It's 2025 why are pokemon still making 8 bit noises and not what they say in the shows/movies. Battling and catching the pokemon however is fun. 2 steps forward 3 backwards

The game looks fine and has a few fun moments, but overall it feels repetitive and lacking in fresh ideas. The open-world structure doesn’t bring much new to the table, and a lot of the gameplay loops — catching, battling, running errands — start to feel like busywork pretty quickly. The story has some cool concepts, but it’s inconsistent, especially when it comes to major battles. Some story fights feel way too easy, while others spike in difficulty out of nowhere, which breaks the pacing and makes progression feel uneven. It’s not terrible, just disappointing — especially after how much potential Legends: Arceus showed. I was hoping for a big step forward, but instead it feels like a step sideways.

The musical score and the writing is above average for a Pokemon game, but it lacks some meat on the bones. I enjoy the new battle system, I'm sure plenty people don't though, so consider that when purchasing.
