After about three months, my 64GB Attache also became Write Protected. I have no idea how, but it behaves as if an external write protect switch has been moved to the read only position. I have searched the web and tried everything. Most resources say you can definitely perform a low-level format to resolve the problem, but this doesn't do it. Even the low-level format tool from the PNY website doesn't work on the 64GB product (IC not supported or something like that). Other low-level format utilities report errors. I consider it bricked - except I can still read the small amount of files I originally put on it.

Good 64GB flash drive. Great price. Expected blue color that was pictured, but received wrong color. Looked up the UPC on another site, and it showed the other color. I didn't have time to return it. Oh, well.

This flash drive has worked great, and, for the price that I purchased it, has been a great value.

It seemed like a good deal at the time, about 80 cents/GB. I never got to use even near the full capacity when, during a large multi-file transfer the device quit and asked me to scan it for errors. Sadly, that failed with a "Device is write protected" error or some such. All attempts to remedy the problem were met with the same intractable error. No amount of cajoling will add or remove files from this bugger. I'm afraid that the only recourse is to subject the casing to multiple blows from my hammer and consign it to the pyre.

It probably works fine with other devices, however when using it with our DVR the images glitch frequently during playback, causing the loss of dialog and bad picture quality. I bought this flash drive because it was on sale and it has plenty of memory, but evidently it is not fast enough for the DVR. I will attempt to use it in a different capacity, so hopefully it will work better.

I can't transfer any more the 2 GB of info before it crashes. Never had that happened to a jump drive before and I have purchased lots of them. I scanned it for viruses and formatted over and over again. It doesn't work. Got so frustrated with it. Just threw it in the trash.

It's almost too small sometimes. It can be easy to misplace. Works great though.

If I could review with ONE star, I would for this item. I bought it about 4 months ago. Last week, the device (after properly ejecting from my WIN PC) failed. Specifically, there is WRITE PROTECT error. I can read files on the device, but cannot write additional data to the drive. I can't reformat, because it is in WRITE PROTECTED now. Tech support not helpful. Steer clear from this device, and PNY.

At first the device performed both read and write functions as it should. The next time I tried to write data to the flash drive it denied access stating the device was "read only". I could not alter this changed function, rendering the flash drive unusable for my purposes. Having said that, I am not convinced this is a defect of the product line, but rather an anomaly I happened to experience. Hence, I am going to request an exchange of this product at the nearest Best Buy store (considerable distance from where I live) as soon as I can get there. If the replacement flash drive indeed performs to specs, I will then write a more favorable review. Until then, I cannot recommend this product to a friend.

At first I thought this drive was great. It worked well for about 9months. By this time I had thrown away the receipts it came with, which was my mistake it seems it last about a little under a year then for no reason at all it stops working. Not sure if its poor design construction or bad I.C. chips but it went bad. Needless to say it took a lot of info with it. Can't be read or recognized. Believe me it's not the computer's, I've tried. It's not dependable. Don't get it. If you do make sure you keep the receipt at least you can get a 1yr on it. What was the real bummer part was I bought about 15+ of them some 32g, and gave them away as presents for Christmas. 2 have failed already. >><< Hope those were the only one's that failed and my friends don't kill me later. PNY makes great video cards and memory chips... but flash drives LOL >><<

I use this USB FD only for longterm saving files but when I need those files I have to wait 3-4 hours to move. Sometimes 5 hours

I also experienced the write-protected problem. I cannot add files to the disk and it cannot be reformatted. Don't buy this product.

It's a USB 2.0 writing speed, so it's a lot slower compared to the now standard 3.0 .

brought it last year for system backup. first I tried it on mac. the system could not find it. then I plugged it in pc. required formatting. so after format, i could see the flash drive logo on screen, but i could not open it. until bestbuy gave me a new one, this one works well.

Bought this less than 4 months ago at the recommendation of a BBY sales associate. Being on vacation for almost 2 months, it stayed in its original package for at least 6 weeks. When I finally started using it, it was unbelievably slow. I can tolerate that to a point. But it's also constructed out of cheap plastic. I use it almost daily between three computers. After only a month, I began noticing cracks in the plastic housing that enters the computer. Yesterday, the black plastic connection piece inside that housing broke. Tons of files on there I use for work and no way to access them. And I am one who takes care of his things and do not abuse them. Thanks for nothing but aggravation.

Got this as Christmas gift and it worked great for almost 4 months Windows sez it needs formatting but when I try to RE-format, it refuses to be formatted. PNY warranty requires the invoice or bill of sale, which I don't have.

I should be so lucky to have a tech person show up as to how to get this to fit into my PC as it DOESNT! tried it in three differnet ports! also "owners manual" which is supposed to ship with it was not included!
