Game is alright, the map is very small. Issue with preorder. Purchased the item months in advance only to have it cancel a couple weeks before order. This caused me to lose out on the preorder bonus.

I bought this game at Best buy to get their pre-order items the play mat I did it by phone not only did I not get the pre-order item the whole reason why I went to this freaking store I can't even report the on phone employee for lying to me saying it was still in stock it was the very first thing I asked about I flat out said I wasn't going to buy it from here if it didn't have the pre-order play mat he even wasted my time saying let me go check he doesn't work at the store he's at a call center in another state. They didn't have enough in stock and even the restock amount had already been sold off. Next time I'm just going to GameStop

Game runs okay, not a ton to do, probably the worst overall entry in the franchise (excluding the mobile games) mediocre at best, very dissatisfied and won’t be finishing my play through, save your money and get the new Digimon game

There was an issue with preordering the game, so I went to the store to get it sorted out because I wanted the included laptop mat. I went in before the game was released to explain the issue. The employee assured me if I preordered the game again (original preorder got cancelled??) that I could get the mat. On the day it came out I went to pick up the game and mat and they told me they couldn’t help me. I never got the laptop mat. Games just also boring

Game is fun. Best couldn’t keep their promise of delivery same day as release. Pre-order elsewhere in the future.

I ordered this product online Dec. 14 and it was supposed to be delivered on Dec. 16. Today is Jan. 2. It never arrived. FedEx tracking simply says delivery may be delayed. I am unable to reach a real person by phone to ask about it and the website is no help.

Did not get the pre order bonus, horrible staff service kept pushing me off to the side and helping other people just for me to find out I don’t get the bonus (the whole reason why I ordered through Best Buy) don’t bother with pre orders here they suck. Last time I’ll spend my money at best buy

My Pokémon Z-A Review (So Far)

    Posted .

Pre-Order Bonus Problem: I pre-ordered this game at Best Buy, three separate orders, and unfortunately not one of them came with the play mat. Every other retailer had preorder bonuses, and I chose Best Buy because theirs looked like the best one. It even said the mat was included when I checked out, but I never got it. It’s not really the store’s fault, but it was still disappointing because I could have ordered elsewhere and received the bonuses. How I Paid: I used Best Buy credit card points for one of the copies, so I didn’t pay full price for all three. Still, it’s pretty expensive for what the game offers. As a Plus Member, I did get an extra $10 for preordering, which was a nice bonus. Gameplay and Mechanics: Honestly, the game isn’t bad compared to Scarlet and Violet. It runs smoothly, and the graphics are solid, not as good as Sword and Shield but definitely better than Legends Arceus. The game focuses heavily on PvP and has a fast-paced combat style. It feels like they mixed Legends Arceus’ battle mechanics with some sort of PvP mode. That said, it really lacks story content and feels limited. The map design is strange with Pokémon randomly spawning in the city near parked cars, and it doesn’t make much sense. It’s supposed to look like Pokémon “took over,” but it just feels odd. Sword and Shield had distinct biomes, gyms, and a clear sense of purpose. Even Scarlet and Violet, despite the bugs, offered exploration and variety. Legends Arceus had different regions too. But Z-A basically just gives you Lumiose City, a few rooftops, and nighttime battles with random trainers. The main goal is climbing from Rank Z to A with some side missions along the way. Features: There are some cool touches like shinies sparkling and making a sound when they appear, and you can leap across rooftops and dash. Megas are also back, which is awesome. But overall, it’s still the same standard Pokémon formula. The Map: Lumiose City itself looks great, but it feels kind of lifeless. I’ve only played about two hours so far. Honestly, five minutes in, I took a nap. Maybe I was just tired from doing assignments, or maybe the game’s calm pacing and mellow vibe put me to sleep. The background music is soothing, with a soft jazz feel, which I actually like a lot. Overall: The game just doesn’t feel worth $60. There’s not much included, just the game and a small Gardevoir bonus. It would have been nice to get something extra, like a card or poster. That’s one of my biggest complaints with most Switch games, the boxes feel empty. I’m still debating whether to buy the DLC. If it doesn’t take me outside Lumiose City, I’ll probably be disappointed. Verdict: Calm soundtrack, nice graphics, fun mechanics, but lacking story, content, and value. Enjoy!

I pre-ordered this item back in June, and was disappointed when, on release day, even though the order said it would arrive that day, it didn't. I did receive the item the next day, but overall poor service, would not pre-order from again.

The game is trash. 2D assets for buildings, 70$ product with no real storyline. Played Pokemon games my whole life and this is the worst I’ve ever experienced.
