I finished this game in 2 days. The story line is incredibly linear compared to the classic Pokemon games, nothing much to do outside of it. Plus the $30 each DLC, it makes the game feel super incomplete without paying a total of $90 or $120. Ridiculous. I gave my copy away.

Great game if you like the grind, but overall I feel like Pokemon has lost a lot of its luster over the years. This entry feels very low effort, so I'd stay away

I'm not sure what the point is of collecting more pokemon if you know that they aren't going to be transferable to the next game. The appeal is that your pokemon go with you....

Good, but not as great as it could have been. With the great games Nintendo has published so far, this one should have been pure wow factor, however, feels like a half measure.

I just can't get into pokemon. Only played for a couple hours and it's just not for me. Probably a little too old and don't have thdt nostalgia factor lol.

Doesn’t have most Pokémon in the game. Instead they only give u bare minimum saying they give high quality models and animation in return which are lies

It’s a decent Pokémon game however the game is missing a lot of old favorites. It’s a shame because they have so much material to work with but choose to not include them.

It's great playing this on a home console but not enough strides were made to make this a fresh or rewarding experience for between Pokemon players.

I love pokemon and have played all the core games. However, gigantamaxing is really boring versus the excluded Mega Evolution, and the gameplay is slow and repetitive. Online interactions are slow and inefficient (I mean the functionality, not the connection). The storyline and the characters are annoying, and I miss the good ol' simple stories of gen 1 - 5. I would have liked it to be more like X/Y or ORAS at the most, but they had to keep adding more senseless things.

Same old same old, overall disappointed in the game played for a few hours when I picked up my pre order. Months later still haven't picked it back up.

If you don't mind the same game redone constantly with easier difficulties, bland story, uninteresting environments (the wild area is ok but the main routes are very poorly designed outside of flashy aesthetics), and constantly being treated like a kid who is playing their first pokemon game, then this game will be ok for you. Else just stay away and save your money for when Game Freak actually develops a good mainline Pokemon game in 20 years (or longer...)

For those older players (like myself) that have grown up to play the classic pokemon games of old, this game is not for us. I was excited to play a pokemon game on the big screen but it just does not hold the same nostalgic gameplay that we liked. This marks my last pokemon purchase for new gens but will be reliving Gen 1-5 as they are remade.

For what it does differently it could do much better with battling other people and having more pokemon make a comback rather too many new pokemon

Missing features, pokemon, awful performance in the wild area and bland visuals. Post game content is non-existent and grind for raids gets old.

Some of the features are cool, but it feels like the same old game. Like you're playing an improved sun or ruby. It's just ok.

It's Pokémon, and you have fun. The game just suffers from a lack of innovation and visual touchups you think it'd have on an actual console. Super hard to play if you've played previous games and want to do what you want and not have your hand held the entire time you play. The DLC feels like it should have been in the base game with some of the fixes it applies
