This is a great drive. It was very easy to replace my old drive and install in a name brand laptop that is 7 years old. However, I had to search the internet to know exactly what to do to install it. Once I found instructions and video, it went smoothly. The drive is very fast.

Saw this on sale and figured it was a good choice for my 1st SSD purchase. I am using it in my 6 year old HP DV7 that previously had a Seagate Hybrid drive. The included software made the transitions pretty straight forward and quick. Biggest issue was cleaning out the 750gb Seagate drive to get it down to an easier to handle size for the SSD. The Seagate hybrid drive made a huge improvement from the original standard hdd so I wasn't expecting a huge difference with this SSD since it is a budget SSD. I did notice a slightly faster boot up time for Win 7. But definitely noticed the difference when it came to programs starting up. I am very happy with the performance of this SSD in my old laptop. And glad that my DV7 has 2 hdd bays so I am able to take advantage of an SSD main drive and still have a 1TB hdd 2nd drive to store pictures, videos etc. on and have the SSD for programs. For my 1st SSD I couldn't ask for more considering price and performance.

Got this SSD during bestbuy sale for 60 dollars. For the price, you cannot go wrong with PNY SSD quality. SSD is nicely build and design, it also comes with a one year warranty. Definitely will recommend this SSD to someone who is looking to upgrade from a HDD to SSD since pny provides a free cloning software.

I bought this to replace the Original SATA drive in my iMac and the difference is night and day as my iMac is 100% faster than it ever was! I should of gotten a bigger SSD Drive than this one but this was a great value for the money and I use an external for backup anyway. You will notice the improvement in startup and speed immediately.

The SSD drive was easy to install. I used the included software to clone my old hard drive to the SSD, removed the old drive, and booted right up. Windows 10 had no issues with the change. It made a definite performance difference. Boot up speed is much faster. Programs launch quicker. The bang for the buck is a good value!

Did not care for the software but the drive itself works great! Needed a smaller SSD for a backup laptop and picked this up. The software wouldn't work for me even after trying to figure it out. Used another free backup software to clone the HDD to the SSD and it worked fine. Drive is fast and works flawlessly so far!

Good Ssd for the price, definitely increases your speed when you upgrade from a regular hard drive.

Simple upgrade for a standard 2.5 inch laptop hard drive - the speed of the SSD plus the lower power use means my laptop runs faster while still the batteries last longer.

Love the ssd, performs great and is fast. Install in a old laptop or desktop to make them fast again!!!

I bought this PNY drive because it was cheap and my store didn't carry Intel branded drives any longer. I bought this to speed up my ASUS Q550L which while being a high end laptop with an i7, was not fast at all thanks to the 5400 RPM hard drive that ASUS decided to pair with it. From there I cloned the old hard drive using the provided software and swapped out the drives once the process was done and kept the old drive is a dark safe place in the packaging that the SSD came in. After having the SSD for nearly a month in the same laptop all I have to say is that I am impressed for the speed that this SSD gives. It is actually faster than my Intel 530 series SSD that is in my desktop, and that is saying something from a no name memory mfg that sources B grade MLC NAND. Using Crystal Disk Mark I was able to net 540 MB/s consistent read and writes in Windows 10. All in all a very good drive for the money I spent. Oh yeah and Best Buy price matched this down for a sale that Amazon had.

Easy to install, no hassel. Speeded up my NetBook and made it more usable.

We bought this drive to replace an ailing 750GB hard disk. The "included" software was an activation code for software you had to download from Acronis. That software failed to migrate the ~100GB of data from the hard disk to the SSD because the SSD is smaller than the hard disk - even shrinking the hard disk partition didn't help. We used Macrium Reflect to migrate to the SSD and have been thrilled with the performance boost.

I have the new SSD hard drives because they are at least 10-100x faster than normal 7200 rpm hard drives. The performance is good, system runs very cool and quiet since it has no moving parts. Also the battery life improved slightly.

Selected this one based on overall speed and price. there are faster one and there are less expensive ones. Put this in a desktop, boots so fast now. ONLY have Windows 10 on it. Everything else on as regular hard drive.

Laptop install was easy. Cloning did not work, had to backup and restore. This new SSD thing is fast. I switched from a disc based drive. What a world of difference. My i5 is now running like an i7! Boots in 10 seconds.

I installed this hard drive in a Windows Vista laptop and boy did it make a difference. I had no problem cloning the hard drive to the SSD. The SSD makes the laptop run fast enough that we will be able to use it for several more years. I also got excellent support from PNY who quickly answered the questions I had about the drive and installation.

This product even in an 8+year old pc boosted the pc's performance so much I am running Windows 10 64bit with NVidia 610 graphics card (graphics card purchased from BestBuy also) and 4gb of memory this pc was slow granted it still is but with adding the SSD it boosted speed and performance so much I couldn't have asked for a better product.

I work in IT and I'm always replacing bad hard drives and now that 240GB SSDs can be bought for $65 you'd be crazy not to buy one. I almost exclusively replace hard drives with this SSD. It makes your PC faster than its ever been, even when it was brand new it wasn't as fast as it is with a SSD in it (unless it came with an SSD, obvi). I think that this is the tipping point, the beginning of the steep adoption rate of the S-curve. Everyone should be getting one now, there's little reason to purchase a normal hard drive now because 99% of people have less data on their PCs than this drive can hold. It's much faster and more reliable than a normal hard drive and now it's basically the same price.
