I remember playing the red and blue titles on the original Gameboy when I was a kid but to see and play these new Pokemon titles on the new OLED Nintendo Switch I bought at best buy as well brings back that nestalgia from when I was a kid love pokemon violet and scarlet.

Game is alot smoother since release but it still has some performance issues relating to pokemon spawning in on top of you when youre going super fast as frick boiii. - Shinys dont give audio alert or sparkle in map like arceus. + can play with friends in co-op.

I personally struggled through finishing Arceus so I didnt have many expectations buying this game. But for some reason its much more enjoyable to me than Arceus. I love the world and the new things they’ve implemented into the game. If youre a pokemon fan, give it a try. I did and i wasnt disappointed.

This game implements a lot of ideas that Pokémon fans have wanted for a while, but they really didn’t give the devs enough time to make sure it was in a good enough state to ship out. Regardless it’s an awesome time but if they pull this for the next game I’ll have to vote with my wallet and skip

Very cool. I love how challenging this one is. And for once I was pleasantly surprised by the grass-type starter. Crazy that you start the game with "the" pokemon, aka the cover pokemon, but it does spice things up a bit. Good story, controls are pretty traditional.

I really never write reviews but honestly it was a bit disappointing. Dont get me wrong, I still like the game but I feel like Shield is way better. I dont like the lag either. Id say still give it a shot, you never know!

This game is good and a fun open world Pokémon game. But coming from Arceus, I wish the catching mechanics were the same. You have a lot of different options and aren’t held down by following one path if that makes sense. I would still recommend this to anyone to grab.

Enjoyed the new concept of open world for the series. The graphic bugs were persistent but never effected game play for me (I never played for long periods of time which from what I understood is what effected players the most). Only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars

Great game with performance issues. The story is great for the endgame and the gameplay is fun as always. The graphics, fps, and overall performance is just not good though!

Fun, stylish. This one is definitely more fleshed out in the open world format than sword/shield, and legend arceus. Definitely would reccomend for a fun time!

Bought this for my daughter after she really loved pokemon shield. She likes it for thr more open world feel. There are some moxed reviews online based on the changes they made but its still a good game.

A new Pokemon game! Maybe it'll be good this time? Nope. Still buggy, laggy, extremely slow pacing, and lackluster QoL improvements. They could do so much better if they had more time for TLC.

Its a great video game. The gameplay loop is very fun and battling feels pretty decent but thats about all it has going for it. The world is okay. The story is bad until you reach the end, then it becomes okay. Graphics and performance are unacceptable. If you are looking for just a pokemon game where you see and catch cool new pokemon in a vast open world, this game is good at that. If you're looking for ANYTHING else out of it... well sorry... its not very good. The physical I got was in incredible condition (in case that matters to you)

Same old story here for pokemon game. Path is linear as you are forced to do the gyms pretty much in order. Glitchy also boring catch mechincs were brought back. Nice soundtrack but somehow gamefreak cant voice the less than 3hours of potential script.

Pokémon violet is certainly a digger approach to the Pokémon formula, but not an unwelcome one. With multiple paths to complete your objectives, and an open world to explore at your leisure, Pokémon violet is definitely worth your time.

Personally, I think this game is better than the last Pokémon game(sword and shield) that released. I like the open world of this game much better. I haven’t beat the game yet though, so my opinion could slightly change if I encounter something I don’t like. So far, so good.

Open world Pokémon game? I am sold. This is very interactive and choice based Pokémon game, where you choose if you want to battle a random trainer/pokemon in wild. On top of that, let’s go feature for your favorite pokemon.

The game is filled with lots of activity, however the storyline takes many hours with the cutscenes and is played through like it is the first Pokémon game you have ever played. It is played like a new player on the switch with lots of instructions.
