As expected and more! Sword has many new features since it's 3DS days, which is a huge improvement. Would note you'll need many hours to catch'em all, but gameplay is straightforward. Recommended to get friends to play with so that you can get both edition specific Pokemon, but wouldn't get too caught up on that since the online trading platform is so readily available.

This new version of Pokemon does a lot of great things to eliminate some of the tedious things from previous games, which is great. It comes with a small downside though in that the game can feel a bit too easy when your Pokemon are constantly being healed and leveling quickly from experience share. I wish the battles would have been made slightly tougher in response, but the game is still a lot of fun. Some people will be disappointed in the number of Pokemon in the game, but it doesn't bother me that much. In some ways, I appreciate that the constraint makes me approach the game a bit differently but not everyone will agree.

Overall good game, felt relatively short in comparison to previous Pokémon story entries, but I guess that's a part of the gaming environment we live in (DLC). I haven't purchased the DLC yet, but I may look into to further the experience. Graphics and gameplay are great and being able to relive the past Gameboy experiences on the tv screen is amazing.

Best Pokemon Game in so long! The graphics are incredible. Looks just like i'm watching an anime, and likens to anime styles like studio ghibli movies. Music is excellent, classic pokemon have never looked this good. The amount of new features, customizability, functionality with the nostalgia of old times makes this an excellent game!!

Sword is yet another great entry in the Pokémon series. Making the jump to switch, I’ve really enjoyed the visual style and I think some of the tweaks GameFreak has made to how they present the world and it’s story Have been fantastic. If you’ve played a Pokémon game in the past, you pretty much know what you’re getting yourself into, but I think this game is great for new players and veterans alike

Was a gift for my daughter, she loves playing it and so do I. Very different game play than pokemon evee, and the story is way more entertaining. Another hit from Nintendo!

My wife and I really love the new Pokemon series. The newer style graphics and many new things you can do now like go camping and cooking in your camp site trying our different recipes. Every single Pokemon is not in the game which is a bummer but that's okay, there are still plenty to catch and have plenty of fun playing the game. I highly recommend this game to any Pokemon fan.

Great pokemon game, even for a beginner just being introduced to pokemon games. Previous series were far more difficult and I can clearly tell that the devs put time in to dropping the difficulty to get more players introduced to the franchise. Overall a fun game for both long pokemon fans or beginners.

I know there's been a lot of controversy around not having all the previous Pokemon available in this game, but the developers were genuinely able to put a greater focus on the actual gameplay, which is significantly improved from previous entries with more new features than we've seen in any other Pokemon sequel to this point. Especially great game for people playing Pokemon for the first time.

Pokemon is back at it again with the Sword edition. I grew up on Red & Blue version OG pokemon master here. It is awesome seeing how far Pokemon has grown over the years! It is fun watching the animations for new attacks and all the new game types like double battles. If you are a fan of the series go for it.

Second time buying this game. Was in the mood for a little Pokémon and this game was one I needed to finish.
