A week ago I would've said a USB is a USB and as long as it's the right size, what's there to say about it? But now I'm not so sure. I transferred some music files to one of them and used it in our truck. We listened to music from here to Washington and back. The USB had some extra room, so I took it out to record a few more songs and put it back in the truck. The USB port on the truck would not recognize it after that, no matter what I did. I tried leaving it in for awhile, changing ports, jiggling it, etc. I tried the second USB in the pack and it was recognized immediately, so something went wrong with the first one. The good thing is that I bought it at Best Buy. I had no problem exchanging it for another set - or returning it if that was my choice. The second set has worked fine. It was just inconvenient to find and transfer all the files again. Now that it's in place, I don't plan on removing it for a very long time. It does make me wonder, though, if it will hold up to repeated plugging and unplugging. I read several complaints about the plastic shield that covers the end of the stick. While I don't really see the need for it, I didn't have any problem pulling it back.
