Never before has the competitive scene been so easy to get into. This game makes modern pokemon fun again. But still a slow frame rate mess please fix nintendo otherwise 5.

I am a big pokemon fan and have purchased every pokemon game for the switch. This is no exception. There is a slowdown and such because this game is not greatly optimized for the system. Keep that in mind. But issues aside even with the patch, the game is enjoyable. I don't regret my purchase.

Flawed Fun

Some of the new mechanics and open world mix things up nicely to give it a slightly fresh feel. The game looks and performs terribly though. While I haven’t run into any egregious bugs/glitches, I know others who have. Ultimately, it’s not a fast-paced action game that needs a high framerate, I just wish more care had been given to one of the largest franchises in the world. If graphical issues don’t bother you (or the person you’re buying for), then I highly recommend the games. Otherwise, maybe wait until the release some patches and hopefully fix some of the issues.
