Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the solid gameplay, beautiful graphics, and engaging story as major strengths of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Double Pack. Many also praise the Wild Area and the introduction of new Pokémon. However, some players find the game too easy and express concerns about the amount of content. Positive feedback also focuses on the open world, ease of use, and the overall fun factor.

Definitely worth the pre-order. The game itself is great. Has lots of the older game mechanics and the raids so far keep it interesting with a little r&g.

Great 3d entry in the Pokemon franchise. The freedom in the wild area is a refreshing take on where to catch Pokemon.

About 20 hours in, with 6/8 gyms beat and over 100 pokemon caught, so I feel qualified to say that this game is solidly good. It isn't amazing; not much innovation present, aside from cooking and the character customization options (which are extensive), but it hits most of the important points for a Pokemon game. While some of your favorites from past games may not be available, as many were cut from the game and are unobtainable, there is an impressive variety from the very beginning. It's possible to make an interesting team very early on, which isn't always possible in past games. I wish Gamefreak had done more to differentiate it from previous games, as it's the first main-series game that can benefit from the capabilities of a full console, but as long as you go in expecting a solid Pokemon game instead of a masterpiece of innovation, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

It's Pokemon. If you've played any version of this game in the past you, you know exactly what you are getting into. I haven't played since Red and I was able to jump right in. The game is fun and addicting. Worth a play especially on the go.

Better after the DLC but wish t’was there to start

I bought this on release day but waited for the DLC before leaving my review. The base game was alright. Better than the online sentiment would lead you to believe, but not the best entry in the series. I liked the quality of life changes but the game felt a little lacking or empty in the story department. The DLC helped flesh that out a little, but you can never shake the feeling that this game was either rushed out to meet a deadline, the devs didn’t care about the game, or some combination of both. That being said, while some people are upset about the existence of DLC I much prefer that to getting a third version of the game with the extra content included. Nice to see the Pokémon series finally join the modern age even if it can be argued some of this DLC content should’ve been in the base game to begin with

There's a lot of stuff going around about GameFreak and Pokémon, but I'm just looking at the game for what it is. I haven't finished either game yet, I'm about halfway through Sword, but I can say that it's not as good as the best Pokémon games, and not as bad as the worst. I'm enjoying more than any of the 3DS Pokémon games. Pokémon is a fun franchise, so a middle of the road Pokémon game is still good to me. I will say I love the soundtrack and setting, though I wish the story and characters were more interesting. I feel like the last time they tried with story in Pokémon games was with Black & White on the DS. Still, it's Pokémon, so if that's a good thing to you, then good! This dual pack comes in a nice box, and includes download codes for two Pokémon. If you're like me and you always get both versions of Pokémon games, then you might as well go for the dual pack!

Got as a gift for my two nephew's which was a hit for Christmas I just wish it came with two coins to be able to also give one to each of my nephew's and not tell a 8 & 6 year old they had to share. I feel the pictures they have up where misleading.

Its a great game. Very addicting. The new additions are great. I prefer dynamax as the new gimmick of the series. Theres 400 pokemon but I never really captured all the pokemon from a game so I dont really care. Its an amazing game for a pokemon fan.
