Customers are saying

Customers love the PlayStation Classic Console's affordable price and the inclusion of two controllers, finding it easy to use and a nostalgic trip down memory lane. However, many are disappointed with the limited game selection and some have noted issues with the emulation quality. The compact size is also a frequently praised feature.

I got this on sale and figured at the price I got it on sale, I can ignore many of the negative reviews I have seen for this online. The games are not as plentiful as I would like, but if the games you want are on here, it's not bad for $20. There's no improvement in the graphics department, and it does not play in widescreen--so be cognizant of that if you're playing this on say, an OLED TV--you might get some burn in. The controllers are lightweight, the cables are short--so expect to be right up at your TV as you play--just like when we were kids, but this time with a huge flat screen.

decent collection of ps1 games, tho i wish other titles could be here. some games are an emulation of PAL (European version) and again maybe my reaction time or some inputs could have lag inputs.

When Sony announced the PS1 Classic, I was very excited. I spent countless hours on that console and could not wait to play Tomb Raider, Tony Hawk, Wipeout and Crash Bandicoot. None of those games were included and now you can buy the system half price at every retailer. The truth is, Nintendo just did it better with their NES and SNES Classic systems for less money. Considering that Sony was late to the game with a retro console and decided to charge more, you'd think they would have put together a decent list of games. Sorry, but I have no interest in playing Intelligent Qube and Mr. Driller. Pass on this one.

Bought my version after the price drops and a deal. The two usb ps1 cables feel great and sturdy. The game selection could be better but if you want you could learn how to change that. The charger needed is any standard USB charger and I personally just used a old phone one lying around.

Short and simple review. If you enjoy the games on this system, then it's worth every penny. But if you don't, then you might be better off just buying an old ps1 and those games. It's a fun experience if you are a big fan of the classic system. Since the price went down I'd say it's worth it now.

As the price keeps falling, it's becoming a great buy. Becomes a must have if you can mod it and add games. Only downside if it does NOT come with USB Wall Adapter. It even says so on the box (which I missed completely despite it having a yellow corner warning on the box cover itself.)

It's a good system to have. Especially with the ridiculous price drops. Worth the 40. I mean yes the emulation could be better but for 40 it does the job. Besides, it's easily modded. Add all sorts of new games with just a USB stick.

Good value for the price, Some of the games are in PAL format and are struggling with frame rate. I honestly would never have bought this without the great price at Best Buy provided. Definitely not worth the hundred dollar MSRP, but for $20 it is the perfect budget mini console...

It's got some nostalgic value to you if you grew up playing games in the late 90s, but many iconic titles are missing.

Super easy tutorial mod online can turn this $20 investment into a well worth collectible! Yes some of the games are a little glitchy, but getting versions of Metal Gear, Final Fantasy VII, Odd World and Twisted Metal are worth the $20 alone, just think of the rest as an added bonus!

Honestly this is very lack luster. The interface, the game selection, was much to be desired. Only saving grace is that you can mod it and add extra games via USB.

If you grew up on the original PlayStation in the 90s, then this classic console might be a nice dose of nostalgia. With two controllers in the box, you can play some multiplayer games from the get-go. In my opinion this isn’t worth the MSRP, but definitely buy if it’s on sale.

The reduced price of the retro device is what made me jump on this buy. It is ok, but not great. The 20 or so game selection is questionable, but still includes a couple of my favorites. On pure nostalgia, I will give this a good rating.

So much potential wasted. Not enough games to warrant a 100 dollar price tag. 20 bucks is the sweet spot. Should have had the option to play old games.

PS Classic received lots of criticism at it's original MSRP and for good reason. Most stores including BB did drop the price accordingly. It works well for the price and if you search online there are countless mods available that will make it even better.

The Playstation Classic Console brings back great memories from the past. All my favorite games were faithfully reproduced - I felt like a kid again. Some games played better than others and you can see the progress made over the years in gaming. Overall I am satisfied with the purchase.

While it does have some decent games on it, it is not worth the full price of $99. However, on sale, it is worth it because you can find USB expansions on Amazon that include a lot of games. Just search for TrueBlue on Amazon and look for the PlayStation Classic USB sticks.
