I bought 4. Read/Write FAST. Metal tip is strong.

Not like some USB key that contains only 70 or 80 GB, or even 32 GB when suppose to be a 128 GB. Metal tip is strong, not flimsy plastic thing that breaks all the time.

PNY must be going down hill.

So, first let me explain something here. This entire endeavor started by purchasing a PNY XLR8 SSD at the store, after two days of not being able to clone my existing hard drive to it or install Windows 10 to it, it went back to the store. Instead of trying again, I just decided to upgrade my memory instead and picked up a 16gb set of the PNY XLR8 PC3-14900 to add to my existing 16gb of 1866MHz. After installation, by motherboard showed a memory check error and after working through that, the PC would only either blue screen or detect my original memory (tried multiple configurations including just the PNY PC3-14900 which blue screened), so the memory went back. While I was at the store, I saw that they were running a sale on the PNY Turbo Plus 64gb & 128gb flash drives; I should have known better...either way, I bought one 64gb & one 128gb, for the price they were hard to pass up. The 64gb Turbo Plus worked as soon as I plugged it in, however, the 128gb Turbo Plus would not be detected by my PC. After updating drivers, trying different USB ports (both 2.0 & 3.0) and looking through disk management, I decided to try another PC with Windows 7 instead of Windows 10. The Windows 7 computer wouldn't detect the USB drive either, so I then tried my Macbook Pro. The Macbook Pro actually recognized it, so with this small glimmer of hope, I decided to try formatting it and then connecting it to the Windows machines after format. This did not work at all; I tried both FAT and ExFAT and while it was still detected and usable by my Mac, the Windows machines won't even acknowledge the USB's existence. Looks like I'm going to have to return/RMA this as well. Is PNY slowly going downhill with their quality control? I think that it's somewhat ridiculous that I've bought 4 different PNY products and 3 of them were absolute failures. How is that possible? I have never had these many problems with their products in the past.

after transferring large and small files to test write speeds the drive managed 62-68 MB/S on large files ranging from 100 MB - 5 GB on smaller files like pictures and mp3 files it managed 7-10 MB/S and last was text files ranging from 54-500 KB was were it struggles transfer speeds ranged from 123-257 KB/S and sometimes would stall all this was tested with the drive formatted in ex-fat and tested through a USB 3.0 port on my desktop

Seems to do the job, but no status LED

Just got it and copying my 128Gb to it as I type this. Seems to work so far with average speed between 5-6Mb/s. Very disappointed there doesn't seem to be a status LED like on the 128Gb, even though it appears to be the same design. Either that or it's broken. Wish there was a way to be sure. Most USB drives like this seem to forget to mention LED status and color.

    Junk, Junk, Junk!!!!

I own 3 PNY - Turbo Attaché 4 256GB USB 3.0 Type A Flash Drives (the original ones that sold for about $65) and they work beautifully. I bought this one for $99.99 and it's terrible. As I'm watching a movie file on my Blu-ray player it reaches a certain point and a box pops up, "USB not recognized, rebooting system". The machine reboots and I have to find where I was just for it to happen again and again. PNY has the nerve to call this one "Elite", HA! what a joke. I paid more and got less. I'm returning this piece of junk.

Had 4 out of 4 fail

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have one that works out of the four I purchased and they didn't fail right away one did three didn't. I returned the one that failed and the other three failed after a month so I could not return them to the store. Kind of ridiculous in my book to have a failure rate that high. Speaking of the actual product these flash drives are fast! reads at almost 180 MB's and write at almost 100 MB's using USB 3.0 and transferring from an SSD

    Doesn't work in Macs

I bought this due to the many positive reviews and great price / GB. Then I plugged it into two different iMacs and neither one recognized it. I Googled the problem and apparently this is a general issue with PNY flash drives. So I returned it and got the much more expensive Sandisk flash drive, which works fine. My take: it apparently works for a lot of people, but if you own a Mac, be ready to return it.
