Awesome game. Felt more like a pokemon game than other newer games

This is a nice change for the Pokémon series. I grew up on the original 150 Pokémon with pikachu and ash ketchum and even had the old pokemon game. The graphics of this game are AMAZING! I love that they have the original Pokémon and introduced all the new ones too! I have yet to Complete the game but am thoroughly impressed by how well the game is put together! It’s very similar to the one in the 90s where you receive a Pokémon and start your journey to become the best trainer. But then you get to journey and catch different Pokémon in different areas and also when it comes to the gym battles, you don’t just go in and battle anymore, there is like a trial battle/set up BEFORE the actual gym learner battle(nice touch). I love that now when you talk to people, you receive gifts. If you played the original Pokémon, you’ll enjoy this !!

There's still a ways to go until Pokemon becomes what it originally was on the handheld systems of old. However, this gameplay exceptionally nicely. Less stutter, very beautiful visuals, interesting characters, and the best of them all. Discovering your pokemon in full detail, when exploring. It's got a slight OpenWorld-ness to it. But it could be slightly limited in those aspects sometimes. Either way, it might be a game for you.

bought this for Christmas for my nephew. Similar to most other pokemon games previously released. He really loves the game and a great addition to his pokemon game collection.

I really enjoyed playing Pokemon as a kid and sword and shield are pretty good.

This is seriously a fantastic game , The game play , graphics , Tons of wild pokemon battles and so many pokemon to catch along the way , Absolutely love the galar region and the open world feel , I love this game and if you don’t already have it , Go pick it up already !

Great game, can easily play for hours at a time. The mostly open world concept is great. And compared to older ones it’s awesome to be able to see the Pokémon moving around as you explore.

My daughter was so happy to get this for her Switch. She loves it!

2/2 gamers in the house are obsessed with this. Can be paired with pokemon go app to trade certain things via pokemon home. We considered whether to buy the shield as well, and since we only have one switch, decided not to right this moment (but it will happen eventually.) The digital download code worked well, and no problems or confusion in the setup process.

Purchased for my son. He really likes it but does like Pokémon violet and scarlet better.

Brings me back to when you could play on gameboy with a new flair, super fun!

Pokémon Sword is a logical next step in the franchise. Many of the favorites from the older games are missing, however the enhanced graphics more than make up for the missing fan faves. Open world is a great addition!

It’s a fun game and the code came quickly. I bought this and had so much fun with it that I bought my wife her own switch a few days later.

I’ve loved Pokémon since I was a kid and this game doesn’t disappoint.

This game is one of the strongest installments to the series. Sure they reused models, but the graphics are top notch, the story is fun, and there is plenty to keep collectors and team players interested after the main story is over. I highly recommend it!
