Interesting and fun new way to play a classic game

I really wanted to love Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but it just didn’t click for me. The game looks fine and has a few fun moments, but overall it feels repetitive and lacking in fresh ideas. The open-world structure doesn’t bring much new to the table, and a lot of the gameplay loops — catching, battling, running errands — start to feel like busywork pretty quickly. The story has some cool concepts, but it’s inconsistent, especially when it comes to major battles. Some story fights feel way too easy, while others spike in difficulty out of nowhere, which breaks the pacing and makes progression feel uneven. It’s not terrible, just disappointing — especially after how much potential Legends: Arceus showed. I was hoping for a big step forward, but instead it feels like a step sideways.

Lack of voiceovers make the game longer than it needs to be. It's 2025 why are pokemon still making 8 bit noises and not what they say in the shows/movies. Battling and catching the pokemon however is fun. 2 steps forward 3 backwards

Nice game but not perfect. I recommend it for one more Pokemon game.

Bought this is a present for my son. He and his brother absolutely love playing it.

The new battle system they introduced is very fluid and enjoyable.

I enjoyed my time with this game, however it's absolutely not a $70 game and the complaints I've heard are justified. The musical score and the writing is above average for a Pokemon game, but it lacks some meat on the bones. I enjoy the new battle system, I'm sure plenty people don't though, so consider that when purchasing.

What a Pokémon game should feel like. Great time gets you hooked

Should be old gba prices, 30 or 35$. Low effort, small map, nothing new except some megas... however, it is still a fun game with a unique battling system you won't get with any other pokemon game, and the shiny charm is not bad to obtain. Recommend if the price comes down to try it.

Great game with an incentive battle system take for Pokemon

While I did enjoy myself with this game overall, my biggest complaint is the never ending battles. I'm sure you're thinking, that's the point of Pokémon, but I felt they were excessive. You not only have battles within the main story but nearly every side quest is also a battle. I would still recommend for fans of the series to play this entry.

Bought this for my 9 year old grandson and he enjoys playing it.
