fan, glad to be back
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am returned from xbox! I've had every Playstation since original, but I strayed for series x. Game pass had me. But PS plus is vastly improved and is now half the price of gamepass. On top of that, the pro's graphics are gorgeous, the user interface is more versatile, and 2tb of storage is included. Playstation won me back with this one.

Amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS5 Pro is easily Sony’s most powerful console yet, and it shows—games run smoother, look sharper with its new PSSR upscaling, and ray tracing improvements add a lot of visual polish. The upgraded 2TB SSD is a huge quality-of-life boost, and Wi-Fi 7 makes it feel future-proof. Titles like Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth really shine on this hardware, pushing frame rates and fidelity further than the base PS5. That said, the $699 price tag stings, especially since the disc drive and stand are sold separately, and only a limited number of games fully take advantage of the Pro right now. If you’re a hardcore gamer with a 4K display who wants the best PlayStation experience possible, the PS5 Pro delivers. For casual players or those happy with their current PS5, the upgrade may not feel essential.

Power at a Premium
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After several months with the PlayStation 5 Pro, I can confirm it's the most powerful console Sony has ever released. Whether that power matters depends entirely on your gaming priorities and budget. Performance Upgrades The hardware improvements are substantial. The GPU delivers roughly 45% faster rendering than the base PS5, with significantly more compute units and faster memory. The doubled storage capacity is genuinely appreciated since modern games can easily exceed 200GB. PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution), Sony's AI-powered upscaling technology, is the real differentiator. When implemented properly, it's impressive. Games like Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered deliver sharp 4K visuals at 60fps with enhanced ray tracing. The difference from the base PS5 is immediately noticeable, textures look sharper, reflections feel realistic, and performance remains smooth. Enhanced ray tracing performs 2-3 times faster than the base model, creating substantially better lighting and shadows without performance penalties. For anyone with a quality 4K TV or high refresh rate monitor, the visual improvements are clear. That compromise between quality and performance modes essentially disappears here. Significant Issues The lack of included disc drive and vertical stand feels like nickel-and-diming customers on an already expensive console. The digital-only default forces complete reliance on PlayStation Store pricing, eliminating cheaper physical or used game options. PSSR has real problems in certain titles. Games like Silent Hill 2, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and Alan Wake 2 exhibited serious visual artifacts, shimmering surfaces, and unstable image quality. Some games actually look worse than they did on the base PS5. Several developers have disabled PSSR entirely and reverted to traditional upscaling because the AI implementation wasn't working correctly. These issues stem from PSSR being new technology that developers are still learning. Games using older development tools can't access the latest improvements, leaving them with inferior versions. Sony has announced PSSR 2 for 2026, but that doesn't address current problems. Third-party support remains disappointing. Many new releases launch without Pro enhancements, which feels absurd on a premium console. The PlayStation Store doesn't even detail what enhancements are included, you often need to check forums just to determine if a game is optimized. For players focused on single-player campaigns or those without premium displays, improvements often feel marginal. I've completed entire games where I genuinely forgot I was using the Pro because the visual differences became unnoticeable after initial impressions. Who Benefits The Pro serves competitive multiplayer players, those with premium displays, visual fidelity enthusiasts, and anyone who can comfortably afford the investment. For this audience, it delivers the absolute best PlayStation experience available. For everyone else, the value is questionable. The base PS5 plays identical games and still looks excellent. The Pro offers better graphics, not different games. If budget is a consideration or you're satisfied with your current PS5, upgrading makes little sense. The Verdict The PS5 Pro is technically impressive and delivers the best console gaming experience in 2025. The power is genuine, the storage upgrade is welcome, and properly implemented PSSR produces beautiful results. However, the high barrier to entry, missing accessories, inconsistent upscaling performance, and limited third-party support make this a niche product. It's a boutique console for graphics enthusiasts rather than a necessary upgrade.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purshased the ps5 pro because i heard alot of good things about it. Coming from PC with a intel i9, 4080 graphics card i really doubted the ps5 was gonna impress me but mannn. It trully did im playing fornight, and this new season has alot of detail graphics and the ps5 pro is playing it at 170fps the highest i saw it go to a steady 135fps and the box says it only play up to 120fps. So the fact is playing way higher is really impressive. Note i play it on a 65 inch LG G5 TV and for it to play on such a big tv desplaying so high FPS is insane to me.

Amazing Console
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this in anticipation of GTA 6. I already had a launch PS5, so i was skeptical of the improvements this sustem could make. The upgrade from ps4 to ps4 pro was pretty clear, and this didnt wow me from the presentation to purchase day one. Well, ghost of yotei has released and the ray tracing pro setting using the ps5 pro’s PSSR upscaler is a game changer. I switched back from native 4k that runs 30fps, to the pro raytracing that AI upscales to 4k and runs 60fps witb ray tracing. Even in the smallest details I cannot tell a difference its not native 4k. Plus running 60 fps with the raytracing, its a truly incredible machine!

Perfection
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Going from a PS4 Pro to a PS5 Pro is a Dream. Works amazing. Plays games flawlessly. Excellent Experience. No. I don't care about the missing Disc Drive. Its 67% More powerful than the Base PS5 with twice the storage. But not 67% More Expensive. Its Completely Worth it.

One of the Best Upgrades I've Done!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an original PS5 and had a NVMe in it. I took that out of the old one, put it in the new PS5Pro, set it up and all the content I moved there was instantly available to me! The games that has PS5Pro mode look really good. I have been playing Ghost of Yotei on my PS5Pro and also QM8K I also bought at Best Buy and it looks so good on there. Before that TV I didn't have HDR or anything so this was huge for me. I think Pro mode for games that give better Ray Tracing and Performance and the new PSSR2 on it does a great job at up scaling. I also bought the Disc Drive from Best Buy and installed it. It was hard to figure out how to get the plates off but once I did, easy to install and works great. I'm very happy with the upgrade. Picking up in Person from Best Buy was easy and they also asked me for my ID which is awesome and I'm happy they do that.

Great Upgrade from Base PS5
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Previously had the launch PS5 and snagged the PS5 Pro before the price increases kicked in. This is a beast! Runs quieter and better than base model, and paired with my LG OLED, makes the graphics pop. Great purchase.

Ps5 pro the real truth
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as I have been a playstation gamer since the original. I've had all the consoles since launch. This to me is sonys greatest console ever. However the price is very high and also you need to buy the disc drive which is a further £100. Totaling $900 for console and disc drive. To the average consumer that is a huge chunk of money. You also have to have a newer TV with all the bells and whistles on it. Ie vrr. 120htz. 4k.hdr.etc. But once you have all that the difference is mind blowing in games that have been ps5 pro enhanced. Alan wake 2 is absolutely incredible. The details and the ray tracing effects are on another level. Every game so far I have replayed is outstanding in some sort of way. The ps5 pro also enhances certain ps4 games which is fantastic. Giving your old ps4 games a new lease of life. Would I recommend this product. Absolutely. But it is expensive. Very offer 12 months buy now pay later which is a lot less stressful on the wallet. If you are feeling on the fence over this product. Belive me when I say it is an outstanding piece of technology. This is the future of gaming.

Ps5 Pro
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from PS4 Pro:). This has been beyond cool update for me, as it’s been a few years since the ps5 released, so a few things I have enjoyed is the ps4 library is playing nice with the ps5 pro , I enjoyed picking up on games in my library new shine. I also am looking to playing the ps5 library too. Briefly the games I have jumped into I noticed things are wowing me over and over , now I have a quick in and out of my library of games , which the quickness the ps5 pro has brought me to this gem after holding onto my ps4pro for so long, plus the trade I made at Best Buy was so easy and beyond fair. I have a Sony tv last gen 60 hz so I am missing out on a few more features…..now I am saving for my tv upgrade :). Have a great day . This was typed out in the hot sun in my hammock, good day.

||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS5 Pro is a game-changer! The 67% more powerful GPU is no joke—everything looks crisper and runs faster. PSSR technology is a massive step forward for console gaming. It's sleek, powerful, and absolutely the premium experience I was waiting for!

Worth over PS5 Base
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly, I didn’t think it was worth getting a PS5 Pro initially, but the difference was immediately apparent once I had to set up with my Bravia 9. There is absolutely more clarity on games that take advantage of PSSR, and a lot of the frame rate differences make it worth it alone. With the cost of external hard drives, the pro price is somewhat of a bargain nowadays. Though I only recommend if you have an OLED TV, high end monitor or high end miniLED. There is no reason to get this if your TV or panel isn’t top of the line.

Great deal when on sale!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had a PS5 since they launched and decided it was time to upgrade because of the black friday sale that was going. I was able to trade in my original PS5 for almost what i originally paid for it and then got $100 off the PS5 Pro. Based on that it was 100% worth the upgrade for me. It downloads games much faster, the remote gaming from the portal os smoother, and it seems to run cooler. Graphics might be better and crisper but its hard to tell, and I am using an Alienware gaming monitor with it. The big difference is holding the higher frame rate while playing. Does it all add up to the cost of the Pro and then the additional cost of the disc drive without any discounts or trade in deals? For me it doesn't which is why I only gave it 4 stars. The slim would have sufficed if I was purchasing for the first time and a disc drive should be standard on the Pro at the current cost.
