    Maybe it is because I have grown out of this phase, but pokemon has become and empty husk of what it once was. The game has almost no charm, and is stuck in the formula of the past. There is no clear evolution within the games apart from the gimmicks they introduce every year. I feel like kids will enjoy this game but long time fans might need to become more open to the idea that the pokemon that we once enjoyed has not really grown up with us.

    It's unclear why they released sword and shield at the same time. The two games appear very similar, but they're slightly different and enjoyable.
