The hackability saves this from being a complete failure. Some people like this console, some don't. Most consider the game selection to be lackluster, and some of the games are the slower FPS PAL versions. Hackers have developed methods to access the emulator settings to force the better FPS NTSC output and add more games, but do this at your own risk.

This console is garbage. It got price dropped from $99.99 to $59.99 within a month of it's initial release. If you unlocked console and added more games and features it might be worth it, but AS IS it's not worth more then $19.99 purchase the game selection is poor and they use PAL versions of a lot of the games which is not good, because US res is 60hz while PAL is 50hz which makes noticeable slowdown. The parts inside are also very cheap which leads to poor emulation of the games you can hear how horrible some of the games sound if you take a look on youtube. All in all this system is not worth buying even at the lowered $59.99 price point, so I am returning mine for a refund.

Sony clearly dropped the ball on the classic. Most of the games are junk youll never even play, they left out a ton of better titles. Theres no reason they couldnt have made this with 50 or more games included. The controllers lack rumble and analog sticks and add to all this it doesnt even come w an ac adapter to plug the thing in. Pass!

I'm glad I got this " Playstation thing" for a lower price. It is not very good at all. This does not bode well with me. The games lag, the soundtracks lag, the controllers are a joke. If you stretch the screen on the TV you get a odd over lap effect once in a while. I know there is not much that can be done graphic wise. There are much better options to play these games. Requiring the original game, a PS1 or PS2 with a certain HDMI converter (that came out a few months ago) works WAY better. Also the PS3 is good too, even if the game is downloaded. Best Buy should carry a converter as such... I feel Sony wants to kill retro gaming by putting this out. I hope they do not bother with a PS2 classic. Perhaps just perhaps they will make it up in the near future with a fully backwards compatible system...

You really blew it Sony. From the PAL games - underwater experience, terrible input lag; to the awful 2m long controller cord; to not including an AC adapter; on and on...you blew it here Sony. Happily returning. This is awful, unplayable.

This thing is awful. The list of games is bad enough... but the worst part is that a large part of them are in the PAL format and there is no way to fix the resolution for your modern tv. Do not waste your money. This thing is absolutely terrible. Taking mine back as soon as possible.

Game selection aside, it has a few issues with the PAL games that are installed. It could have been a dream console, but it is fun for the family to play the games it comes with. I've had a PS1 and this brought back all of the memory of the years and good times gone by.

Classic PSX at a great price! You will love gaming on this product. Comes with awesome games. Quality time kill. Nostalgic.

As Shakespeare would say... Hackable or not Hackable that's the question... Is a very nice thing to have... A little overpriced is true... But with a potential hack underway... Is worth the money...

I grew up with the Playstation in the late 90s. I have played many of these games. What is on this monstrosity is a joke and a half. I have played a lot of Tekken 3 back in the day and don't recall being so laggey. I double checked multiple TVs and the original disc between my PS2 and my PS3. I really hope who ever is responsible for this blunder get fired. They have missed a good opportunity and ruined my childhood memory. Even those awful AtGames Sega systems from a few years ago you could get for $40 back then still holds a higher value than this thing. I hope the plastic shell is durable to some bottle rockets and M-80s.

I did end up buying 2 of them, I mean at 20 bucks each you can't go wrong, and honestly, that's all its worth at this point. I will say this, it is a decent "cough" mod machine. Outside of that if you are buying it for the nostalgia, there are other things out there that will fill the void. I think the only way any place would get rid of these things now is if they sell them at the 20-25 dollar range

I was disappointed with the games came with the console. There are so many good title they could have chosen.

Terrible game selection. No borders for the games (they don't take up full screen). About half the games are PAL version so they run at a lower frame rate. Price is too high for what you get. It doesn't come with a wall plug for USB. Poor attempt to sum up the great ps1. Cash grab.

This product would have way better if some effort is put. The fact most games are lagging. Not only some games are imported horrible but other games that were America release are the same. There isn't a power brick by the way in case you wonder. I wouldn't buy this product.

Like many, I bought into the Retro Console craze, and despite the negative attention before release I kept with it. I got the console, and after a day I hate it. The attention to physical detail is great, the console looks like the original despite being much smaller. The buttons on the console have the same give and feel like the original. The letdown is the software. Yes there are only 20 games, but they look terrible. Reading the text on the screen is unbearable. Even a low res game like grand theft auto is not enjoyable. To see the guides for the games, you have to go to the playstation website so you can see the controls.

Without bleemsync it is worthless. Install bleemsync and games on external hard drive or flashdrive thumbstick (minimum 32 gbs) and you are ready to go! Get all the games you want. There are plenty of tutorials on youtube and videos with the download links and you just copy and paste!
