This drive worked about an hour or so. I backed up a few files and then took a 2 hour nap with the drive in the notebook and the computer on. I came back and could not read the drive. I am going to return the drive tomorrow. Maybe heat got to it?

Unfortunately I bought this item and it was a dud. I know any brand is capable of a lemon so I won't judge the entire brand based on this one transaction. Nevertheless, I took it home, plugged it in, and nothing! I had to return it.

I am pretty disappointed in this purchase. It was a great deal the whole 128gb in a flash drive. We've had some good experiences with PNY products but this one has been a disappointing me. Makes me rethink the whole buying thumb drives from PNY greater then 32gb.
So what happened? It just stopped working. Yes the red light would flash for a brief second (the same amount of time I am hoping it will work again).. but then it would disappear.
Luckily, I had one last chance to transfer anything I had on it before it became super unuseful

The only usb storage device I have that oscillates between 100 to 5 mb/s, averaging like 40 to 50 mb/s. Generally, I understand this to be an issue with capacitors on cheaply made storage controllers. I don't expect PNY to have the best performance, but I at least expect a USB 3.0 device to get more than 150 mb/s on average. This is barely better than USB 2.0 and I think I'll be using another brand from now on. I'd rather pay more to just not deal with this sort of thing.

There should’ve been some way to keep up or secure the flash drive. The hole to thread a string through is soo small. I wouldn’t purchase this one again for that reason.

I need to buy this item for my daughter. This is her first year in college and everything is new to her. I forgot how expensive it is. I was glad that I remember that Best Buy matches prices and would have it stock.
Thanks,

To store 140 GB of data, it took over SIXTY (60) HOURS. The data arrived safely, but that speed is not what one expects from USB 3.0. I verified the problem is not my computer by transferring data to another flash memory, and the speed was about 25 times as fast as the transfer speed to this product. I don't know what the problem is, given the preponderance of favorable reviews here, but the low price of this item makes me wonder.

Almost impossible to use because of mechanical design flaw: takes a lot of force to move plastic slider and open it to use USB connector
If I knew this, would have not bought it....
