Spme things are different, and some are the same. The menu is hard to figure out. Too bad I didn't know that my dynamic themes would not work. I miss the one I purchased on my PS4. However, the PS5 is faster with loading. A pro is only better if you have a 4k tv. I don't. The PSN store still has issues loading. I have noticed quite a bit of lag that I didn't have on the PS4. The connections with other players are better. I just wanted to upgrade before these got expensive again. If it weren't for the worries of obtaining better peer to peer connections, I wouldn't really want to upgrade. Elden Ring wasn't letting is connect using PS4 to PS5 and vice-versa. So that's resolved. We haven't been able to connect since December 2024 updates. Sony never addressed it. I'm still not sure if the upgrade was worthwhile outside of that.

I have an Xbox, but wanted the ability to play some of the ps5 games, there are things I like and don’t like. The system is easy to use although quite large, so be mindful of where it will sit. The controller and haptics are amazing. The controllers are larger, so if you have smaller hands, there will be an adjustment period. The system works great and games load reasonably fast. Cons I do not like that when game reloads it drops me somewhere in the game and not exactly where I was when I saved and exited.

finally upgraded to the PS5 Slim and I couldn't be happier. The reduced size makes a huge difference in my media center, and it runs incredibly quiet even during intense gaming sessions. The 1TB of storage is a nice bump over the original model, giving me just enough extra room for a few more AAA titles. Replacing my PS4. What a difference the PS5 makes! I am not a real experienced game player so when I "die" and game has to reload the last checkpoint the PS4 took a long time. With the new PS5, within second I am right back into dying over and over aging without the long wait to reload my games. Graphics are also much better and make game play more fluid. The extra money for the disk version allows me to take advantage of playing PS4 games, and is also needed to play PS4 games that have free upgrade to PS5 version.

I bought this for my younger son as a Christmas present to replace his aging Playstation 4. He is an avid gamer along with many of his friends and loved his Playstation 4. He'd been using it since new (with the original hard drive too!) but it was clearly showing its age. I did some research and settled on this mid-tier Playstation 5 with an internal optical drive. He has many games on physical media so this was the clear chaoice. He opened this on Christmas Eve and connected to our home network immediately. The system had to update itself by downloading the available patches and then he spent time loading the games he plays. Throughout the whole process you can tell this is a well engineered and well built system. The download times continuously exceeded what was indicated on screen and all his games load amazingly fast. While it was a pricey upgrade it was worth doing because he uses the system every day. On a side note he also installed the relevant apps from the store to watch YouTube and Netflix right from his P/S 5. So if you or your child is a gamer and prefers the Playstation to the Xbox grab one today! You will not be disappointed!

Truly the ultimate gaming machine! PS5 boots up quick and graphics are amazing. I have the PS5 connected to a home theater system, which only enhances the game play. I love the way the PS5 looks, it's quite sleek and looks great as part of my home theater setup. I subscribed to Playstation Plus and have been able to access to many great games in the catalog, either download or streaming. I've only watched one blue ray on the PS5 and it worked just fine. One area I did run into some issues was the remote game play on my ipad. While it worked, the game would sometimes freeze up or the frames would get jittery, however I recognize this could also be an issue with the WIFI of my remote location, nevertheless it still worked and me and my kids were sill able to enjoy the PS5 while away from home.

picked up the PS5 Slim recently, and I’m honestly so happy with it. It has all the power of the original PS5 but in a much cleaner, lighter design that doesn’t take up a ton of space. It looks great on my setup. What really impressed me is how fast everything loads games start almost instantly, and the graphics are super smooth. The console runs quietly, and the DualSense controller still feels amazing with the vibration and triggers. Overall, it just makes gaming feel fun and effortless. If you’ve been thinking about upgrading or grabbing a PlayStation, the PS5 Slim is 100% worth it.

This PlayStation 5 is really amazing. The graphics are on it are unbelievable. I made sure, that I bought a very good HDMI cable to support the 4K reception. I enjoy not only the graphics but the speed of play with the games. The setup is also amazing. I got a t-bite 1000 gig storage playstation. But the crew at Best Buy told me about an optional internal storage I can buy. I did it, it was easy to install, and I added two more gigs of internal space onto the one gig that already had. So now I can download games without worrying about saving space.
