Diffrent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a good game, probably not the best one but I'm still exploring the game. The introduction is a bit slow, especially for the hardcore pokemon fans.

Best Pokemon Game Yet! A Must Buy!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over the Thanksgiving Weekend I found myself walking out of Bestbuy with a New Nintendo 3ds and a copy of Pokemon Sun which is the counterpart to Pokemon Moon. What drove me to buy it was the promise of new and different gameplay and an exciting new region to explore. But did it deliver on those promises? The last Pokemon game I played was Pokemon White which came out about 6 years ago. However even though some time has passed the last couple of releases have stuck to the old style of gameplay. You start off with your first Pokemon given to you at the start of the game. Then as you progress through the game you collect more Pokemon to add to your team which You use to battle other Pokemon trainers. Your ultimate goal in the game is to go through different cities and towns and challenge the gym leaders who are the strongest Pokemon trainers in their city. After defeating each leader you obtain a gym badge and once you collect all eight badges you go on to face the Elite Four and the Pokemon League Champion. This formula of gameplay has been used for the past 20 years with minor tweaks and adjustments for each new installment. This type of gameplay may get boring after a while but fans of the series still enjoy it. Upon first starting my adventure I immediately realized the graphical improvement over its predecessors. That may be a given as it has been 6 years since I played a Pokemon game but the leap from 2d to 3d models have definitely made the game a treat to look at. Pokemon Sun and Moon take place in region based on Hawaii called Alola, so the setting is dense with lush foliage and vibrant colors. The game started off like many of the ones before it, get your first Pokemon from the Pokemon Professor and begin your adventure to become the very best Pokemon trainer. However the objective was quite different. Instead of collecting gym badges there were four different islands to visit and you must take each of the Island Trials. These trials don't only consist of battling though. They include little minigames such as scavenger hunts and puzzles which is a breath of fresh air from all the constant battling.. This game also ties in the story much better than before. In previous games you could almost entirely skip over the story as your main objective was to win the Pokemon League. In Pokemon Sun and Moon you help a Pokemon named Cosmog from being used for evil by the two antagonistic groups, the Aether Foundation and Team Skull. After you save Cosmog and finish all the Island Trials you still have to take on the Pokemon League and cement yourself as Champion of the Alola region. Even after the main story is over there is still plenty to do as their is an online mode where you can battle against and trade with your friends in which you can pour several more hours into. Pokemon Sun and Moon may be the best pokemon games I’ve ever played because the setting was beautiful, the different types of pokemon were awesome, and the gameplay was fresh and exciting. That is why, in my opinion, Pokemon Sun and Moon is a must buy for any fan or newcomer to the series.

I like it....but
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A few hours into game play and I knew I needed to write a review on this particular game. I absolutely love Pokemon games, and I have been playing since Leaf Green/Fire Red. Here are my impressions from the game. Pokemon Sun is a good game. I love all the new Pokemon, especially the three adorable new starters. The graphics are great. You can tell the improvement from Alpha Sapphire and XY. The overall theme, characters, colors, and customization are great. I'm glad they decided to bring back being able to chose different clothing items and stuff like that to make it a unique experience. However, they got rid of gym battles..... Which in my opinion is a major downfall. Any die heart Pokemon fan lives for gym battles and gym badges. Now we have something called Island Trails. Which are okay.... in terms, but no where near as fun as gyms. They also got rid of HM's and replaced them with pagers that you can use to call different Pokemon to aid you in your quest. This isn't a bad feature. Overall the game is very very different compared to what we have had in the past. There is ALOT alot alot of commentary in this game. Which I usually enjoy but it is a little excessive this time. If you can get past the changes the game is still a good buy. It still has the great Pokemon atmosphere we all know and love, just with several changes. I would recommend this game to a friend.

Best Pokemon game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Quite simply the best Pokemon experience you'll have, nostalgia aside. The new mechanics are great and this one has the best story out of any Pokemon game out there. Don't be deceived by their looks but the new Pokemon are also great. Highly recommended.

One Of The Best In The Series
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant upon seeing the differences between the Alola region and the other regions (lack of gyms, island trials, etc) but this game handled it extremely well - it gave something new while staying true to the core Pokémon experience. The story was excellent as well, very involving and I think the overall experience was more polished than many recent releases; I'd put it on par with the classic generations, it was that good! There's a lot to do even after beating the main game and its replay-ability is very enjoyable.

One of the best modern generations of Pokemon ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone who has been a part of the Pokemon series since the late 90s with Red, Blue, and Yellow it always makes me happy that Pokemon is still getting new games. As for Sun & Moon I have to say this generation is one of the best generations ive played since I was younger. The new styles and forms of classic Generation 1 Pokemon made me smile and the bright tropical setting of Alola accompanied by its wonderful music made this game a joy to play through. The changes made compared to previous generations work in the games favor (No HMs, Z-Moves, Trial Captains) and after playing it all the way through post content and all im just hoping that there is a Nintendo Switch version to this so I can play even more!

Welcome change for New Pokemon
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With the new Pokemon games, it felt like a good change of pace to actually switch up the formula for the series. We've had the usual "beat 8 gyms, battle Pokemon League, The End" story throughout 20 years, It's a good change that now we no longer have Gyms and now have Island Trials instead. It gives these new games a breath of fresh air while retaining the core gameplay mechanics of previous Pokemon games. Overall these new changes are welcome in my book!

Great, but a few flaws
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As always, the latest Pokemon games are excellent entries into the series, with some great improvements and a few not so great. The lack of gym battles is disappointing, and I found the Z moves to be underwhelming and not as interesting as Mega forms in X/Y. But the return of character customization through clothing and accessories, improvements to the interface (a quick button for throwing Poke balls, indicators for the effectiveness of moves in battle, an on screen map on the bottom screen) and getting rid of HMs in favor of callable, rideable Pokemon make the games overall a net improvement over its predecessors. If you're a fan of Pokemon at all, you can't do wrong giving Sun/Moon a try.
