As a lifelong Pokémon player, I was a little disappointed with this game. I put about 25 hours into and just haven't had the heart to pick it back up. The open area idea is really cool, but that's the only exciting thing about the game in my opinion. I just feel like it's too... easy. Like I've progressed without any effort. I know it's a game aimed at a younger age and meant for everyone, but even the games that have come out in the past 3 years have more challenge than Shield/Sword provide.

Already put 100+ hours in it and haven't beaten it yet since there's soo much to do! Fun!

It appears to be a well thought-out, story-based game. Unfortunately, I’m unable to offer a comprehensive review as my son, who is 6, may be too young to appreciate the game.

Was expecting a lot more from the first mainline Pokémon game for a console. I finished it in 3sittings,with no replayability.
