It's just what a seasoned pokemon fan would expect nothing more nothing less. A lot of people complained in the lead up to release, but it still delivered as the first implementation of the series on the switch.

To be open the last Pokémon generation I played was the original gen 3, so the graphic updates came as a welcome sight. The game was fast as well as short, but the rework of how the gym system works almost made up for it.

While alot of moves were cut as well as pokemon, there is still plenty to enjoy with Gamefreak's first console release. Its has the right amount of balance between fights and doesnt feel as bloated as some previous titles.

It’s a good game. Could be better, but still very enjoyable

It's been a while since I last played a Pokemon game. I recently got a Switch and wanted to get back into Pokemon, overall the story is very similar to previous games (e.g. collect gym badges). The new art style is gorgeous.

A truly enjoyable game to the fans new and old wanting to immerse themselves into the world of Pokemon. With the new way of encountering pokemon it gives you the true feel of going on a journey in a world of wild pokemon.

The detail and uniqueness to this game is amazing, I've thoroughly enjoyed this addition to the Pokemon series. I've been a loyal fan of the games since the original generation one games and this one did not disappoint!

Really like the game hard to play but I will keep playing

My 10 year old son saved his money up and purchased this game. He has been playing it as much as we will let him since he got it. He's already saving up for Pokemon Sword because he loves playing this one so much.

I'm just a little bit past the first gym, but - unlike "Pokemon Go Eevee/Pikachu" this is a REAL Pokemon game, and it's so much fun to play it on the big screen! And still be able to take it with me on the small screen!!

Graphics are good, the overall game is pretty entertaining.

A great addition to the Pokémon franchise! But the after main story is lacking majorly.. not much to do after.. but was a good take on the series!

My son is 12 and a big Pokemon fan. He loves playing Pokemon GO on his phone and as soon as he got this game it was all he would play. He is saving his money to get the expansion pack

While I won't say this is the best Pokemon game to ever come out, I will say that I love playing this on my Switch. The game doesn't really change up the formula or reinvent itself in astounding new ways but, that is part of the charm of it all at the same time. If you've loved past entries you'll definitely enjoy giving this one a go

Excellent installment on the latest Pokemon title. If you want the full Pokemon experience, get this instead of the Pokemon Lets Go spin off titles. Those aren’t part of the mainline series.

I liked the game. Fun and short story. It seems that Nintendo is testing new graphics and game play with Sword and Shield. If you enjoyed prior pokemon games, you will enjoy this one too.

Our daughter received Pokemon Shield for Christmas 2019. She absolutely loved the game she beat it in about 3 weeks she loved it so much. I highly recommend this game for anyone who loves Pokemon like she does.

Over the years, a lot has pulled these Pokémon games away from the original magic and feel of red and blue. While this game is very different from the first generation, I have enjoyed it the most since the early days

I bought this game as a gift for my niece for Christmas.
