    Great game!

Played the game at MLG all weekend! It is great! Has soo much potential. From learning combos to increase AP to discovering the system has AP burst combos that give you Huge AP for building bars to spend for winning the game. Each character feels different then each other. It rangers from combo heavy characters to range/zoning characters. Levels change almost nonstop meaning you have to fight almost the entire time to win! Very action pack and a blast. With Sony wanting to take the game to a competitive level with 1v1 and 2v2. It's gonna be soo much fun!!!! Must buy for any fan of free for alls or a party game itself..

It's pretty obvious that they are "borrowing" from the Super Smash Brothers franchise, but let's face it: who hasn't wanted to see if Chop Chop Master Onion's training was any good for Parappa? I've only played it a few times, and I already see how much fun it will be with a few friends. Simple controls, but not too simple for pros. Lot's of great characters. Tons of attacks and combos. Killer visuals. Fun, fun, fun. If you liked Smash Brothers you'll like this one. Go out and buy it.

The Good vs Bad about PlayStation All-Stars: B.R.

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

PlayStation All-Stars has been on my radar even before it was announced to the public as Title Fight. Ever since I've played Super Smash Bros. Melee, I've always wanted a fighting game just like it for the PlayStation and even Xbox. I'm a huge fan of 4-player brawlers and have purchased a few games that can relate to Smash Bros. (i.e: Rag Doll Kung-Fu and Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL) over the last couple years. Now that PlayStation All-Stars has been released, was it the game that I've been hoping for? Find out by reading on in my good vs bad review! As for the good things about PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale; Every character is unlocked right from the beginning. This would usually make a fighting game rather boring due to the lack of a challenge and replay value, but there are more things to unlock in this game that mostly involve customization. Costumes, taunts, battle intros, victory poses, victory music, titles, and even profile cards (much like player cards in Call of Duty) can be unlocked. All you need to do to unlock these extra goodies is play as your character of choice, level them up as much as you'd like, and then head to the Customize option in the Main Menu. Oh and just a little heads up: you can only unlock items based on the character you're playing as. In terms of the controversial combat for this game, there's clearly some relevance to other titles. However, this game isn't at all a copy and paste and actually does some things better than its competitors. For starters, the learning curve for PlayStation All-Stars is actually quite large compared to most games like it. The only way for you to take out your opponent is by attacking them enough to build up your super bars level. This bar can be filled 3 times and the higher its level is, the more brutal your characters super attack will be once it's activated. Though this sounds relatively simple to accomplish, it's far from it. Every character in the roster has a diverse style that'll take some studying if you wish to be victorious, and button mashing definitely won't help you win any battles. The stages in PlayStation All-Stars are insane, which almost makes up for the fact that there are only 12 of them (and 6 "practice" maps). Just about every stage in the game is dynamic, which means that they go through changes in real-time while you're taking on your opponents. As some levels change, hazards may appear that could lower your super bar or even make you change your tactics. Thankfully, in the event that you become a victim to hazards such as falling off of the level or being eaten, it doesn't count as a death. You will however, lose quite a few of points from your super bar and be in a stunned state for a few seconds. After downloading and playing this game on my Vita (thanks to the new Cross-Buy system), I've yet to notice any significant differences between the two. Everything looks and feels the same in terms of the gameplay, though the Vita version can obviously be played on the go. As long as you have a decent WiFi connection, your ability to play online with other Vita owners and even those playing on the PS3 should be just fine. I've been able to play online in-between my classes and even in the lobby of my doctor's office with very few issues regarding lag. As for the bad things about PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale; Arcade mode (the campaign) is a pretty disappointing. Your opponents are a bit too easy to face even on the hardest difficulty, the rivalries (though pretty cool in theory) are mostly rather silly, and the cutscenes leave a lot to be desired. The games soundtrack is also a bit of a let-down, and there are a few small bugs such as being unable to see one of your opponents in online matches and having an infinite lasting level 3 super. Aside from that, PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale is definitely the game that I've been hoping for. If you're a Sony fan or just like 4-player brawlers, this game is a must buy. If you aren't any of those, I'd at least give this game a chance with a rental. But before you rent it, just know that Sony has decided to hop aboard the online pass bandwagon… PlayStation All-Stars gets a solid 4 out of 5.

A great game for family night.

I purchased this game because I wanted something I could play with my wife and two children at the same time. My kids also like the fact that they can have two friends over to play and no one feels left out. There are lots of characters to choose from and many different fighting arenas. This game is very similar to Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo. If you’re looking for a fun, non gory fighting game for the family; this is a must buy. This game can be played with one to four players and also has online capability if you choose.

This game is always keeping you on your toes and I like that for a fighting game. The different characters are varied and fun to play as, the story line leaves much to be desired. Great if you have a playstation vita as you can download a new copy of this game when you buy the PS3 version

Fun multiplayer game similar to Super Smash Bros, but can't compared. The characters and their moves are cool. Storyline was alright, although each character was slightly unique. Not alot of online play, but still fun. A great overall family & friends game to pick up for this occasion

    ALMOST More Fun Than Tekken!

I love the Tekken games but when I received All-Stars Battle Royale for my birthday, I was skeptical whether I'd like it. But after 1 battle round with my brother, I loved it and found it ALMOST more fun than Tekken! ...almost :) The blend/mix of characters and battle grounds to choose from other based games (such as God of War, Metal Gear, Twisted Metal, Sly Cooper, Jack & Dexter, etc) is what makes All-Stars Battle Royale entertaining.

I just bought the game yesterday and it grabbed my attention from the moment I started playing. There are so many things you can do in this game. Yes I am still learning alot. I havent tried playing with all the characters yet but I can't wait to do so. I would definetily recommend this game to everyone that enjoyed Play station for years with all there past, present, and even future characters.

Playstation Allstars was absolutely amazing! I grew up playing the Super Smash Bros, and was excited when I heard this game was coming out. This game should be an immediate highlight for playstation 3 owners! I am super excited for the new characters coming to the stores soon, but wonder why they didn't add more to begin with.

Really enjoying this game after my purchase a couple days ago. Its a very fun game. And at this price of only 15 bucks where can you go wrong. The game itself keeps you very busy and entertained. Each character has there own special moves and bring someone new to the table.

Game is great. Lots of characters to choose, different level sthat are fun to play in, and honors the playstation history of variety. Though this is mainly played online, I play this game offline with friends every week which makes this a smash hit. Nothing comes close to the fun that is offered on the couch and for those that want something that is fun, easy to learn and play, and most of all, interesting, then this game is what you should be after. My favorite character is Fat Princess.
