Excellent game. Very family friendly and easy to play without sacrificing a good story.

This is a gift for a friend and they love the game..It can be played with a group of friends..

Easily accessible for all ages and the quality of life changes are very helpful in making it feel like a much more flowing game. The game is setup very well for competitive and end game leveling. Plenty more to do exploring and playing with others after you finish the main story. Hope Game Freak is able to improve and flesh out the experience even more for the next mainline game but Pokemon fans will want to experience Galar.

Best pokemon game hands down. Good story line and encounter new pokemons

The biggest con is obviously the lack of the National Dex and missing a ton of fan favorite Pokemon; my personal favorites missing would be the Johto starters mainly the Typhlosion family (many more though since the Dex is only ~400 Pokemon in size). The other annoyance to me is Dynamax Pokemon, esp after Mega Evolution. Dynamax is just the lazier version of the two and honestly feels backwards and underwhelming. Overall, if you are a Pokemon fan and/or new to it, its still enjoyable. Kind of personally expected more for a "console" Pokemon generation game, but it fills the void I suppose. Just don't expect Gold/Silver or HG/SS vibes or anything.

If you have played a pokemon game you know what to expect, but this game added some great features that make the game far more enjoyable! Here are two of the biggest improvements (these improvements are very helpful for longtime fans). 1) Every Pokemon Center now has a move tutor in them. This guy will allow your Pokémon to remember previous moves that you forgot, FOR FREE! If you have never played a Pokémon game this will not be a huge deal, but for anyone that has played for a long time, and knows how awful the previous move tutors were (can only remember a move if you bring him some obscure item) this is extremely helpful! 2) The second and best improvement in my mind is you can now access your pokemon, that are in your Poké boxes, from essentially anywhere! You can now be hard at work training your Pokémon, and without having to go back to town, you can just swap out Pokémon. You can’t due this once you begin a gym, but this makes it far easier if you want to train say 7, 8, or more Pokémon for your team! This game is a lot of fun and I highly recommend it to new and old fans! There is also dynamaxing, a built in experience share, and much more!

This is a very solid Pokemon game with a solid roster of new Pokemon and characters, though the story's nothing to write home about apart from a few moments. Still, I recommend this.

I’ve played Pokémon since gen 1 on game boy color and I would play some of the newest gen versions along the years occasionally. I was a little worried with this game gen due to all of the graphics and play style with the newest updates and game console but this game did not disappoint. Super fun and had a bit of nostalgic feel towards it with all of the new updated and improved gameplay.

This was a “just because” gift for my 6-yr old son. Hands down this game has kept his attention more than any other he’s played (and it’s one I don’t mind to sit and help/watch with him). Good storyline, nice interaction, tons of wandering if you want or you can go straight through story. I learned more about Pokémon in the past month than I would have ever needed to know.

Its awesome, the pokemon games are getting better as time goes but one thing I would love to see is when a character speaks, I would really love to actually hear people speaking and not read every time there is communication. I must be lazy in a way, but its getting old for me. Besides that everything is good, i still need to play further into the game but I dont regret buying this game. Its worth it.

Finally pulled the trigger on this game! Black Friday pricing brought it down to 39.99 Played pokemon on and off, this brings some nostalgia with previous gen pokemons. My son is also playing the game, and is enjoying. Now sniping for the DLC. LOL As much as I wish they would just update the game automatically, it is not how it works :( Well played Nintendo, well played.

If you have a Switch that you use a lot, this game has a lot of great ways of filling your gaming sessions through raid battles, online competitions, hunting for Pokemon with marks and collecting the available Pokemon in the region. Sure you can't transfer all of them in this time but there's already a lot to collect and it's fun to do it on the TV for the first time. Just make sure you have Switch Online and Pokemon HOME to use the GTS since it's not in game. Bought this after buying Shield last year to check out the story more leisurely and to catch Zacian which is exclusive to Sword.

I play this game every day ever since I bought it. It has great graphics and good story.
