Not worth nearly $70 not to mention they announced $30 DLC before the game even came out so that was obviously stripped from the base game. So $100 if you want the full game. Dialogue and story are boring and cringey, NPCs just stand there staring into space, no voice acting so characters just move their mouths in silence while you read (not even background music sometimes), it’s based in 1 city with buildings that look terrible (you have one job if it’s based in a city…) but the wild zones look pretty good. Load times are fast when travelling but when running around you can watch people and Pokémon pop into view. New battle mechanics are interesting but ultimately just button mashing so no real strategy. Side quests are boring and half the time you already have the item/Pokemon the person is asking for so it is instantly completed. Couldn’t wait to skip through the dialogue and get to Rank A so I can sell it used and recoup some funds. If you have $70 to spend go with DK Bananza instead it is leagues better and this is not a must-have Pokémon game.

Works on the switch 1 with small update without any fuss. Just leaving this here for others to know as the Bestbuy employee told me to get the switch 1 version but I wanted this version for a possible better resell value down the road!

it is a great entry in the pokemon series lacks a few things i would like in a pokemon game but still great.

I like the characters, even the new ones. I’ve read negative comments about the characters not having voices. I didn’t think it was a big deal but after playing this for a while, I can kind of see how that would make this better. Still, I like playing it and I’m glad I bought it.
