Seems to do the job, but no status LED

Just got it and copying my 128Gb to it as I type this. Seems to work so far with average speed between 5-6Mb/s. Very disappointed there doesn't seem to be a status LED like on the 128Gb, even though it appears to be the same design. Either that or it's broken. Wish there was a way to be sure. Most USB drives like this seem to forget to mention LED status and color.

Huge space, great value... but my smart TV (Sharp Aquos) doesn't recognize it. Every other flash drive does... Still a great buy.

    Junk, Junk, Junk!!!!

I own 3 PNY - Turbo Attaché 4 256GB USB 3.0 Type A Flash Drives (the original ones that sold for about $65) and they work beautifully. I bought this one for $99.99 and it's terrible. As I'm watching a movie file on my Blu-ray player it reaches a certain point and a box pops up, "USB not recognized, rebooting system". The machine reboots and I have to find where I was just for it to happen again and again. PNY has the nerve to call this one "Elite", HA! what a joke. I paid more and got less. I'm returning this piece of junk.

Had 4 out of 4 fail

I have one that works out of the four I purchased and they didn't fail right away one did three didn't. I returned the one that failed and the other three failed after a month so I could not return them to the store. Kind of ridiculous in my book to have a failure rate that high. Speaking of the actual product these flash drives are fast! reads at almost 180 MB's and write at almost 100 MB's using USB 3.0 and transferring from an SSD

    Doesn't work in Macs

I bought this due to the many positive reviews and great price / GB. Then I plugged it into two different iMacs and neither one recognized it. I Googled the problem and apparently this is a general issue with PNY flash drives. So I returned it and got the much more expensive Sandisk flash drive, which works fine. My take: it apparently works for a lot of people, but if you own a Mac, be ready to return it.

    Promptly returned this

I purchased this flash drive because I needed to move several large files to and from several computers at work. I have an external hard drive but it is for my personal computer files and I didn't want to have to take it to work. So on Easter Sunday when I saw this flash drive was on sale, I thought it would be the perfect solution. However, when I took it to work and attempted to add files to the flash drive I got an error message informing me that the disk was full. But there was nothing on it... I did some internet research about this issue and found that this was a common problem. One site recommended formatting the flash drive so I tried it and was able to save my information. Then I took the flash drive to another computer to print out the saved data and was unable to open my saved files. This product is not dependable at all and I returned it.

    capacity discrepancy PNY P-FD128TBOP-GE (silver)

PNY P-FD128TBOP-GE (silver color) flashdrives can have different capacity. I have initially got one flashdrive that had 127,968,411,648 bytes 119 GB , then I got two same drives 128 GB each but they had only 125,529,718,784 bytes 116 GB. Technical support stated to me that they may come from different factories they have. I was asked to return the two new flashdrives and try a different batch a few weeks later. I am questioning the quality control at PNY ... they only have 1 year warranty ...

While the product itself is good the fact that u lose ten gigs before putting anything on it is just a ripoff. U are buying at retail= full price yet of u purchase you are shorted ten gigs. Make it make sense

    Failed after 1 month

It worked for the first week. Then it would start to freeze during any size file transfers from my computer to the USB stick. (Drive was formatted HFS+ for Mac) Now it does not mount or show up on any computer. Complete failure. Currently in the works with PNY doing a a RMA for a warranty claim. Hope they send me one that will last.

    Very Slow Write Speeds

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought 2 of these and copied files from an internal SSD. I found write speeds to be incredibly slow, only about 1-10 MB/s. I plugged them into different USB 3.1 Gen2 ports on my computer with the same result. I reformatted the drives to exFAT, but they were still slow. To make sure the computer was OK, I transferred the same files to an old Lexar flash drive I had. The transfer speeds to it were several hundred MB/s. The drives I purchased certainly do not operate at USB3 speeds

Poor quality, keeps connecting and disconnecting from multiple computers and multiple USB interfaces. Only had 92gb of usable space when first connected instead of 128gb of capacity as advertised.

Used twice and it is no longer recognized by any of my computers. I have other PNY thumb drives (had them for years) and never had this happen. I found others online who have had the same experience with this device.

Flash Drive Labeled 128GB Had 32GB of Storage

128GB flash drive had only 32GB of storage. Be sure to check the storage of the drive to make sure they didn't give you a low capacity drive in the shell labeled 128BG.

    Unreliable

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

What's the point in backing up to a flash drive when ones like these are so unreliable? It sat for a couple of months after a move. When I was able to get my computer set up & tried to sync files, only one small file shows on the flash drive, yet properties shows I have 40gb used... nothing shows up in hidden... it prompts me to format, warning everything will be erased, then it fails to format. Now I feel vulnerable bc not everything is backed up as securely as I like it. So pointless.
