The rating above is for the total Best Buy "Open Box" experience, and not for the console itself (which I would rate with 4 starts (it's a little disappointing as a PS console) but I needed to purchase it in order to play Stellar Blade. The purchase price was 434.99, which is $15 less than a new digital version but I wanted the disc drive. The "Open Box" condition was listed as EXCELLENT. Which I took to mean that it was practically new and included everything except maybe the box and paperwork. But it would be a Slim PS5 with a disc drive. I didn't really care about the Spider-Man game. What arrived (in a battered cardboard box, with no bill of sale) was and older model PS5 with controller and cables. It was very poorly packed and easily slid from side to side in the box. It was visibly dirty and dusty, with deep scratches and crushed corners. This was not the slim model advertised on the BB website. It had the all white covers without the black line break across the middle. I felt like I had been played. Fortunately in the intervening time, a local store now had a new unit that could be purchased for $449.99. So I packed up the unit with the same care that BB had shown and drove the 16 miles to get a new one. The employee was surprised that there was no paperwork for the purchase in the box and struggled to get the machine to be recognized in the system. They seemed surprised that the unit was sold as in "Excellent" condition as well. "Fair" conditional was more like it. So I got my refund and purchased the new system, drove 16 miles back home and downloaded the Stellar Blade demo. I am happy but still resentful that Best Buy thought that this would be a good customer experience. *BTW* There is now an Open Box unit for sale at $360 for an "Excellent" Open Box Spider-Man 2 console on the website. DON'T BE FOOLED! Best Buy, donate that console to charity or at the very least offer it on EBAY with images of the actual console so people know what they are getting.

I got this in the mail and I opened the box and everything was “good.” I come to find out the charging cable, the hdmi cord and the spider man bar code was scratched and used already. The ps5 and controller were in perfect condition but everything else was bad. Its not worth the 25 dollars diffrence just buy a new one.

Great system. Love Spiderman 2 btw. I’ve been wanting one for a while now.
