Open world pokemon adventure. My first game in this series and purchased based on pretty much everyone saying that this is the best pokemon available on the switch - so far its quite enjoyable and relaxing to play.

The game was a nice attempt to branch out from the standard Pokemon formula. It definitely could be better, and the completionist aspects wear thin, but it's a fun game.

This is almost the exact Pokemon game I have always wanted. I just wish there were more traditional gyms and that is was set in the first/second gen worlds like Gold/Silver/Crystal were. Too many new Pokemon for an OG like me to learn these day. lol

Pokemon, that is all you need to know that this is going to be a great game, and it was, the game is extremely fun to play, it works different than normal Pokemon games in how you fight and catch Pokemon, most of the time you are sneaking up on the Pokemon and throwing a pokeball to catch them, you can also battle them to catch them, it is about the average length of most Pokemon games, I finished it in 38 hours, the only thing I have to say is that it is harder than the average pokemon game, you could be 30 levels higher than a wild pokemon and they would hit you with an attack you are resistant to and it would still take out half your hit points, I highly recommend this game, don't ever listen to any reviews that try to say this game and all Pokemon games are bad those people are just trying to destroy a good franchise because they are afraid of these games and how well they always sell.

Good first attempt for a new direction in the Pokemon games. The game play can be repetitive at times but it keeps you engaged still. The character models look good but the world graphics are ruff at times. When Pokemon are in the distance the frame rate goes to the gutter on their animations but it does not kill the game experience . I've had 2 crashes on my playtrough. Still a good game , hope they keep improving on future games .

It’s a beautiful game that feels like Zelda: Breath of the Wild meets Pokémon. Wide open maps, tasks to keep you busy and a pretty good story. The catch or fight system makes the game challenging as you try to complete your Pokédex quests. Great game!

As someone who got so into action games that I can hardly stand playing pure turn based games such as Pokemon anymore (which is very sad for me because this was a big part of growing up for me)... This game was great! The action is uh, kinda bad compared to other games I'm used to, such as Ys, Monster Hunter, and Platinum Games, but it suffices, and for the first time in years, I was able to avoid dropping a Pokemon game, because I can just sneak up on pokemon and throw balls at them. This really was the breath of fresh air and innovation that Pokemon's main series needed. Hell, they need it overall because the flow of console spinoff games had dried up for a while, too. And if you don't have my extremely specific problem, you can fight pokemon normally, too, with flawlessly smooth transitions without loading screens, and a few minor twists to the normal battle mechanics to add spice. I wish people would shut up about open world being amazing, though. Graphical prowess is a very low priority on my list, but even I think the world looks incredibly boring. It's kinda just the same few trees, water, and grass everywhere in variable elevations/corridors, with pokemon and items littered about at good intervals. Like, it's not a disaster, but it's far from interesting. Probably would have preferred to have more dedicated smaller stages that don't have to be super detailed like in Monster Hunter Rise. This game is a fantastic start, and I seriously hope they keep going in this direction, because I have no idea if I can go back to the old stuff.

Fun and Fresh New Take on Pokémon

Pokémon Legends Arceus does a good job freshening up the traditional Pokémon format and makes strides towards a new future. The game features open-world-esqe areas and players have much freedom in how they explore/catch Pokémon. Unlike most previous games the goal of the game is to complete the Pokémon, and it was a fun challenge to complete due to how fluid the catching system was. Story was pretty simple; nothing too special there. Fun and hard postgame content as well. Only real complaint would be the framerate; I didn’t mind it when I played through it initially, but I checked in again after playing through Skyward Sword HD and could immediately tell how framey the game was. If you’re a type of person who tends to notice framerates, you may have trouble enjoying this game. Besides that, highly recommend.

Open zone exploration game where you catch and befriend pokemon. Work to complete the Pokédex and requests for villagers native to the region. A refreshing change of pace in the Pokemon franchise that I found to be very enjoyable and relaxing game to play.

Absolutely LOVED this game. I’ve been a Pokémon fan since the 90s and have played every main title in the series. This was a breath of fresh air for the series. A lot of fun exploring and definitely more incentive to fill the Pokédex up.

I am OBSESSED. it's unlike any pokemon game that has ever been out and it's so well done. i highly recommend it, especially if you like games like breath of the wild or genshin impact, it has that awesome open-world adventure aspect to it.
