I didn't realize until I brought this home that it wouldn't hold everything on the hard drive I have now. So Best Buy got to sell this one again. And it's a shame, since I really was looking forward to the performance boost from not having a mechanical hard drive. Thankfully, Windows 10 boots much faster than previous versions of Windows.

Not the highest end for the money, but PNY keeps delivering competitively priced (on sale) SSD that deliver the goods. While this is a TLC drive, and we'll see performance long-term, it does a great job from the start - refurbishing pretty much any computer instantly. Came with a spacer if you have an ultraslim 7mm SATA slot on your laptop (like some early ultrabooks) it will fit, otherwise stick on the spacer for a nice snug fit.

Before purchasing this PNY SSD, I had never used a SSD before. Now that my computer has one, I don't think I can go back to using the standard, old HDD of ages past.

Computer now boots 5-6 times faster and programs also open 5-6 times faster as well as battery lasts a little longer. I have purchased about 6 of these in the last year to speed up both new and old computers. I would recommend a solid state drive to everyone, even in a brand new computer that does not have one, you won't regret it.

I used this SSD to replace the slow hard drive in my 2011 MacBook Pro, and it's a world of difference how fast everything loads.

This PNY SSD fits and works well in my Dell Latitude E5410. The imaging software is downloaded from their website, and I was able to clone the old hard drive onto the SSD.

I put this drive in an older computer to replace a failed HDD. The computer is so much faster than it ever was. It boots up in less than 10 seconds now!

I've tried other brands (with the exception of Samsung), and PNY is the best so far. Performance is VERY fast, boot up times are within a few seconds, and I have not had a problem with the drive itself. I cannot say the same for some of the other brands I have tried which experienced bad sectors. I did not think that was possible with SSD drives but it happened twice with other brands, NEVER with PNY.

I have a mid 2010 Macbook pro with a 256 hard drive and with software up grades it was real slow, i have some newer laptops with SSD'S so i took a chance and had one of these SSD installed WOW what a difference it runs like a new computer and i got on sale for 45.00 or so worth every penny my Macbook is kind of fast now and it never waits on the hard drive now best 45.00 i ever spent!!!!

Before you buy a new computer in search of increased speed, buy a solid state hard drive first. It will more than triple your speed. Boots in less than 20 seconds. Only draw back to solid state hard drives is the higher price per GB, but it's still far cheaper than buying a new pc. A new PC with a traditional disk drive will be SLOWER than an older PC with a solid state hard drive.

Except for the size, just as good as the 480GB version which I also reviewed: Older Macs with 3G SATA hardware see 6G SATA drives as 1.5G (which is awful). This PNY CS1311 has the proper electronics to downgrade itself for use as 3G in 3G Macs as well as running at the full speed 6G in newer Macs (and PCs). Have bought many of these and never had an issue. Great product.

Tested device as additional storage for my laptop. Read and write was very quick. will be used as the boot drive in my gaming computer.

Ordered 2 of these. Installed one in a Windows laptop and one in a MacBook Pro and they worked great in both! They were very fast and a great price!

Haven't had any issues with these drives, reliable compatible and easy to install. That said there are a couple of SSD producers that I think make faster more responsive drives.

I installed this in a 3 year-old PC and it now runs like a new PC. I would highly recommend it to anyone needing a replacement drive.

Speeds up windows load time from over a minute to under 8 seconds. Great speed great price. Only caution to others if you used your upgrade to Windows 10 you'll have to buy it as the upgrade gives you no product key. And you'll more than likely have to re-associate you programs on your current HDD unless it's small enough to clone over to this. No complaints.

It was easy to install. and less heat from the laptop and quiet.

500+MB read and write when using a SATA3 connection. Given the performance of this drive, the value is amazing. Uses TLC NAND intead of MLC like the pricer drives. Phison really put some work in for the S10 controller as previous SSDs with TLC NAND type were usually half the speed.

This one replaced my old 1 TB HDD that died. Windows 10 boot up is almost instantly now, compared to the old HDD which take minutes to boot. I'd recommend switch over from the noisy spinning hard drive to the solid state drive if you're experiencing delays. This simple replacement renewed/refreshed my PC. It feel new, quiet, and fast again.
