I was tired of the main line Pokemon games, and this game takes a new approach to the series. The rinse and repeat stuff is still in this game, but it feels fresh at the same time. The overworld can be a bit stale, but the gameplay hook is there and I am confident I will play this one to completion.

Fun game, completely different than any other pokemon game I've played. The open world concept of running around and collecting pokemon with no "gym challenge" or anything like that is a fun twist on this game

An absolute breath of fresh air for anyone interested in the Pokemon series. The game does have slight flaws, namely in the textures and draw distance, but otherwise the gameplay was an absolute blast from start to finish. Overall Legends is incredible take on the existing series formula, with a much greater emphasis on exploring and catching Pokemon rather than battling a random trainer every other minute. If you've ever had an interest in the franchise. I highly recommend giving this game a spin.

Loving the game so far. My only complaint has nothing to do with the game, but rather WHEN I received it. Just a heads up to anyone—if you pre order new releases from Best Buy you won’t get the game ON release day, it ships on release day. So I’d consider buying elsewhere if you want it day of.

The game came a bit later than I would have liked, but I’m pretty satisfied with the delivery itself. The gameplay is different from any other Pokémon title. I don’t personally think it’s for everyone, especially those that are not use to Pokémon being this format. However, I have enjoyed it.

Legends: Arceus is a clear example of both potential, and the results of rushed production. The gameplay is addicting and the premise is solid, something gamefreak should absolutely continue as a series, but the way the game looks and feels far outshines the good things at times. Buggy models, LoD is laughable and things de-render about ten feet away, empty barren terrain with nearly zero texture (Coronet Highlands is the worst offender), stale expressions, lack of voice acting (which makes dialogue awkward), the constant black screens because gamefreak is too lazy to animate with their multi billion dollar budget.. all of this points to the same problem of rushed production that Sword and Shield had. Thankfully, the story and lore are much, much better than SwSh's joke of a plot, and there is actual worldbuilding and interesting interaction between people and Pokemon. I'd love to see them put effort like this with their story into the next games and beyond, but I also wish they'd given this game the development time Breath of the Wild received. So.. it's all in all good, but it could have been so much better.

This game is pretty much what Pokémon fans have been asking for since the switch came out. There is so much to improve, like graphics, rendering, and more details, but the gameplay and the concept of the game are still worth 5 stars. Very fun different experience than previous Pokémon games.

This is definitely the most fun I’ve had playing a Pokémon game in a long time. The catching mechanic is a lot of fun and a breath of fresh air for the series. Also shiny hunting in this game is one of the best experiences in any Pokémon game.

Giving it 4 stars only because the graphics could have been better. The game play is easily 10/5 stars. You’re not buying a Pokémon game for the graphics but they need to seek out a new format to at least try and enhance the graphics. You don’t notice it so much when you’re playing on the switch console screen but when you dock it and play on your tv the graphics and depth of the picture are visibly trash. Over all not displeased with this game as it’s the best Pokémon game I’ve played yet.

I've only got a couple hours of gameplay so far but the free rome along with interaction of the pokemon is spectacular. Pokemon being able to attack the player is definitely new aspect to a once simple game.

Love the game! Was hesitant about having the new style of gameplay since I thought Gamefreak had botched Let’s Go Eevee with the mechanics… within playing for 20 minutes I was hooked. Been playing since the very beginning and I would say hands down this is the best Pokémon game I’ve played

As a person that grew up in the era of the original 151, this was one of my first games in decades for the series. A very interesting premise for a game, that I am not sure how I feel about it. The game is very enjoyable overall, but at times can feel a bit grindy and too open.
